Our view of the golf course .. great aircon .. proximity to the little pool restaurant .. room Service .. very kind staff .good tennis courts .. location to Franshoerk 15 minutes away ..

The fact that my husband could only practice at the range if he was playing . He had to leave the estate to find a local range . What’s the point of calling it a golf hotel if you cant practice for as long as you want before playing ?Also the price of the golf round was overpriced for SA compared to other amazing courses . Our small kitchen had no pots or pans so what was the point of an oven ?

Gorgeous property with 2 pools, tennis courts, golf course and a small bar/restaurant plus a much larger bar and restaurant area that was excellent. The rooms were spacious and very well furnished with a large bathroom and a bath with separate walk-in shower. Large balcony with views too. Overall, it was fabulous.

For some reason getting pool towels here was ridiculously difficult. First day after unpacking we went to the smaller pool, asked for towels and were told they'd run out but he'd ask for some....they never came. Day 2 at the larger pool, asked for towels, told that they don't have them there, we have to get from reception. We go there, told they don't have any! Gentleman on reception makes a call and 10 minutes later someone turned up with 2 towels. (What about the next guests?) It seems a hotel this big and this nice could sort this very minor but annoying thing out?

Pearl Valley Hotel & Spa is located in a Golf Estate. It is the ideal location for avid runners because you can run in the Estate. The spacious room has a lounge area and a kitchenette, with a large size bathroom with a shower and a bath, which makes for a pleasant stay compared to just a hotel room. The apartment also has a large balcony which added to the feeling of space. The facility offers a spa, as well as a choice of two restaurants. The food is excellent especially the sushi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers great value for money and is now my preferred place to stay in this area.

The apartment can do with a microwave for people such as myself who like hot milk in my coffee, or who order room service to warm up food. Access to the apartment required taking a flight of stairs, which was fine for me as I am a fit runner, but might be a consideration for some who may want to ask for a ground floor apartment.

McNeil was excellent - he arranged our airport transfer, our restaurant booking, storage of our luggage, etc. He was extremely professional and helpful. The rooms are very spacious with lots of comforts like plunger coffee, nice large soap, shampoo, body lotion bottles. Soft fluffy towels. Service at Backs restaurant also very good - Mark took very good care of us.

Pillows were a bit hard. The catering at the conference itself was not enough.. some people went hungry. In addition, the layout of the food table was not great with people having to wait in long lines before being able to dish up. Also one coffee barista for 155 people is not enough.. again long lines.

Every single hotel staff member we came across were all extremely professionally and friendly 10*. The Estate Security at the main gate could be a bit better (But Obv that's out of the Hotels control). The room was extremely spacious and had a lovely view of the lake. Two on site restaurants were good, Sushi and Pizza and the main restuarant was good! The golf cart drop off and pick up was fun!

The shower floor needed a deeper clean, the grouting appeared to be a bit dirty. The oven in the room does not work as the unit is not self catering, was very disappointed that I could not reheat my leftovers from dinner the following morning. Other than the minor issues everything was great.

Rooms are plush, well laid out and ample in size. WiFi works super well, bathroom is huge. There are two restaurants to choose from as well as room service. They offer a golf caddy service to ferry you between locations on site. The turn down service was a treat. Our room came with a kitchenette, fridge, stove, crockery and cutlery which was helpful. All staff from front desk to housekeeping were super friendly and helpful.

Staff were being loud in the early hours close to our room, we called it in the next day, and it did not repeat the following night. The satellite tv remote only worked when you were 1m away from the tv.

Breakfast is not a buffet, one just orders from the menu and a cup of coffee (your choice) is included, anything else is extra. Breakfast were ample and delicious.

If having dinner there later in the evening some of the staff failed to keep scanning the rooms (especially if one was sitting outside) and so this meant a longer wait for service than normal. On one evening, when sitting on the balcony, three members of staff "just forgot" us and we realised it would have been better for service to sit inside - not something we wished to do. Swimming pool entrance gate needs sorting with a better entry systemm say by using one's room key.

Loved the sports facilities that come with the hotel room. Loved that you can feel like a member of the exclusive Pearl Valley Golf Club and use the facilities available for members. The golf pro was awesome! The golf course itself is on another level of excellence! Views to die for! Location is lovely if you want to be near the vineyards, Franshoek town and country side of the Western cape.

Beds and pillows in the hotel room had BED BUGS!! 🫨 needs proper fumigation.

A beautiful hotel and estate. Great service from the attending staff. Golf course was fantastic and certainly a highlight. Food was good.

They have soccer goals on site but when asking if they had a soccer ball we could rent / hire they had none available. Great facilities like Padel, tennis, petanque, basketball hoops, astro courts etc but good idea to make sure you have equipment to rent/hire for guests visiting to make these facilities accessible to hotel guests that may not be travelling with equipment.

The Rooms and facilities are top notch as well as the food at both the on site restaurants. The golf course looked amazing and challenging. Will need to return to play a few rounds.

The only thing we didn't like about staying at the hotel is that you have to sign in every time at the main security gate. You then get a code to exit but on more than one occasion the code didn't work on exit and then we had to sign in again to get a new code to exit. This could be solved with giving a tag or a same code for for your stay to avoid signing in every time.
