The property itself is exactly as described. It is very beautifully decorated and designed, and everything is very thoughtfully laid out. The food is wonderful, and the service provided by all the staff was great. The massage that I had with my bestfriend was in this stunning area of the property, which overlooked the mountains and was such as a special experience.

As this is a spa hotel, the expectation is that all guests will have ample opportunity to receive a spa treatment. However we arrived to the hotel and was told that only 2/4 of us would have the chance to have a massage, which was disappointing given the effort we had taken to arrive at the property, and how the hotel is marketed on Booking.com. Given the cost of the property compared to other spa hotels, there is an expectation that enough staff are employed to accommodate all guests to get a treatment. If there is a limited amount of staff, then we should have been informed early on that we should be booking for treatments weeks in advance. Travelling to this hotel takes longer than expected, due to very windy, narrow bumpy roads. Plan accordingly

I honestly think it’s overpriced. You can tell the hotel now has a few years, the spa isn’t at the level it should be even though I can imagine how complicated it is to build one there, the yoga was honestly a bit weird as I’m practicing for 5-6 years now… a warm up and 6 Sun salutations then rest is not really interesting even if you’re a strong traditional yogi, and I was at the free class… private class is 90USD (can’t remember if it’s per person of not but.. wow…). Also, I paid 50% of the real fee which was around 270-280$ or a bit less. So in all honesty, it was worth this price but not 580$ per night. I always try to do honest reviews and all the prices were like top of the top so I adjust my level of judgment to « top of the top ».

The property is absolutely breathtaking, situated within the mountain ranges, and is the perfect setting for getting grounded, resetting and positioning yourself for tranquility and calmness. The property is simple in and of itself - one pool, single dining area for all meals, spa, yoga venue, but if you want to venture out, you can join the excursions both far and near the property. The staff was amazing - Sri Lankan hospitality is unparalleled; everyone we met was so friendly, warm, attentive and high-touch to our needs.

For those who are light sleepers, the loudness of the crickets may be quite disruptive but can also serve to be a differentiated white noise for you.

The location right in the middle of the nature. The design of each room regarding its purpose. The early morning yoga and the breakfast room.

Very few gluten free options for a hotel who promotes wellness. There should be a policy of not being able to reserve sunbeds, once there are only 8 right next to the pool. Also, we asked for a lunch box, because we had to leave early. When we opened the lunch box, there was lunch for only one of us. In a 5 stars hotel, that’s the kind of thing it cannot happen.

We loved it so much !! The hotel in real life is much better than pictures here in booking.com. 3 meals was absolutely amazing and super high standard, chefs were professional and smiley, the staff Viraj & Vipula at restaurants were all friendly makes you feel very special. We experience both garden view and Mountain View room, we loved both of them, garden view has outdoor washroom and shower area was a great experience. River walk was a great cardio, the guide was very informative, but remember to bring long pants as there are lots of worms during the walk. We did not experience the spa as we were on budget, but we tried the sauna and steam and relaxed there for 30 mins, it was really zen, we loved it so much and regretted that we did not try the spa.

Garden room we could hear the neighbor rooms talking, and it rained all night and monkeys are jumping on the roof, natural sound was very loud for us and we could not sleep well ( earbuds is provided by hotel but it did not work for me as I’m a light sleeper) We changed to Mountain View second day, it was more quiet and we slept very well. Maybe consider Mountain View if you have sleep problem like me.

It was all so great I don't even know where to start from. The staff were super helpful and friendly (every single one of them), the food was Michelin-Star-Restaurant level, especially the Sri Lankan options, the rooms were very very clean, spacious, and so comfy that it was extremely relaxing even just staying on the balcony and listen to the birds, without any other sound disturbing in the surroundings. We stayed in the Garden View Chalet, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by all that nature (no TV in the rooms, that's a big plus!). The yoga lessons and the massages were also great, especially the afternoon yoga sessions with Rahul. In brief, if you really want to switch off and actually relax and take care of yourself, skip all the other places in the Hill Country and stay here instead. :)

excellent food.

The only issue i had was feeling a bit scared if at the spa or walking to my room - not well lit and I would have felt safer if i could see more people walking around

The staff made my boyfriend’s birthday so special. We arrived by tuk tuk (after a few breakdowns) and they even fixed it for us. Turn down service was luxury and the massage was the best I’ve ever had. Once in a lifetime bliss for us and worth event penny. We also loved our waiter who loved rugby and cricket just like us, and took the time to really chat to us.

You’re in nature, and it can be really loud at night with the humming of the mountain life. It’s quite spectacular but made me a bit paranoid of bugs (we never had any in the room mind you).

The staff were amazing, my friend got food poisoning from the hotel before, they found me another room, had the doctor see her, nothing was an issue at all. The property is in the middle of nowhere in the jungle a chance to unwind. The food was exceptional Treatments and the protocol before and after treatments is taken seriously so you get to most out of it

Something to get used to, rather than a don’t like, you are in a building with open ventilation, so you can hear all the wildlife , if mozzies love you, take a plug in mozzie repellent.
