Ladybird Lodge was a lovely choice – the rooms were spacious, and the property features two pools, which was a great bonus. The winery and wine tasting on-site are currently closed, but they offer an alternative tasting at a nearby vineyard. It was a very quiet and peaceful stay, and we really appreciated the relaxing atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly. We preferred going out for meals to have more variety, so keep that in mind if you like dining options. Overall, it’s a great spot for a quiet weekend getaway or for exploring the wine region, as long as you don’t mind short drives to Stellenbosch, Babylonstoren, or even a bit further to Franschhoek.

Wow!!! This was truely a beautiful place to stay. I just loved the setting on the dam. Even the chilly weather was not enough to stop us from sitting on the veranda watching the sun set and waking early to see the light rise from the distance. We were lucky enough to see the two resident Otters one eveing playing in the water below. The staff were suberb and accommodated my early morning start for meetings with an early, full breakfast, before I had to leave. Much appreciated. The room was a really lovely size and the little kitchenett was a welcome surprise. We saw the two pools and were able to enjoy lunch on the far deck in the warm sun. I would definately come again. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Wow, wow, wow what a little piece of heaven Lady bird is, from the moment you drive in it felt like paradise. Rooms are spacious and clean, property is breathtaking and very well kept. Has some of the wine off there estate and will highly recommend it. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and wow was it tasty and great portions. The staff made us feel completely at home and I can't wait to go back.

Loved everything

A comfortable hotel nestled along the edge of a vineyard overlooking a small lake. The rooms are very spacious. Ladybird Lodge is about 10KM out of Stellenbosch but it is an easy drive - and it is also readily accessible to Franschoek and Paarl.

The access to the Lodge is off a very busy road and the turning point can be a bit tricky to see at night with the glare of headlights. Perhaps a more substantial sign in addition to the traditional Brown Sign would be helpful.

We stayed at Ladybird Lodge for one night, and from the moment we've arrived, We were blown away by the level of service. The staff was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The room was spotless, with elegant decor and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The attention to detail was evident in everything, from the high-quality toiletries to the handwritten welcome note. The breakfast was exquisite, Overall, it was a flawless experience. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxury escape or overnight stay.

The location was great. Breakfast was good and staff friendly.

The unit was very very dusty with someone else’s hair in the corners. The stairs to the suite upstairs was full of dead flies which the staff didn’t bother to clean in 3 days. The bathroom has a terrible stench coming from the shower drain and the bath was plug gadget was soo dirty that I couldn’t bath. No coffee or milk the first night. Makeup stains on the white fresh towels provided.

Ashwill, the person who checked us in was very accommodating with our check in time. We needed an earlier check in as we were attending a wedding in the area. The room was big as was the bathroom. Although there is no air conditioning, enough blankets were supplied as well as a heater. The breakfast was your standard bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and toast.

I missed having a shower cap as the shower head was quite huge.

The Breakfast was amazing, we had a variety to choose from which was good. The views were amazing and breathtaking, I saw the pictures online and even though we did not explore the entire place, the part that we were in was beautiful and can't wait to visit again so that we can do a tour of the place.

It was a bit cold and they did not have any robes or gowns as we did not want to stay in bed for the entire duration of the stay. The heater in the room did not help at all with making it warm, but I cannot wait to visit in the summer again.

Very clean and efficiently run. Fantastic Breakfast which had a huge range from yoghurt, cereals, fruit, juice to a full fry up. Lovely looking over the small lake, lots of water birds to watch too!

The pillows were very hard, and our room was not in a good location, basically right by the outside entertainment area so it didn't feel very private. However the rest of the rooms did not have this issue.

Breakfast was great. Location was beautiful, on a lake with vineyards all around. Could see Table Mtn.

Signage should be a lot better, it is part of Laibach but we were not told that and had to ask for directions. The phone number is a central office in JHB and closes at 4pm. Reception has a phone number, why not use that? Not enough plugs in the room, could not use the kettle and TV at the same time. A phone charger plug in the room would be useful.
