Good location and very near the train station and shopping arcade. And it provides free parking space though it is good for compact car. Staff are friendly and it is not difficult to locate the hostel. Room is spacious and the fridge is bigger than any other hotels.

The shower room is big but quite cold coz the heat in the room is not able to transmit to this area. One more point, it got a notice posted on the shower room stating the shower time is between 3:00pm to 11am, it is strange but I have not verified with the hostel coz I didn't have shower in the morning.

A gem in Beppu. Great price (we stayed during an expensive time - national holidays). Fantastic service that's not only polite but friendly and kind! The room was older but clean and huge! Same for the bathroom. Free coffee and tea in the common area. The location is very good - close enough to the train station to walk around, but far enough not to be bothered by noise. Comfortable beds (although the bed linen was awkward with a hole in the middle -purposefully done so).

The only thing that was a bit weird - the bathtub was not to be used in the bathroom, and had a large wooden plank over it. But it mostly looked strange, rather than have any negative aspect to it.

Wonderful place! Maybe the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in - mattress pillow and duvet all perfect, plus privacy curtains and spacious dorm. Met only lovely people in the common area and the staff were the kindest, sweetest, most helpful people. There’s a characterful onsen down the street, free to use. A sweet little laminated booklet full of local recommendations is given to each guest - I tried a few and they were all excellent places I would never have found otherwise. Wish I could stay longer ^^

Not even one little thing

Very well located and also has a car space. Very well priced. We had a family tatami room which was spacious. The girl at the reception was very lovely and gave us great advice on the onsens in the area. The guesthouse again accepted our luggage when we forwarded our bags from our previous destination. Will stay again if in Beppu again!

The carpet in the entry of our room was a bit tattered. The shower room was also quite dated but we didn't need to use it as we had been bathing in the onsens so no biggie in reality.

Wow, we got a free room upgrade! Also, wow, a complimentary onsen! It was rather traditional, so a bit of an older one, though. The tatami and futon combinations were lovely, as was the cute little table and cushions. Awesome staff! So grateful that they let us leave our luggage there.

We had to pay ¥50 each for the towel rentals since we'd had to check out in the morning before we could avail ourselves that afternoon of the complimentary onsen. But everything else was provided! We wish the bathtub in our room worked, but the shower was fine. So warm.

The location is 10 mins away walk to the seaside which is very nice. Also there is a view of the tower. I like how there is a common kitchen where you can heat your food and store your food. There are also cutleries and plates you can use. The check-in was very easy and the staff was nice. There's also a free ticket for a local onsen. The room was spacious.

The ambiance is a bit dark. I don't know why the window looking outside was blocked with a steel frame which makes the room dark without sunlight.

The room looks just like the photos. Everything is very clean and comfortable. The storage lockers are great if you need to store any valuables. The location is great and lots of places to explore by foot nearby. There’s a cool alley with some shops and a cafe/art shop called KURUKURU on the way to the JR station. The price is very reasonable. The owner and staff are very kind, helpful, and accommodating. I stayed here during typhoon no. 10 and ended up extending my stay due to the weather. I’m appreciative that I stayed here because of the comfort and cleanliness. I can’t thank them enough ☺️ They were also able to hold my luggage after I checked out.

I only stayed for one night sadly but this was a great place to stay in Beppu. It was a short ten minute walk from the station which I appreciated and I was able to store my luggage before check-in (no one was in reception when I arrived but there is a phone number you can call). The staff (and their cute Shiba Inu) were super lovely and make this place a great spot to stay in. I also enjoyed the lounge area and being able to sit at the counter facing outside. My room had 4 others in it and everyone was pretty quiet. The bathroom and toilet are in the room, I thought this would be noisy but thankfully it wasn’t. The price was super cheap for when I stayed, great value for money. Look forward to another visit one day.

I was on the bottom bunk and when the person on top moved around it shook the whole bunk slightly. My curtains had some gaps at the top that let some light in, but I had an eye mask which fixed the problem.

I really love this place! My partner and I stayed here and we’re glad we chose this place for our stay in Beppu. The tatami mats we’re comfortable, but the pillows were a bit hard. The front desk is also very friendly and helpful. It’s also near the station so it’s accessible. The shared kitchen has everything you need and it’s really nice that we can share the space with other guests. Will definitely choose this place again when I get back to Beppu. Thank you so much!

We opted for the japanese tatami room for family of 5. With all the mattresses laid out, there was still sufficient room for luggage and place to move around. There was a clothes rack and towel rack stand provided. The room was clean and had huge windows to let in natural light. It was only a 5-10mins walk to the train station and beach. The lobby area had a kitchen and dining table with sofas to hang out The real bonus was the daily free ticket to the local onsen bathhouse just 2mins by foot down the street. Granted it was a very basic bathhouse with shower using hot water drawn from the onsen pool; but the frequent arrival of locals taking their soak in the pool made you feel almost like part of the community.

The toilet was outdated and old. It used to have a "onsen" tub, but is has been covered up by a plank. More towel bars could have been created to allow hanging of wet towels in the bathroom
