We got Block A with easy access to Block B where 1 of the 3 pools are. There are also a multitude of other accommodation that ranges from glamping tents to chalets on the dam. Room was close to the breakfast room. Breakfast is very good and more than adequate with a good variety. Room was comfortable with TV ( with Open View channels). Coffee facilities in room with a bar fridge. Bed was comfortable.Large play area onsite for kids if you have any . Onsite restaurant. We have stayed in Oudtshoorn multiple times and always end up here due the variety of different accommodation types. Close to the Cango Caves and about 18 km to town. Grounds are very well kept and many different animal on the premises for kids to see. Bass fishing also available in the dam.
The bathroom barn door was a bit sticky and a hairdryer for the lady would have been nice but nothing too serious

Breakfast was good. Restaurant meal on day of arrival was very good
We expected a two room cottage. However, when we checked in, we were assigned two separate rooms for the three adults, at opposite ends of Block A. When my wife queried this arrangement, and the fact that it was not self catering, the receptionist informed her that that was what we had chosen. Either the choice we made was incorrect and we presumed that it was self catering or the description of our chosen accommodation was incomplete?? My wife got the feeling that this was not the first time the receptionist had been faced with a similar complaint. We were able to hire a gazebo with utensils for self catering at an additional cost of R150.00

The fact that you see these beautiful mountains ahead of you when you arrive at the front gate just screams Fantasy! It was out in the open, perfect weather, perfect location. Green, soft, airy. There are lots to do on the property, swimming pools, ostriches and even a cute labrador pup that is welcoming everyone. The property and rooms are very clean and well designed with a modern look. Which I love! Beds are soft and comfy. When you walk into the rooms there is a lovely clean and fresh scent that enters your body. That is something I will never forget.

Wonderful location. Black staff were very friendly and efficient - including the outside workers who made sure they greeted you and returned a cheerful good morning as you passed by. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice. Meal in the restaurant was good. Nice walks around the property. Room was air conditioned. Pools are well maintained and outside areas are clean and fresh. Pool towels provided.
I wouldn't say 'didn't like' but there are issues with staying somewhere rural. Kitchen had ant infestation - easily cleaned up and not harmful. Just not v nice. Water needs filtering before drinking - it's brackish out of the tap. Hot water takes an age to come through to the shower wasting precious water (unless it's recycled onto the land?). In the property: Sheets were low in cotton so a bit warm and bobbly. Sofa bed/couch didn't convert to a couch properly so uncomfortable to sit on. Bathroom door needs attention. Only one TV channel. Load shedding meant it was hot at night. Finally: White staff were slightly grumpy or ignored you as you walked by!

The breakfast was a great spread and good value for money. The farm is beautiful, clean and offers a lot of entertainment for children and adults such as a pool, animals to view trampolines, swings and a play area. I really enjoyed the view of the mountains, and the early morning walk on the farm.
The welcome was a bit abrupt and there isn't a phone in the room in case you need to call reception with questions or for an emergency. The remotes didn't have any batteries but later on were given when requested. Nothing works during loadshedding. We didn't have more than 2hrs a day but should it have carried on for longer, this might have been a real issue.

Our recent stay at De Oude Meul was truly enchanting, thanks to its beautiful gardens and impeccable service. The lush, well-maintained gardens provided a serene backdrop, creating a tranquil atmosphere that enhanced our overall experience. The cleanliness and freshness of the rooms were noteworthy, reflecting the accommodation's commitment to maintaining high standards. It was evident that the staff took great care in ensuring a comfortable and inviting environment for guests. The friendly and attentive staff further contributed to our positive impression. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome and added a personal touch to our stay. Additionally, having a delightful restaurant on the premises was a convenient and enjoyable feature. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, and we were impressed by the quality of the food. Our mornings were a delight, thanks to the delicious breakfast served at the accommodation. It's a place we would highly recommend for those seeking a peaceful retreat with exceptional service.

I loved it, it was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious. The grounds were well maintained and the livestock was interesting. I would have liked to have been able to stay another night but we were on a tight schedule.
I liked everything, we had a very comfortable double room. Two of our group, who were sharing a twin room, weren’t quite as enthusiastic, they felt our double room was of better quality than their twin room and the price was the same.

The Lodge is on an active farm, and it was fun seeing all the animals. We saw all the little lambs running out to the fields, ostriches, deer and antelope, a cow, and a very friendly old dog who enjoyed walking with us all over the farm. The breakfast was wonderful, and the rooms were basic but neat. For the price, it was good value for money.
Everything was good, but basic. Next time, I would upgrade to a nicer room that looks over the dam or over the big lawn where the deer and antelope are. Just for the view.

A very nice and lovely place with tasty breakfasts and dinner. The territory is big and beautiful. There are enclosures with ostriches and springboks there which children may especially like. Fishing rods for fishing in their pond are also available there, so despite the location is quite remote from the town, there is still a lot to do on the territory for adults and children. The room was clean and nice with all the necessary things

The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the variety of the breakfast. The room was very large and comfortable. Pity the weather was rather cold when we visted as the terrace and in built bbq looked wonderful.
The only shortcoming was that the heating in one of the rooms was not working and so it was rather cold. Management however brought us a portable heater for the second night which resolved the inconvenience. They were very helpful.
