great location... beautiful hotel and well trained staff

impossible bathrooms...the sink was a flat plate with some holes. the water spilled everywhere. the bathtub very deep and uncomfortable and the water faucet complicated. The designer had no idea about comfort.

This is a true 5-star hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and you can really feel them attend to you. Breakfast is very good, and you get to use a few aspects of the spa for free as a guest. Very good location. Our only issue is that the hotel set the minimum room temperature For The Entire Hotel and All Rooms to 22 degrees Celsius (which is 72 fahrenheit) which is too hot for sleeping well. We had the concierge confirm that all rooms had this minimum. The thermostat went down to 15 degrees celsius on the little screen, but the hotel had a limiter so that the room actually stops cooling down at 22 degrees celsius. That is a problem. We had to have the concierge bring us a simple top sheet to use instead of a duvet as it was too hot in the middle of August with temperatures outside at 24-25 celsius all night long, and we completely kicked off the duvet. This is the reason I am rating this hotel as a "9" instead of a "10". Other than that this hotel is spectacular and we highly recommend it.

The hotel is a beautiful hotel, located next to the main street but a bit further away from the "old city". Room (305) was enormous and always clean. The staff is really lovely and housekeeping are very nice. Breakfast was excellent and plenty to pick from. Next door there is a family bakery and minimarket . Great spa included in the price that includes a jacuzzi and sauna. Wednsday evening there is a wine and chesse tasting event which was very nice and tasty. In the bathroom is a toilet, shower AND bathtub.. In my opinion the bathtub should have a curtain because the shower head would spray onto the shower door and flood the bathroom itself (the shower door seal wasn't 100%)

I wanted to stay smack in the center because of my friends walking disability but because of my lack of research we booked this hotel. I do however have 2 complaints about the room- The first: It was so hot in the room even with the A/C off and even when turning the A/C on the lowest setting. Second complaint is the matress. It was way to soft and me with a bad back it was hard to sleep. I did however ask for a more firm pillow and the staff was able to help with that.

The Grand Hotel Continental is a wonderful mix of elegance and warmth. The façade is grand yet welcoming, and the reception area is both beautiful and staffed with genuinely friendly people. The room was recently refurbished, with a very comfortable large bed, tasteful decoration, attention to details, and a stylish bathroom. The spa with a large jacuzzi pool was a real highlight: spotless, fragrant, and brand new. Overall, an excellent stay in a refined setting, and very good value for the experience. Location is perfect, quiet and close enough to the old town to walk there under 5 min.

The only small downside was the sink in the bathroom: while sleek and modern, its flat design wasn’t very practical... An explanation how to set up the safe box could be useful.

The room was very big being a suite. The hotel is quite opulent in a very good traditional style. Breakfast had good buffet choices including fish. Also various egg dishes cooked to order. The hotel is in a good position and only about a ten minute walk from Old Town.

The bathroom was a bit on the small size compared with the overall suite size. The worst thing was the 'ultra modern' wash basin which was oversize at about 750-800mm x 750-800mm square and not very useable. Instead of being a normal dipped sink it was near to flat and instead of a plug hole had seven holes in a line in the centre. Also the bathroom wall/door were glass with modesty strips which worked up to a point. In our opinion the bathroom style was totatlly out of keeping with the good traditional style of the rest of the suite. The 'English Club' style bar for us didnt have a very attractive bar which didn't encourage us to have a drink there.

The room was very charming and clean. The staff were courteous and helpful, and a highlight was the breakfast buffet, which had a wide range of foods, juices, coffee, and excellent pastries and sweets, as well as a bottle of prosecco for a bubbly brunch option. Great location and perfect for exploring Old Town Bucharest!

The only complaint about the room seems to apply to Romania in general - showers are open and have only a tiny glass partition that doesn't really separate them from the rest of the bathroom. This leads to a great deal of water splashing outside after even a short shower, so it is important to be careful when stepping out, especially since the tub is raised up from the rest of the bathroom.

Stayed for three nights in July 2024 as part of a trip around eastern Europe. Wonderful welcome received from reception staff who remained friendly and informative throughout our stay and would politely field any questions asked. Our room, on the third floor, was very large with an entrance hall, two full length windows and fantastic air conditioning. The room included a large, comfortable bed, ample storage, a safe, complimentary water, tea and coffee and a good sized fridge. There is a Carrefour mini market 3 minutes-walk away. The room was impeccably cleaned daily. Excellent free Wi-Fi was also included. The location is great, situated on the main through road and just a short walk from the Old Town with lots of varied restaurants, bars and shops in the surrounding neighbourhood. Access to the hotel spa was also included and a very welcome break after long days in the summer heat. The breakfast buffet was first class - varied and substantial and enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending. A great value hotel in a wonderful location.

The people that are working there.everyone will give you the answer to your question with a smile on their faces. Especially what made my day was the woman working across from the dining room where you can purchase coffee and cake. When we asked if we can get some milk for our room to make coffee she gave us a small metal container with hot milk on a plate with a napkin under it and all this with a big smile 😊. This says a lot about the hotel and I travel a lot. Excellent Breakfast !!! If hotels had a Michelin rating this hotel should definitely get one or two. Thank You 🙏 Hope to be back soon.

Excellent location in the city centre, not too far from the old town, major tourist spots and metro, Friendly and helpful staff, large, very comfortable and spotlessly clean room, high quality breakfast. Highly recommended, and will happily stay there again. Didn't use the spa, gym or sauna, but it was nice that the reception staff made it clear that the facilities were available for free on checking in,

My only very small quibbles were the relative lack of storage space for clothes for anyone, particularly a couple, staying for more than a few nights. The hotel bar might also have remained open for longer, but both of these are minor issues.
