From the moment I arrived at The Wild Mushroom Country House, I was completely enchanted. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by mountains (yes the mountains view is amazing from the house), and it felt like a hidden gem in Stellenbosch. My suite was spacious, elegant, and clean, with thoughtful touches throughout. The highlight had to be the luxurious bathroom, soaking in the tub after a long day of work. The staff were exceptional warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. I was made to feel right at home, with every detail handled so gracefully. A special thank you to the team for going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Breakfast each morning was a treat, lots of options to choose from. I felt completely relaxed and spoiled from start to finish. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

The room was very pleasant. The breakfast was very well prepared and served. The room ceiling is high so the heating of the room takes time. But turning on the heat in advance will solve this problem.

They have several selections for breakfast. So my 5 day stay, I was able to try the different choices. But I liked the Eggs Benedict best and the egg omelette is very good as well. The servants were very courteous.

The manager and staff were welcoming and wonderful 😊 The accommodation was great, and the breakfast was scrumptious 😋 It was a bit cold when we arrived, so they had the heaters already on in our rooms. They lit the fireplace for us the next morning at breakfast and moved our table closer to the fireplace. All in all, it was the best guest house stay we had had in a long time.

The setting was gorgeousl with exceptional views and the house was beautiful.. The rooms were spacious with seating areas outside your room where you could read and relax. Upstairs balcony with table and chairs and the most beautiful gardens and pool. Everything was maintained to a very high standard. I could not fault anything.

The staff, the location - excellent. Rochelle and Debs went out of their way to ensure a great stay.

The swimming pool unfortunately lets the hotel down. It is dirty and the owners are unwilling to go the extra mile to keep the pool clean and clear. Especially important as it is up for sale.

The hotel is very comfortable, refined and civilised. We loved the fact that there was lots of storage space in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Also the bathroom was lovely and spacious. The garden was lovely and the views were beautiful.

Everything about the place was exceptional, from the warm and friendly welcome to the delicious breakfast selection. All the staff were super friendly and the place itself was absolutely charming and beautiful. Location was awesome as well.

The room was beautifully decorated with plush fabrics and everything one needed right there. No running to reception and back for the little things.

Nothing. There would be a problem if an older person or a person with slight disability as there were stairs up to the room .

Stunning Mountain View’s located in a small estate with manned estate entrance. Beautiful building with history. Open fire and air conditioning units with heat too if required in the bedroom (we visited in winter so this took the chill off). Staff are all incredibly friendly and very proactive focussing in the finer details and all remember specifics. Breakfast choices were varied and the breakfast was delicious served with a smiley face created with balsamic .. nice touch.

Safe, scenic location within closed estate. Very hospitable host and pleasant staff. Made accomodations for dietary choice. Room was clean with all amenities as listed in good working order. Unfortunately there was a power outage in stellenbosch area on 2nd day, luckily host had back up power which supported lights, plugs and wi-fi.
