Wow Hotel Beethoven! From the minute we pulled into the carpark the staff could not do enough for us. We came with my father who was struggling with mobility and despite having booked the top floor suite that was up a small flight of stairs (after the lift), the team had proactively set up another lovely suite that was wheelchair accessible should he have had trouble with the stairs. Unbelievably good customer service. The Beethoven suite itself was just beautiful, fantastic views over the city (have included a photo of the view) from the huge personal terrace. The room was immaculate, as was the whole hotel and you can see great care has been taken in having quality decor and comfortable and clean ambience. We felt right at home. The breakfast was also lovely, the neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful, with a very short walk to the city centre. I really cannot stress enough how much the staff were happy to help and accommodate requests. We’d had a very long and stressful drive from the UK to Germany for chemo treatment and did have additional needs and this stay really helped us to relax and be comfortable for the one night we had before driving back to the UK. We will definitely stay again! Couldn’t fault a thing, you can see and feel great pride is taken in running a wonderful hotel and exceeding expectations.

- No water cooker with free coffee and tea in the hotel room or free water: I had to ask for tea and the water cooker at the reception; whilst the hotel initially wanted to charge for the tea, I told them most 3-4 star hotels offer free tea and coffee bags, so the tea was offered for free. The hotel should consider providing free tea and coffee in the hotel rooms, since business travelers would appreciate this after a long day outside at work - extensive mini-frige, where you had to pay for everything

A very quiet room with a comfortable bed. A nice old building overall, even though is was clearly unsuited for a 4 star hotel. The neighbourhood was nice and elegant and quiet. The staff was extremely nice and friendly and helpful (everybody could speak English and one of them could even speak Italian). At walking distance from downtown, but half an hour of walk; reasonably close to an Underground station, however. The parking space, in a private courtyard, was convenient, even though we learned only afterwards that it was farily costly.

The main problem with this place is its having a 4 star rating. This is not a 4 star hotel, but a private house adapted to be a hotel among several difficulties. We don't like having stairs to climb (with luggage) just to reach the reception. The elevator was ridiculously small, owing to the need of squeezing it in the available little space left by the stairs. The breakfast was the poorest aspect: a nice room with a veranda (overlooking the parking space, however), but with very little choice of stuff bought in the closeby supermarket and presented in a rather sad fashion.

After an extensive day of traveling, this hotel was a wonderful place of peace to land at. The staff were so accommodating and understanding and a great introduction to Germany. As others have mentioned - the location is ideal for getting to public transport, the botanical garden, cafes and other restaurants. We had two rooms and both were very spacious and the shower had amazing pressure and heat. So glad we decided to stay here on our short layover!

The Beethoven was immaculate, exceptionally quiet we never heard another guest the soundproofing was the best we’ve ever experienced. The room was comfortable with a chair and small table. While we didn’t have breakfast there the smell from the kitchen was very tempting. We really enjoyed our stay at the Beethoven.

No tea and coffee making facilities. The staff where happy to provide it’s just nice to make at your own convenience. The hotel is a 20 min walk from the centre which was not a problem for us as we love to walk but others less able may not find this to their liking

Love the location. It was quiet and convenient. We also really enjoyed the comfortable sitting area in our room. This was our third time at the hotel and still one of our favorite places. Really enjoy the breakfast selection and the room.

It would be nice to have an espresso machine in the breakfast room.

Very clean building and room; reception was welcoming and informative; has a balcony with 2 metal chairs and small table; in a residential neighborhood so is very quiet at night; shower has plenty of hot water and strong pressure; there are nightstands, lamps and outlets on each side of bed; decor is basic yet classy; wooden staircase; apple basket left out to take as needed

Double bed is 2 mattresses; carpeted floor; drain in shower drains slowly; view from balcony is mostly parking

The breakfast was lovely. There was a great variety of food on offer, including bacon and eggs; muesli, flakes, yoghurt; buns and pastries; bread and jam; butter; fruit salad; two kinds of juice; specially brewed coffee individually served at the table in a little porcelain coffee pot. The people were also extremely helpful and nice. Although I arrived for my free early check-in after breakfast had closed, I was offered coffee and pastries. In the middle of the night, when I was up with jet lag, Mr. Haberkorn, the night manager, again offered me fruit and drink. All this was completely unnecessary and done purely out of pleasantness.

Very nice hotel situated in a quiet residential area but still very accessible by public transport. The breakfast choice was excellent. Staff were very helpful and spoke very good English.

Overall decor of the hotel was a bit old fashioned. A bit expensive for the standard.

The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful neighbourhood within walking distance of the Messe exhibition spaces with small independent restaurants nearby. I woke every morning to birdsong, very peacful!
