We loved staying at Sejour Mint. It’s a cosy, welcoming hotel just a 5 minute walk up a quiet lane to the Goryu lifts. John and his staff are delightful! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, the food is delicious ( we especially loved the Shabu-Shabu ) and we would definitely stay here again in future. A big thank you also for driving us to the local clinic when our daughter fractured her wrist on the slopes, and for taking us to the bus station to catch the last connection on a very snowy evening. Such kindness was truly appreciated 😊

There was nothing we disliked about Sejour Mint. It’s a gem.

Staff - Jon was super helpful and accommodating, he picked us up from the train station. He even drove us to our other accommodation when our stay was complete. He also helped us out during our other accommodation crisis, which was much appreciated by our whole family. They even gave us a farewell gift of Japanese sweets/biscuits. Location - Was close to Goryu ski lifts, approx 10min walk up the hill (I walk slow). Close to the couple of restaurants near by, also 10min walk. Rooms - Clean, comfortable & functional and contained our family of 4. I would highly recommend staying here if you come to Hakuba.

Everything was to our liking, the only advice I would offer, is that the transient staff that work here could do with more training in hospitality/customer service. However, this did not deter from our stay here.

Jon and his staff were so accommodating and friendly. Sejour Mint is a very cosy and family friendly small hotel. It is less than 10min walk to Goryu.

The property was beautiful from the outside and extremely warm and cozy on the inside having many traditional elements including an onsen. Our stay was highlighted by exceptional staff, Jon was amazing, and the French and New Zealander girls were also incredible. The food was excellent (we had the Shabu-Shabu), and the rooms were very comfortable. The views in and around the hotel are absolutely stunning, and it is exceptionally well located, a very short walk from Goryu’s Escal Plaza. Jon was kind enough to drive us all the way to a restaurant booking on the other side of town when we couldn’t find a taxi, for such a busy man, this was incredibly helpful and selfless of him, such a great guy. Really the best stay we’ve had in 3 weeks going around Japan. Exceptional stay, 20/5.

Everything was great!

Our stay in Sejour Mint was amazing. Both Jon and Hidemi were accommodating hosts. Made our 5 day stay a pleasure. The room was clean and comfortable. The heating was good. Breakfast was simple but delicious. They also have dinner by request if you’d rather stay in and have dinner at the hotel. We went in February and the snow was beautiful. It was good to stay a few minutes walking distance to Goryu Hakuba 47 where we were snowboarding. What was special about this hotel was the friendly staff that made us feel at home. Definitely will consider booking another stay here again next season.

Great location, convenient for the slopes and some lovely little bars/restaurants. What really made it special though were the hosts, John and his wife, who are such interesting, welcoming and helpful hosts, going out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. This apparently rubbed off on the seasonal staff who were enthusiastic and friendly on all occasions. John provided transport when we couldn’t reserve a bus, helped us to find vegan food, recommended bars, gave guidance on off the beaten track activities in our onward locations and shared interesting stories with us…..it’s worth taking the time to chat to him! Nice hot bath in the basement; room for probably 3 people at a time but generally I was the only one there!

The beds were a little hard for me, but I’ve found that to be the case throughout our Japan travels, so not unique to this hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Sejour Mint was one of the most inviting and homely experiences I’ve ever had. The facilities were excellent — exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for accessing the Hakuba Goyru Snow Field, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the hotel offered affordable washing facilities and a relaxing onsen. Jon and his team went above and beyond — they picked us up upon arrival in Hakuba and even dropped us off at the bus stop when we checked out. I accidentally left my hat in Jon’s car, and once he realised, he drove back to the bus stop to make sure I got it back. We had the best time staying here, and I would highly recommend it to absolutely anyone.

We had the best time at Sejour Mint. Jon was very helpful and accomodating and went out of his way to help us with whatever we needed. Sasha and the rest of the team were also so lovely and helpful! The location was great, walking distance to the entry to Goryu and 47 and there are shuttle buses that take you to the rest of the valley. There is also a shuttle bus that can take you directly to goryu if you don’t want to walk. We visited Happo but found the area around Sejour Mint to be much more relaxing with much better restaurants and bars. Everything was clean and comfortable and we loved the communal vibe at breakfast in the morning. Will definitely be coming back!

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. John and his crew were very friendly and helpful with our booking, things to do around the mountain and any other queries we had. The location was perfect for us as we are avid snowboarders and only needed to hike a small distance to one of the main runs of Hakuba Goryu. If we travel, when we travel to Japan again, we will be staying here once again!

Our room had a window to the hallway which had a light. On some occasions during the night it would turn on and as the curtains were translucent some light would shine through interrupting our sleep. A simple fix with a different curtain would have made our time perfect!!

The staff were so lovely, always trying to help as best they could. The owner was lovely. The rooms were good size, good view, and comfy beds. Asked for another pillow and it was provided! The breakfast came with a couple slices apple, hashbrown, an egg (cooked different each day) and a couple slices of bacon or a couple sausages. This was quite good. Hot drinks were available at your convenience which was great and there is a vending machine right at the front door. There are a few great restaurants nearby, would recommend booking Canada Tai and a little ramen shack on the road close by. Restaurants didn’t seem as readily available as they are in Happo one, so if you’re after a more social scene for eating and drinking this may not be the location you’re after, however if you’re after the best mountain, this is the location! Goryu/47 is what we ranked to be the best. The hotel is a short walk up the hill to the base of the ski lifts, if you’re a skier would recommend wearing normal boots to the base and then putting on your ski books for some comfort and leaving your other boots in the lockers that are like $2. You’ll thank me later.
