We both really enjoyed our stay at the Cornishman inn. The staff were friendly and helpful and recommended walks and attractions we enjoyed. The Inn had been refurbished recently to a high standard with new carpets and fresh paint throughout. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the unsuite shower was nice and powerful. The breakfast was superb and to be fair we had our evening meals there also as there was a good choice and very reasonably priced. The inn is ideally positioned in the centre with quick access to the castle and coastal walks. We would certainly recommend if you’re looking at stopping in the area.

We received a warm welcome & the bar & dining areas were full of character. Evening meal (pub grub) & breakfast were all freshly cooked & good portions. The bedrooms & corridors are in the process of being refurbished & have nice bright decor & were clean, warm & comfortable. Colin (owner & chef) contacted us the day before our stay to keep us informed of the refurbishment & an issue with the TV aerial (so no TV), but this was not a problem for us. We had a nice view from our room over the carpark, pub garden & up to the old St. Materiana's church on the hill. It was also a nice easy walk through the pub garden & up the lane to the church. Highly recommend this for sunset. We found this hotel as an ideal base for exploring Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude, Clovelly & Hartland. Because it was early in the season & most of the rooms were still being refurbished, we were the only people staying here for the two nights, so it was lovely & quiet. However, this meant that we missed out on the atmosphere of a bustling pub/restaurant in this lovely village. Good luck Colin, we hope you have a good season.
The en-suite in our room was a bit small & was quite cold getting out of the powerful shower, but we were there in early March! The sani-flow system is quite noisy in this room, but we prefer this if it means you can have an en-suite.

The Cornishman feels like the hub of Tintagel. It is located on the main street. Walking to the castle and short walks to the shops. The food was absolutely incredible! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they could not do enough for us.
The tv channels did not work on the tv and also the bathroom was a little small and needed a sink to be within it (and not in the bedroom). But these are all minor in the grand scale of things. We would definitely go back.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, could not do enough for us. Large bedroom with TV. Lovely, large, clean and comfy bed. Bathroom clean and functional. Breakfast - plenty of options and lovely food. The room was on the ground floor next to the sun terrace, music was playing and customers were enjoying their evenings. We were not adversely disturbed by any this - nothing was too loud etc. Tintagel is lovely - the whole castle site was amazing for us. Lovely fish and chips from the take away too.
Curtains in the room could be refreshed but this did not detract from our stay :)

Location was amazing, right on the high street. Bed was super comfy and bedding was quality. Modern WiFi radiator in room was great for keeping the bedroom warm.Staff were really accommodating, especially donna who was informative of what to do and where to go as it was our first time in Cornwall. Breakfast was ample and delicious. Cooked perfectly.
We booked a king deluxe room for 2 nights (room 1), but I wouldn't describe it as that. Very basic, bed and 2 side cabinets and a dresser. Bedside lamps had not been cleaned and were dusty. The tv only showed 2 channels as the aerials have not been updated so could only watch channel 4 and another which escapes me. Bathroom , no bath, was very cold as no towel radiator in there, toilet roll holder chrome had deteriorated leaving it looking rusty, the same with the shower drain, along with the seal on one side of the shower needing either replacing or a good clean as it was covered in a black residue. The toilet flush was hit and miss, sometimes flushing for 15-20 minutes before stopping. No handle on the louvre door style single wardrobe. Certainly not deluxe fittings in the room.

The room was clean airy and spacious double room en-suite. Liked the little wardrobe area alcove with tea making facilities. Generally peaceful and quiet. Friendly welcome and chef kindly agreed an earlier breakfast for me one day which was much appreciated.
Being a pub and summer patrons talking late into the evening beneath where my room was. Although very peaceful once they finished around 11.30/12.00 midnight.

Wow we had the most amazing stay at the Cornishman, everyone was amazing the owner Colin, Manageress Sharon, Donna the bar lady and all of the staff. The breakfast was outstanding and the chef was really friendly and accommodating to slight amendments. We were made to feel like family and will definitely be going again very soon. The knowledge we were given about the area and places to go was fantastic and we did a few things suggested and so glad we were told about the little places we wouldn’t have found
Nothing could be faulted

The Cornishman was located in a convenient location across from the main pub and the Tintagel Castle. The staff was very friendly and attentive to any requests. The breakfast was really good, and I did not have any issues with the room. They went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I would stay here again.
There was no elevator, and the sign in the front of the hotel says the name of the hotel in very small print. I kept passing it and kept missing the hotel when I first arrived.

the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast selection was excellent. The hotel is located in the heart of the city within walking distance of all attractions. I would especially like to mention Charlie and Joe. These guys are great. Joe recommended a great, delicious dinner for us and also told us about tourist routes. If I had a hotel, I would want to have Charlie and Joe as employees. There is free parking in the hotel yard. I really enjoyed everything and want to come back!

Great location with such handy parking. Good welcome. Enjoyed both our evening meal and the extensive breakfast. Nice room with everything we needed. All staff were friendly. No rush to check out and afterwards we were allowed to leave car in the car park to explore the area. Nice suggestion to walk from rear garden up to the church and then the castle.
It was very windy and wet and the fanlight window didn't close properly to eliminate the noise and so sleep was disturbed. We still very much enjoyed our stay.
