We had the most wonderful experience at Laborie Wine Estate, a heritage gem nestled in the shadow of Paarl Rock, with a history dating back to 1691. Choosing it as the destination for our wedding anniversary celebration was the perfect decision. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the estate’s beauty—the grandeur of the main house, the manicured lawns, and the overall sense of tranquility. The reception staff welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for an exceptional stay. A special highlight was being upgraded to one of their newly completed suites, an unexpected and much-appreciated touch! The suite was stunning, with expansive views that made our stay feel all the more special. Every detail had been considered, from the complimentary bottle of wine and well-stocked mini-bar to the super comfortable bed, ensuring a luxurious and relaxing night. We also loved unwinding by the sparkling pool, which was the perfect spot to soak in the serene surroundings and toast to our anniversary. Laborie Wine Estate exceeded our expectations in every way, offering heritage charm, modern comfort, and warm hospitality. It was an unforgettable anniversary getaway, and we can’t wait to return!

First and foremost, I want to express my sincere appreciation to the team for their prompt and professional handling of my request for a tax invoice—something that can often be an administrative hurdle elsewhere. Their efficiency and willingness to assist left a lasting impression and reflected the high standard of service that runs through every part of the estate. The location is simply unbeatable. Surrounded by vineyards and mountain views, Laborie offers a peaceful, picturesque setting that immediately puts you at ease. It’s the perfect escape, whether you’re looking for relaxation or a base from which to explore the beauty of the Cape Winelands. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Every meal was a celebration of local flavors, beautifully prepared and presented with care. Whether dining at the on-site restaurants or enjoying something more casual, the culinary experience was consistently top-tier. The farm stall was another highlight—full of thoughtfully curated local goods, fresh produce, and unique finds that showcase the region’s charm and creativity. Labourie wine farm is excellent in every aspect! The room was spacious and nicely furnished; the bathroom lovely and big with a great shower - very good water pressure! The staff were all friendly and efficient - not a single unpleasant or unhelpful one among them. The location couldn't be better - very close to downtown Paarl but far enough to make you feel you're totally elsewhere. The wine farm is large and has 3 restaurants to choose from - lovely surroundings and a stately manor house dating from around 1692.

Everything was excellent

The breakfast was excellent. Very good indeed. The accommodation was off site in the Villa which was disappointing. We were able to move to the accommodation nearer to the main buildings which was much better from our point of view. But we had to move back to the villa after 3 nights as all rooms were fully booked. If you are booking ensure you are in the main buildings not in the villa as you are somewhat detached from everyone. The only bonus with the villa its that it has a kitchen, fridge, freezer, cooking facilities and plates etc. The staff were very helpful in every respect.

Fantastic location, amazing views, great atmosphere. Staff is friendly and quick. Stoep is a very comfortable breakfast (and dinner) location. Laborie has a great eye for detail overall.

The beds are too short, the wifi is fairly unreliable and flakey. Rooms in the photos appear a bit larger than they are, but are comfy and clean nevertheless. Cushions on the outdoor chairs would be great (small detail). Overall, very positive experience.

The location the beauty and the excellent facilities

The Italian restaurant Cucina. Waiting staff caught up in conversations with one another. Inattentive. Wine by the glass choice very limited and not of good quality. Take Aways not accompanied by plastic cutlery. I asked for a soup spoon for a takeaway minestrone soup. I was offered a teaspoon. This is a demonstration of arrogance. The soup was good. The day I departed the receptionist told me that check out was strictly at 11:00 despite a note saying that it could be extended on request. She did not bother to check if there were guests checking in later.

Absolutely unforgettable living! This is a unique winery with a special atmosphere. I wish everyone to visit here! The rooms are good, fresh repairs, although they are small. A beautiful pool with a view of a mountain valley, several restaurants in the territory, a very atmospheric wine boutique and a farmer store. We would like to stay here longer, but there was complete booking. Be sure to return, one of the best options for living for all our journey.

Giovanni restaurant is not tasty

Laborie is a beautiful estate. All staff are very friendly and helpful and the Stoep Cafe for breakfast is excellent. Our Villa bedroom was beautifully appointed

Please note that the Villa is right on the main road with the permanent noise of traffic . Not exactly what I had in mind . Also, once you are in the room , you are hermetically sealed indoors , to avoid the traffic noise, so you could be anywhere. Amd finally, the Villa is quite far from the main building so you need to drive … I should have booked the Normal rooms

Staying at Laborie was an amazing experience for us! We got a room upgrade and especially enjoyed the luxurious bathroom. The breakfast at the Stoep restaurant on the estate was the best breakfast we've had on our entire trip. Also, the food and drinks in general were amazing. The surroundings and vineyards of the estate are so beautiful, we felt lucky to be here. The staff was friendly and helpful. In short, if you have the opportunity you should definitely book a stay at Laborie.

Good sized room with masses of storage space. Peaceful location.

We were surprised to be given a room in the 'Villa' not the accommodation adjacent to the Laborie manor. The Villa is on the far side of the vineyard and a short car journey away from breakfast and the other facilities. Although well furnished and pleasantly decorated, the rooms do not open onto the lawn and have no terrace or outside seating area. There is a pool area which can be accessed via the main entrance. Car parking is some distance from the rooms and bags need to be dragged across a gravelled car park before reaching the paved entrance area to the property. Breakfasts are good but limited to one drink (e.g. coffee) and one breakfast choice (e.g. poached egg on avocado) but if you also want a glass of water or a croissant, this costs extra.
