The host, Bev, is a lovely lady committed to making your stay comfortable. Lovely walk alongside the River Trent (in both directions) directly in front of the house. Comfortable bed, great shower. Quiet and private at the top of the house. Close to amenities and A46. Good parking.

A coupe of small things: there is a microwave in the room, would be handy to have a small fridge; small desk or table to work from.

Perfect position for the night for where we needed to be. Nice, quiet location. Nice garden to sit in. Sheila is a lovely host and is always available if needed. Clear instructions on how to get there were given as the Post code and Sat Nav don't match. Very easy access off the A17. Ample parking available.

One of the twin beds was comfier than the other, but we didn't fight over the slightly better one!

Location was perfect as visiting the showground - hop out of bed and you were there. Room was nice and hostess was, lovely, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the 'secret garden' entrance.

Slightly challenging to find down the lane - so a sign off the road might have been helpful - but in a way the anonymity of the place was part of the charm and we did find it :-)

Absolutely amazing host couldn’t have done anymore for us we were attending an event at Newark Showground perfect location for overnight stay The breakfast was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble have great advice for eating out and transport to and from the venue The four legged friends were beautiful and welcoming too thanks a million had a great time Room was very warm

Nothing to complain about at all

Very friendly, nice outside space if you have time to spend there. Freshly cooked breakfast, nicely cooked eggs and bacon. Well tucked away location but with easy access to the main road.

Not really an issue however the garden gate was bolted when we returned about 10:30 pm. We couldn't get in until we realised there was another entrance.

The owner went out of her way to help us find the property and couldnt have done more for us. Very comfy beds and lovely large towels. Shower was okay. Ignore the bad reviews, this place has character and is very quiet.

Some signage to the property from the main road would have helped a lot.

the breakfast was really good, full all day my friend said that his mattress was on the way out, could feel the springs (mine was fine, really comfy. Room was very hot at night, could possibly have turned down heating a bit The value was fantastic 10/10 will defiantly book again for next year

Loved the location away from the busy city life. Lovely view of the countryside for walks etc & the Service was absolutely excellent. great value for money Will definitely stay there again👌👏👏👏👏👏

There wasn't anything to not like a very peaceful location to unwind in

bit remote pitch black coming back at night no lights to guide from car park to property didn’t sleep lovely large bed but metal springs coming through mattress had to lay on quilt to try not to feel them then put other duvets from spare bed on mattress to sleep on. it was shame cos that’s the only reason wouldn’t go back glad to get home to bed

All in all a very good overnight stop enroute to Northumberland. The facilities were good and the breakfast was excellent served by the hostess Sheila. Excellent value for money and a really nice touch having fresh milk in a fridge in the room made available for tea and coffee. Our beds were very comfortable too
