One of my favourite hotels in Greece - a little hidden gem in the Peloponnese with friendly staff, great location, and beautiful views.

I was previously here in October 2024, and while I greatly enjoyed this latest stay (in June 2025), I found that local teenagers being allowed into the hotel’s small beach/private swimming area, running, shouting, spitting and playing music on their phones ruined the experience. This is despite many other public swimming spots nearby. A real shame for paying guests trying to unwind and relax (we could hear other hotel guests complaining to one another too). We ended up paying to go swim and relax at other hotels, unfortunately. Before I return, I hope this policy will change.

5 stars isn't enough for this place! 😍 I just spent 4 nights at this stunning waterfront hotel and I'm still pinching myself. The sea views are literally breathtaking - every morning I'd wake up to a glistening sunrise over the water, and every evening I'd watch the sunset paint the sky with hues of pink and orange. 🌅 The breakfast spread is delightful, with plenty of options to start your day off right. And the rooms? Comfy doesn't even begin to describe it. The shower is like a little slice of heaven, and the cleanliness and ample space make you feel like you're living large. 🛏️🚿 If you're looking for a quiet relaxing getaway with unbeatable views, look no further. This hotel has it all! Short stroll into the beautiful restaurants in Pilos town.

We love the town of Pylos and Karalis has a unique location under the fortress wall at the end of a shady street (this was our 3rd stay with them). The rooms are very charming and comfortable with an amazing view of the town/bay from the large balcony/terrace. Breakfast is excellent with a good variety of food (hot fresh egg dishes also upon request) and excellent service (and great bottomless espressos and cappuccinos). There is also a great/large sun deck with unique swim spot and “pool” bar on the property. We always enjoy some great meals a casual stroll away from the hotel and this trip also hiked a to a local “hidden” beach nearby.

Nothing worth mentioning!

The location couldn’t be better! Right next to the sea, very peaceful and with easy parking, yet only a pleasant 5 minute stroll into the delightful town of Pylos. Sun terrace with sunbeds and brollies on different levels, and direct access by steps into the beautiful clear sea. We had no trouble getting sunbeds and it was very quiet and relaxing. Our room was very comfortable, with a modern tasteful bathroom, gorgeous private balcony looking straight out to sea, and efficient air conditioning. Breakfast was very good served on the top floor overlooking the bay. Nice choice of hot and cold dishes and fresh orange juice. Would highly recommended this hotel.

Everything was excellent. Maybe just a bit expensive but worth it for a few days!

The location of the hotel is superb- wonderful views of the Navarino Bay and with direct access for swimming off the terrace. Breakfasts were also excellent - great selection and choice served by friendly and very attentive staff. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful ensuring that we had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Some attention to maintenance of our room was needed- the sliding fly screen had no external handle making it difficult to close from the balcony. Some of the decor also needs updating -there was peeling wall paper in our room and the woodwork was bit scruffy. The shower - with two fittings- was excellent but let down by a useless shower curtain - investing in a proper screen would have made it function much better. These are small details but would improve the experience. We didn’t appreciate the loud music playing from the beach bar- it wasn’t necessary and spoiled relaxing to the beautiful sounds of the waves.

This hotels location is the highlight. It’s close enough to walk to all the shops/restaurants in under 5 min, but has more quiet and privacy. The ocean front location was also amazing, we loved swimming directly off the cliffs at the hotel, just steps from our room. The staff were also wonderful. The first room we were placed in had construction going on and shaking our walls. They were able to move us to a nicer room with a fabulous deck. We really appreciated it! Finally the included breakfast was delicious and had lots of options including full coffee/freddo options made fresh to our order. If you’re staying in pylos and looking for a peaceful stay with an epic view, I’d definitely recommend this hotel!

The showers were a bit dated, but overall the hotel was wonderful.

I had a beautifully tranquil stay at The Karalis Beach hotel. The location is gorgeous, with views of the New Castle of Pylos to one side and the incredible blue expanse of Navarino Bay to the other. I had a comfortable room with calming decor, well equipped with a coffee machine and mini-fridge, and a balcony overlooking the bay. Breakfast (plenty of good choices), is served on the top floor, perched over the water. The views are almost too beautiful to seem real. Fish below make an appearance every morning and thrash about, devouring bread thrown over the railings. The outdoor terraces are suspended over the rocks with incredible views at every height and angle. Sturdy steps decend from the lower terrace into brilliantly clear water - still warm in the last week of October. A short walk up to the end of the road leads to part of the castle, a walled expanse with enhanced views of the entrance to the bay. An equally short walk leads to the proper entrance to the castle, which is a huge space to explore including the impressive ruins, a beautiful garden, and yet more incredible views of the bay. The hotel staff are genuinely kind, friendly, and happy to advise about places to visit and to arrange transport with local taxi drivers, especially Panos, the lovely driver booked for both my airport transfers and a couple of trips. During my stay, I visited the Polylimnio waterfalls, a mountain acrross the bay with towering wind turbines, (and a tiny church open just one day of the year every May!), Giolava lagoon, and Voidokilia beach. All spectacular, and all within easy reach of the hotel. Its a testimony to the beauty of the hotel and its immediate vicinity that I enjoyed spending time there as much as visiting these famous locations. I do plan to make a return trip. The hotel itself and the area offer so much beauty (and peace, in October), and the exceptional kindness and hospitality of the staff made my visit unforgettable.

Nothing to dislike.

The location of the hotel is very nice. It is located at the end of the street and right at the foot of the castal. Parking is really easy which is a plus. Our room is facing the BBQ and bar area which is very nice to have a sunset view. Breakfast was nice with plenty of chooice.

The design of the shower room is awkward. The shower head faces the door, making it nearly impossible to use without spraying water outside. You have to hold the shower head with one hand the entire time, which is quite inconvenient.

Hotel by the sea and room balconies over the sea and great in every detail! With bathroom sunbeds, even king size beds with pillows and towels free of charge. 4 steps from the clean sea. Bar with drinks, juices and light dishes from 11:00 am and the best view of the area. Elias is the soul of the bar and a “swiss army” knife!!! Great variety of food for breakfast (from 7 to 10:30!) and of excellent quality. Fruits, cheese, ham, eggs, mushrooms, juice, coffees, sweets, coffee etc. Also, ready sandwiches to go. Very friendly personnel, change towels every day. Very historic place with the hotel just under the almost 500 old castle. First our hosts were wonderful. From the desk to management. There was trouble with plumbing in our room prior to our arrival on day of check in, on a Sunday. No chance of a plumber coming on Sunday. The hotel manager contacted me directly and made excellent alternative arrangements for us at their sister property Karalis City, in the same penthouse type room, also with a really special view. That room was clean and recently remodeled, wonderful, with a bottle of wine waiting, and a full breakfast with attentive staff the next morning. We moved to Karalis beach the second day for the rest of our stay, and that penthouse suite overlooking the water was a joy. Nice staff from front desk, to breakfast service, to tiki bartender. My wife and I spent a couple peaceful days to ourselves here and enjoyed every moment.
