First time and we come back Casa del Tio is a small hotel in downtown San Miguel (about 400 m to the main square and the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel and surrounding attractions). Unfortunately they serve on this place only a small (cold) breakfast but offer to have a full breakfast (also included) in the sister hotel Casa Don Quijote (650 m downhill. The staff is friendly and helpful with your car (there is no onsite parking, as in almost all downtown hotels in SMA). The two rooms that we had booked were very quiet. The best place is their roof top terrace where you enjoy spectacular views of SMA.

It was centrally located to most everything worth seeing. Also a spectacular view from the piazza. Great & helpful staff.

That the free breakfast was .7 mile walking distance from the boutique hotel but had some good choices.

The location was great and the rooms very nice. Our group had 4 rooms, all different style and beautifully done. The beds were huge and very comfortable. There are two options for breakfast: 1.You have to let them know in advance so they bring you breakfast on the rooftop where you have a great view of the town and the cathedral (we never did that). 2. You walk several blocks down the street to their other property and you choose your breakfast from their menu. You get to order one item + a juice or a fruit platter. The menu items were great - delicious and pretty substantial for breakfast. Also the staff was kind and really helpful. We ended up having an issue with our flights and the receptionist went so far of her way to help us even offered her local credit card as ours wouldn't go through. Eventually, we didn't have to use it but were quite amazed at the offer. All in all it was a great stay.

I think that the bathrooms could benefit from improved upkeep. They were very clean, but bathrooms tend to accumulate moist and over time this results in visible signs ;)

The location of Casa del Tio is fantastic, close to everything and relatively quiet. The rooftop patio has an amazing view and that is where breakfast is served. Our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast of fruit, yogurt, granola, juice and coffee was very fresh.

The wifi was poor, going in and out no matter where we were in our room. The breakfast was very slow in terms of delivery. They said it would take 20 minutes but it took a lot longer. Our room (Chocolate) was great but some of the rooms on the lower levels appeared to lack privacy. I would request a room on the upper levels.

I liked because it’s comfortable, all clean, good safety place, the room’s name is like colors and flavors and the room smells like name, my room was chocolate and smelled to chocolate and wood because has wood on the roof, i’m sure that it’s perfect for couples. San miguel de allende it’s a little magical town and beautiful place the people it’s very nice, and quiet place. I’m sure you’ll love it.

I didn’t like they don’t have parking lot, it’s far from hotel, but they have a valet parking and you don’t need your car for going to the plaza because it’s exactly 3 blocks down. They don’t have kitchen and only you can get room service I don’t remember the time available but they can give you a gift certificate for a breakfast for another hotel so that you know it, and it’s very nice too but it’s far from hotel el tio like 7 or 8 blocks down and you can walk like a 10 or 15 minutes.

Very nice small hotel just a few blocks off the main square. Continental breakfast served in your room or on the rooftop with a great view. Or you could walk down to their sister hotel, with a restaurant/bar, for an included full breakfast (which was just OK. But in a town with hundreds of restaurants, hard to compete!) Great coffee shops just down the street. Great hot shower, comfy bed, good air conditioning. Nice staff.

An equipment closet outside our room (Chocolate room) has a weird, loud clicking sound throughout the night. Hot water heaters or water pumps, not sure, but kind of annoying. Maybe a different room higher up would be away from that?

The staff at this hotel is super nice. Everyone we came in contact with treated us really well. The room was comfortable and the location was good, just tree blocks or so from the center of town. In short, great facility and great staff. Although they don’t have parking onsite, they provide valet service that parks the car and delivers it for you. Also, they do not have hot breakfast, but they bring a tray of fruit, bread (croissant, etc.), coffee and juice to your room upon request (just give them 20 minutes to prepare it). They do provide a ticket to go to another hotel in case you want a hot breakfast, but the “sister” hotel is a good 7 blocks away. We chose the tray in the room. A good place to stay.

I wish they offered some kind of hot breakfast (at least eggs), as not everyone can eat bread (gluten allergies) and fruit.

The room was large and comfortable. Great location close to everything, but very quiet for a good night’s sleep. There were nice large windows and good AC. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided anything requested. Three out of the 4 breakfasts I enjoyed were at the hotel several blocks away, and those were excellent and plentiful. The one I enjoyed on the rooftop at Casa Del Tio was also lovely—continental breakfast that they delivered upstairs for me.

Definitely the options for breakfast. The bottled water and the coffee machine in the room. were very much appreciated. The hot water in the shower was wonderful, great way to end each day. The roof top area was very nice, lovely view of the city! The staff on site 24 hours was also very much a plus.

We had a great 16-night stay at Casa del Tío Boutique Hotel. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The highlights of our stay was the rooftop, where we enjoyed our breakfast and took in the views. The provided breakfast was a great way to start each day, with fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, coffee, and even pastries. The location close to the Jardín makes this hotel a great choice.
