Though relatively expensive, you definitely get what you are paying for, in terms of the facilities offered, activities, excellent food and different entertainment each day. Our room was beautifully situated in a secluded tropical garden to maximise a person’s privacy. Being smartly designed to accommodate all our needs and much more indoors and outdoors, such as an outdoor shower, hammock and ceiling fan in the balcony, soaps made with spices, natural mosquito repellent, etc. This room really made our stay enjoyable and we felt like settling down. The beach section with its seating area and some entertainment options (e.g. tennis table, football, etc.) as well as the bar area were very nice too. Lastly, though we didn’t get a chance to sit in the pool area or in the other bar inside the premises of the hotel, I’d say both looked appealing.

I strongly recommend the hotel to instruct all its employees (especially the males) to make sure they show equality in the service and treatment they provide to all guests, regardless of their gender, as unfortunately some of them were lacking this, while working in a hotel that seems to strive in welcoming all its paying guests. For example, ask the women guests too if everything is ok and not just their husbands (while it seemed some of the male waiters serving a couple were completely ignoring the woman’s existence, not even looking at her or replying to her comments, but only considering the man’s). Also, consider putting the bill in the middle of the table and not give it automatically every time to the man only, assuming (wrongly sometimes) he is the breadwinner.

We had the same breakfast from the first until the last, not so much variety in the hot breakfast menu options ( Beacon, sausage, beans... Each day with no fail) . They have the most wonderful and welcoming staff ( Mukrim, Suzan, Kato, Jackline.... Just to name a few). We also enjoyed beach activities and sunset events that happens before dinner each night. The lady at the water sports is also very understanding and lovey, shout out to Lisa, she is available to explore all options with the guests. We also loved the outside shower and the lighting and ambiance around the shower especially at night.

The repeatation of the breakfast. We stopped looking forward to it. They clearly use a septic tank which gives off a terrible odor back into the bathroom

By far this is the nicest hotel in Zanzibar. The best part is the water is roped off so boats, jet skis etc can not go through the area keeping the water calm . It makes all the difference because we stayed at a hotel right next door that wasn’t roped off and all the boats, jet skis, horses and crowds make it not as calm and serene. They also have security so they don’t allow anyone to lay out or solicit especially when the tide is high. People can walk down the beach but it doesn’t allow people onto the property unless you are staying there so keeps it nice and private . I believe they only have 100 rooms also . The bungalow is perfect and service was impeccable. Design was gorgeous! They also offer different options like booking cooking classes, yoga , ping pong , night bonfires with amazing local dancers performing . Many options for variety if you choose.

The food is descent but I don’t think it’s their specialty. We were there for the beaches.

Probably the best hotel in Zanzibar, The big benefit is the ability to swim independently of the low/high tide, which is differ from other hotels on the west coast. Great breakfast, excellent beach bar with various programs. good number of sunbeds on the beach and near the pool. we will come back. Thanks for the great tour via Hotel Spice Garden!

The only minus point is that in some rooms you hear the music from neighbouring cheap hotel. It can go up to 2 am.

Loved the location on a pristine idyllic beach. The layout of the villas and cottages was just mesmerizing within the canopy of tree and thick foliage. So much so did not mind if it rained now and then as being in our place was just so amazing. Equally amazing were all the staff; they were polite, helpful and always attentive. The local culture made for a very homely and relaxing atmosphere around the resort which matches the best in Maldives and Seychelles. To top it all the food was always good from the breakfast buffet to the beachside lunches or the set menu during dinner. The massage in the spa was also very good. Things that could be looked at is updating the gym with more modern equipment. The set menu could be a bit more substantive ( under the guise of fine dining found it a bit underwhelming quantity wise ! - but I am reaching). The buffet breakfast end time maybe was followed too strictly with lights out in the buffet room at exactly 10:30am ! Finally, one thing to note ( and it’s not in the resort’s control) is that this is quite a long way from the airport ( about 90minute drive time ) which adds a bit of discomfort.

It was absolutely stunning, exactly how it looked in the photos and even better in real life. The cabins are spacious, clean and designed really well. The patio was a nice touch where you could spend time outdoors chilling. The property is gorgeous, between the landscaping and the beach and infinity pool you end up feeling transported. Loved the garden tour, the team was knowledgable and it was fun to learn about how the resort keeps things eco-friendly without losing the luxurious touch. Highly recommend for discerning travellers looking for a tranquil getaway with exceptional service.

It’s a two hour ride from the airport and other attractions

-Genuinely great hotel, nice beach, food and service. Quite like it actually and would return should I come to Zanzibar again -Suggest opting for an all-inclusive option - it is worth it and the guys here make great cocktails

- Last day we had quite a few jellyfish on the beach and those stung like hell. Judging by photos those were bluebottles and the beach was not closed, which was rather strange. Although it seems that was quite a rare misfortune, but still - Aircon is set at +24c min temp, you can’t make it any lower. Personal preference, but it was quite hot to sleep. On a side note - you can set a fan (separate from aircon), but it blows directly in your head - I don’t really think you can swim during low tides - rough terrain at the beach and suspect there are a few urchins. During high tides these are not an issue - there is enough depth

Resort: Beautiful resort with beautiful bungalow room surrounded with beautiful greenery. Beach: Beautiful white sand beach with amazing color. Pool was closed due to maintenance. Restaurants: Food quality in the 3 restaurants was great. Buffet on the first night had amazing selections. Staff: Over all everyone was great. However I would like to extend my thanks to Raphael for the warm welcome. Hassain for sorting out things and helping out. Mariem and Mary for having a great soul and great customer service. Malius for going an extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. Finally Preetam for organizing things and making effort to make things happen for us.

We had half board package. So first day was buffet which was amazing and we were very satisfied with it. However due to renovation so rest of the nights we had it in the other restaurants which are fine dining with small portions. I understand it’s fine dining however there should be exceptions specially when you have a half board package. The resort advertises that they have great selection of music but we never could hear it on the beach. Only if you are sitting on the beach bar. specially during sunset, it will be great to hear some nice music. It was always low unfortunately except the first day.

Incredible property, with stunning beach, the food was delicious and the majority of the staff incredibly friendly. Low tide was never a problem during our stay - big plus! The security at the beach ensured that the people selling goods on the beach keep a distance, however people do interact daily and want to sell their products.

Any activity that the hotel offered (e.g. diving, massages, airport shuttle etc) are totally overpriced… particularly considering that the people at the beach sell the same thing for a third of the hotel price.

Beach and sunset was beautiful Lovely attentive staff Rooms were immaculate and had new technology AC Zakora on the boats was extremely knowledgable and friendly Marianne the restaurant manager was a great lady who helped me with my allergies! Thank you for my special chocolate cake!

If I had to find something - The buffet food could’ve been more polished as there was a vast difference in quality between the two restaurants. Sunset boat was a little expensive for the experience
