Our stay at Angala Boutique Hotel was nothing short of magical—a true sanctuary for the soul nestled in the heart of South Africa's Cape Winelands. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a warm embrace of hospitality and serenity. Angala is truly a bit of heaven on earth—a place where time slows, hearts open, and presence becomes everything. Every moment for us felt like a return to something divine. The serene atmosphere, with its lush gardens and tranquil pools, provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation - a sanctuary where nature, spirit, and stillness converge. Special thanks to Nikki( Nikisha) for his insightful approach to healthy cuisine that added a a nourishing touch to our dining experiences. Also special thanks to Sereen, whose warm and loveable energy brightened our mornings and made every day start with a smile. We truly experienced a bit of heaven on earth during our stay at Angala. With gratitude and love, William and Grace

Nothing. everything was perfect.

We really enjoyed the breakfast. Yogurt, fruit and honey followed by toast and cooked if ordered. The dining area is beautiful and quiet and the staff are delightful and always smiling and helpful.

Our room had an outside shower as well as inside and the facilities were great. However. There were no curtains or blinds at all !!!. I went outside and the privacy coating on the glass was very good but it did not stop the feeling of being on display we had when inside the bathroom. Even though the window covering was not absolutely necessary it was for us and we would have been far happier if something had been there for us to pull across. The evening meal only had 2 choices. I had the vegetarian to try it. the main course was a vegetable stir fry, which, all though pretty and tasty was unimaginative in todays restaurant world. There are so many different vegetarian ideas. They could have done better and it was expensive for a vegetable stir fry.

The property is exceptional. A beautifully designed and tucked away gem with so many amenities and laid out to provide a tranquil respite from our busy world. The staff are all very professional and attentive and go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Everywhere is special. Whether relaxing in the sitting areas, walking in the fabulous vegetable garden, relaxing in the pool or sauna, or simply walking or jogging on the surrounding trails there is nothing not to like about this hotel.

The location is truly superb, including the proximity to excellent wine estates. The various pool options are excellent, and the room was very comfortable. Sauna is great. Beautiful sunset views. The complementary wine and Nespresso in the room are great.

Expected a more premium experience for the price. For the steak dinner, we weren't asked about our preference for how it should be done - although it was delicious nonetheless. No guarantee of being able to use the wine-tasting voucher at Rupert and Rothschild when they are fully booked during peak times. Angala should recommend to guests beforehand that they should make a reservation in advance if they want to make use of the voucher during peak times.

Our experience at the hotel was nothing short of remarkable, largely due to its tasteful and inviting decor. The design was a beautiful fusion of simplicity and elegance, with thoughtfully arranged seating areas that offered captivating views, making each moment a delight to the senses. The hotel's spa facilities were fantastic offering steam / sauna / 2 pools / Jacuzzi. What made our stay truly unforgettable was the prompt and attentive staff, who catered to our every need, ensuring a hassle-free experience. The peace and tranquility that enveloped the hotel was the ultimate cherry on top, creating a serene retreat from the outside world. A truly memorable stay!

The only negative was the iron in the room as it didn’t hold water inside so was hard to iron the clothes without steam. But I’m sure if I called the reception they would have brought me one that would be compatible with water, also they did have a laundry service that I could of used.

Wonderful boutique hotel nested in the vineyards. I booked because I wanted to try a natural pool. Not only the pool was amazing but also the whole spa experience with sauna, hammam, cold plunge and jacuzzi! Overall we loved our 2 night stay at Angala. We felt very special and all the staff were nice to us The hotel itself is amazing, comfortable and I loved the outdoor shower! Dinner was delicious. Tranquility is king!

Angala is paradise. The location, attention to detail, and exceptional beauty of the surroundings is breathtaking. The staff are lovely and extremely accommodating. We arrived late and were greeted warmly despite it being passed 10:00 PM. The chef had prepared a delicious, beautiful vegan platter for us which we enjoyed in our room by the fire that had been thoughtfully lit for us. The room was exceptional and we can’t say enough about the amazingly kept grounds and garden. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip to Cape Town.

Beautiful, tucked away up into the mountains, and yet really central for Simondium and the Franschhoek valley. A gem. Charming staff, beautiful gardens and views, the sound of running water everywhere. And a big effort towards sustainability here which is to be commended: a reed filtered natural swimming pool, a conscious effort to limit one use plastic bottles in bathrooms, paper waste bags.

Absolutely nothing.

Beautiful setting in beautifully kept wildlife-friendly gardens, with wildlife pond you could swim in, and fabulous on-site organic veg garden on the side of the mountain. Very eco-friendly, excellent, elegant food, and friendly but unobtrusive service from all staff. A peaceful retreat.

A tiny thing - I couldn't plug in the hairdryer close enough to a mirror in the room.

The setting for the hotel was amazing with views at every angle. The pools and wellness facilities were great and very relaxing and the room was large with everything and more we needed. The vegetable garden was also great to walk round and explore.

It was a little off the main road, but that didn’t detract from anything.
