Newly renovated and spacious rooms. Modern bath with shower and deep tub. Excellent lighting. Many outlets for chargers. Blackout drapes. Nicely pressed linens and ample towels. Lovely view of mountains. Convenient location to Goryu Escal Plaza only 5 minute walk but quite steep and plowing here is spartan due to snow volume. Hotel offers bus at convenient times to the Escal Plaza building but does not pick up to return to hotel so we opted to rent ski storage at the Escal Plaza to avoid heavy gear lifting on walk back at reasonable price of 509¥ per night. Can store walking boots during day as well. Food at hotel Is delicious with Japanese and European offerings and custom egg dishes nicely prepared by chef. Lots of fruits and veggies on breakfast buffet. Delicious breads and croissants too. Staff is friendly and well mannered to help with info, bus schedules, lift tickets and local taxis. A lovely manager who is always available until 9 pm and very courteous. Onsen is a delight. Most evenings no one but us in the onsen tho shared use.

Adorable grandmother greeted us on arrival, helped set the tone. Nice sized rooms and seem as though they were recently renovated. We had a view up the mountain with glimpses of a ski run. Clean property. Good quality linen, mattresses, and pressed yukata for the baths. Ski gear warming room in the basement as is the bath. We found it difficult to get info while planning, so I'm going to share some info that might help. We were coming from Kyoto so took the shinkansen to Nagano then transferred to another train to Matsumoto then a local train (Oito Line) to Kamishiro. This is the closest station to Stelle Bella and they will pick you up from there - it's literally just a few minutes drive away from the property. FYI: There is a bus from Hakuba to Nagano Station takes ~ an hour. Skiing/Riding: 6-7 min walk up the hill to Escal Plaza which is the main center. From here you have access to two ski areas, Goryu and Hakuba47. You will need to take a bus or drive for other areas in the Hakuba Valley. You will need an IC card 500yen for a discounted ski pass which helpfully can be purchased from the front desk of the property. The IC card is refundable at the end of your stay in Hakuba. If wanting better standard ski or boarding gear the rental service on the second floor of Escal Plaza is very good. F&B: Turn left out of the property to our favorite izakaya, "Kamui", just a few minutes' walk away. Excellent service, food, ambience and also well priced.

Stelle Belle was the perfect choice for our ski trip. It actually is only a five minute walk from Escal Plaza, even if there’s snow to walk through. We provided our arrival time in the chat the day prior and received a prompt response, our driver was ready and waiting when we arrived at Goryu station which was great as it was dark and there was quite a bit of snowfall. We booked the Western style room with a large double (king size) bed and there was plenty of space - we could have both our suitcases open and still have room to move. The bed itself is super comfy and you get a soft/firm pillow option. There’s basement floor access and lockable storage for all your wet ski gear downstairs, and a vending machine for snacks and drinks, coffee, etc. The outdoor miso tub onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes and 30mins is more than enough as the water is pretty hot. Staff were super friendly and helpful for all our needs and recommended places to eat on a cute hand drawn map of the area. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely go back!

Great location, a steep-ish walk up at the end of the street towards escal plaza but manageable (for an unfit person like me) but be careful as it can get slippery. Great being able to ski back to hotel when there’s still snow that hasn’t yet been cleared :) Excellent breakfast and lots of dinner options in the area. We stayed for 11 nights and very comfortable throughout our stay.

The bathroom didn’t have much hanging space for towels, bathrooms in Japan are small but even a couple of hooks outside the bathroom door would have helped.

- Relatively close to Escal Plaza (ie ski lifts, rental, etc) with it being a 5-7 min walk however it's uphill and the road can be a little icy/slippery at times - Large room size for a Japanese hotel

- Basement shared bath was quite small (max 3 people) - Dated interior, in my case the enclosure of one of the ceiling lights had partially detached from the ceiling - No dinner (there's a pricy dinner that you can book every few days - around 7000-10000+ yen iirc) but you can walk to nearby restaurants, pubs or Escal Plaza if the weather is calm

Large rooms, with en-suite. And rooms were pretty warm too. The staff at the reception were always very courteous and ready to help. She spoke understandable English too, good enough for me! The breakfast buffet was a little pricey, however the spread was really good. They also pick you up and drop you off at the nearby bus station for those coming in the winter season

Short walk from escal plaza, although the path is a little uphill.

We were a couple and stayed in a triple room, the extra space was great. We had 2x single beds with a couch and a futon. Clean, standard kind of room, beds were hard but I am told this is quite standard in Japan. The hotel was ~250m from Hakuba Goryu so we walked up there each day. We discovered on our last day the hotel bus also could have driven us (read the hotel info when you get there!). It was our first time in Hakuba and we were happy to ski between Hakuba Goryu & Iimori (they connect at the top) so we didn't need to explore shuttle buses further. The hotel bus took us to the train station on our last day free of charge. We bought our lift passes from the hotel which was a little cheaper than on the mountain. Great wet room to store ski gear in The two main reception staff working during our stay were very helpful and spoke relatively good english-we were grateful and impressed. If something we asked in english wasn't understood straight away, it didn't take long to explain another way for it to be understood. We also met one of the owners while at a nearby food truck spot, and he was lovely to talk to. We used the private onsen once which was 1000 Y (~$ 10 AUD)- it was a fun experience. We also used the public onsen which was clean & a fun experience too. There was a tax to pay for this at the end of our stay ~$15 AUD which we hadn't noted (it applies to all guests I believe) but this wasn't a huge deal. Laundry- purchased washing powder from the reception for 50 yen (50c) and the washing machine & dryer were 100yen coin operated - I can't remember exact costs now but something like 200 yen to wash and 400 yen to dry.

We had no complaints or issues about our stay here.

First ski trip from UK to Japan and Hotel Stelle Belle couldn't have been a better choice. A great location for Goryu slopes; a friendly, helpful team; but best of all was breakfast! A fantastic array of options that would be hard to beat- different egg options most days, various hot options as well as cereal and toast (and Earl Grey tea). Rooms are adequate rather than luxurious, and would benefit from more shelf or draw storage - but have everything you need. Ensuite was small but clean with good shower and bidet toilet. We also made use of the hotel bus for pickup and drop off at the Hakuba-Goryu bus stop. A fantastic time and highly recommended!

Great location, 2 min walk from the goryu slope. The staff were incredible, they helped with pick-up from the train station and helped give local recommendations, as well as helping us get a discount at a local ski shop. We are very grateful to the staff, especially one of the drivers, who helped drive us to a train station 30 mins away, since the local trains weren’t running due to heavy snow! Thank you so much. We will definitely be staying here again in future.

We liked the service from Junko and all the staff. As we were travelling with young children the shuttle bus was very useful to help us collect our ski stuff from the local rental shop (Yamaha) and then deliver us to the local resorts Goryu or Iimori. You need to ask the front desk for this service. Breakfast was good with a mix of western and Japanese. The Japanese rooms were very comfortable and we bed shared with our baby and toddler (we don't do this at home) and really enjoyed it.

More storge hooks/shelves in the rooms to hang towels/clothes and to put away our 'stuff' would have been useful. Not the best hotel for young children because the shared bathrooms were far away from our Japanese stylevbedroom.
