Hotel Sunplaza 2 is my go-to every time I visit Osaka—I genuinely won’t stay anywhere else. It’s incredibly basic, but the location is unbeatable and the value for money is spot on. I especially appreciate the clean, well-maintained public bath, which I’ve always been able to use without issue despite having tattoos—a real bonus in Japan.

The main drawback is the building layout: most floors are only accessible via a single elevator, which can be frustrating. I’d happily take the stairs if the lower floors weren’t all smoking rooms. Even as a smoker, I’d prefer a fully non-smoking hotel with outdoor ashtrays instead. Still, for the price and convenience, it’s hard to beat.

The location was a great place. Just right outside the hotel is the train station, making it easy for transport and was close enough to the main city area as well as other big places. Also, they did have an English speaking staff to help for my check-in but you should be able to get by with the other staff members as well.

Only thing was about the walls being pretty thin so you can hear people coming out of their hotels and some engines revving in the streets (though that has nothing to do with the hotel). Although, I think people who stayed were generally courteous enough to be quiet when staying in the hotel. And room was slightly crammed but that's expected so just a heads up

It’s within my budget, good location, toilet and powder room in every floor even though those are shared, enough amenities, early check-in, and the free kakigori event during my stay. At first I was worried about the shower rooms on the first floor but it was actually decent with three shower units and a toilet for women. The shared space was comfortable for eating and there were few people at the time I had my lunch. I advise the guests to bring small tumblers or mugs for the free drinks since the paper cups are small. In the bedroom, the futon bedding and duvet were really comfy that I was able to sleep well. Aircon, refrigerator and tv worked well, too. Note that the single private room (not the Japanese room one, idk how this looks like irl) is small, enough for a 4’11”girl like me but it looks difficult to bring in a medium-sized luggage. It’s very near a train station, convenience stores, and Tennoji park! The staff were so approachable, too.

The pillow is slightly uncomfortable or maybe I’m just not used to that kind of pillow. I was still able to sleep properly tho. The free towel is too thin, and not as big as the usual bath towels, so maybe bring an extra thick one. The toothbrush was too hard for me, too. The walls are thin that I could hear the next room’s phone conversation (although that guy really spoke too loud) but they have earplugs. I ended up not using that coz the guy next room became quiet in the evening. Despite those, my stay was still great! Those won’t stop me from booking this hotel again.

Free drinking water refill. Free unlimited coffee. I love the shampoo. Location is very near the train station.

Rooms are not soundproof...next door neighbors can be heard...

I really liked the location: close to the subway. Also, what the room lacked in space, the lobby more than made up for. This is a great place to stay if you plan on not spending much time in your room.

It's a little noisy in the morning, with people getting up and going out, so I couldn't sleep late. They do provide complimentary ear plugs--which I didn't ask for--so ask for those early just in case.

If you just need an inexpensive but clean safe place to sleep, this is it. The rooms are very small. If you get a single room with a twin bed, there isn't room to open your suitcase. I made sure I get a room with a set of Futon mattress so I can roll up the futon and have a floor space to spread my belongings. Bring your own bath towel. They'd sell you one for 300 yen but it's rather small and not absorbing like a typical new towl. The shared spaces are clean and pleasant. If you don't mind a dorm type accommodation, it's a very good place. A great location. 1 min to a subway station, 2 min to a JR station, 5 min to a Nankai station.

Very good Location, Shin-Sekai is a 5 min walk away and a Metro-Station 1min and the JR-Loopline 5 min. Clean an friendly Staff. Free mini Towel and Toothbrush with Toothpaste on arrival

The Bath is just for men, It woukd be goot if that could change from Day to day. The Pilow was just a Sack of plastic Tubes (probably the most hygienic solution). The Walls and Doors have no Insulation, if you are sensitiv to noise it is nothing for you. But they Offer free Earplugs aswell

It was my second time staying here. Aside from the great price/value of the rooms, the location of Hotel Sunplaza 2 is very convenient, so I always try to book my stay here whenever I go to Osaka. The nearest station Shin-Imamiya is only about a 5 minute walk and there are Family Mart convenience stores nearby too. Since we stayed during halloween season, the staff gave us free treats (sweets and snacks) to try. Showers are 24/7. There are 3 shower rooms in the female section, and toiletries and hairdryers are included.

The hotel only provides a very small towel, so I usually bring my own towel.

Great location right by Tennoji park, many interesting shopping and dining areas around the hotel. There's a street to the east of the hotel that heads south that's full of karaoke bars too. Clean hotel with free hot drinks at any time down in the lobby.

The free towels provided are basically hand towels made of gauze so bring your own. Rooms have no soundproofing whatsoever so you can hear pretty much anyone talking above a whisper anywhere on your floor.

Near Dobutsuen Mae (Osaka Metro) station and Shin Imamiya (JR) station. The cheapest hotel i ever stayed in Japan. It has pantry complete with kitchen, microwave, water dispenser (so no need to buy drinking water) and ice dispenser. Shower is located at 1F (lobby).

The room is very small. Luckily I just bring 2 backpacks. May not suitable if you have lots of luggage. Elevator is facing the main entrance,so it is quite improper when you want to go shower or coming back from shower. However, overall I am satisfied and worth the price.
