Lovely lake setting. They really should update their photo where the lake looks yellow green and a little unappealing. In reality, it is very pretty. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Lovely touches with flowers on the towels. One of them, a scented rose. Small touches that make you feel welcome.

Breakfast was advertised as starting at 7. By 7.10, they were still setting tables, had not taken breakfast orders, and had not put out fruit and yogurt. Annoying when you are on a tight time schedule. When it did arrive, it was delicious. Anyway, make them aware of time constraints the night before so that they don't go with African time

Just a little bit more clarity on website/booking to which units are extensively equipped for self catering and which only have basic cutlery eg. to just warm up food or make coffee. Our unit was excellent, but should we have chosen to braai for instance we would have needed a few more things.

Enchanted by this guest farm. Very family friendly. Cottages are simple in style (a bit old-school but charming) but just perfectly equipped and comfy. The estate has wine yards, a nice pond, a swimming pool, a safe and well-marked trail track on the hill. This is the perfect place to feel remote from the city, surrounded by trees, hills, wine yards, but at just 4-5 minutes drive to everything (mall, supermarket, restaurants, Paarl centre, etc).

Picardie Guest Farm is situated under magnificent old oak trees, overlooking a small dam where you can watch the birds swim and the fish jump. There is a pool and a stunning little trail for running. Evans, the staff member on duty, was lovely and the setting is well-worth it. I left feeling peaceful and refreshed, despite going on a work trip.

The WiFi did not work in my room, the water pressure wasn't great and the room was a little dark and oppressing, but these were minor compared to Picardie's positives.

I seldom give a score of 10 but I could not fault the guest house. Check-in was superb, the workers were all helpful and friendly. Franco even helped me out of a dilemma I had. The room was superclean with a spectacular view. The aircon worked well and the kitchenette was very handy. Breakfast was lovely. I felt at home. My main aim was to see the Afrikaans Taalmonument - and I did!

It's just a pity that there are no Uber or Bolt drivers. I had more places I wanted to see but unfortunately could not. This is not a negative reflection on the guest house. If you have a car, it would be so much easier.

The management and staff were friendly and helpful, always enquiring if everything was OK. Location was great - felt remote but was close to town and other amenities.

A hot breakfast was offered every morning, but a full continental style breakfast was only available one morning. Given the heat, I would have preferred the continental option more often.

Picardie has the most beautiful scenery and trials. The hospitality is also great and the rooms size and comfort don't feel like a box, the location is excellent as well. As someone who travels quite a bit for work, I can honestly say this is one of the best most economical stays I have ever had in the Western Cape.

My only soft complaint is the lack of block out curtains on the windows. The windows have netting in front of them which is great during the day, however at night you can see directly into the room. For someone like me who doesn't necessarily take my clothes into the bathroom with me to change, the privacy in the evening was a bit of an inconvenience for me.

I travel to Paarl for business quite a lot and have stayed at numerous places. They've been o.k. What makes Picardie AMAZING is that it is "in town", but you're on a tranquil farm. I could take my family with and they're cared for and there is more than enough space for them to play and enjoy.

The only thing I didn't like is that we had to leave ;)

Breakfast was great, Home made jam was excellent. Prefer back or streaky bacon to the bacon slices served. Bottled water was great. View of the dam, the squirrels and geese were lovely. Gardens are lovely.

The fridge was too cold and froze everything on the top shelf.

Breakfast deserves a total😋10/10. I really enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beautiful lake view makes the place extra special.

We were booked in a room that does not have a glass on one window and the room itself wasn't properly maintained. Apart from these two points, we enjoyed our stay.
