Our stay at the summit was undoubtedly the best in Sri Lanka. The view from the room was spectacular, and the room itself was gorgeous. The attention to detail in the entire property was incredible and the building is beautifully designed. However, the absolute highlight was the service. We were made to feel comfortable immediately, nothing was too much, and the staff went above and beyond for our entire stay. Truely a wonderful experience I would recommend to everyone. Also, exceptional food, particularly the breakfast and dinner on the rooftop! Excellent view of the city with amazing food.

The property is a little out of town (5-10 min tuk tuk- very steep) but this added to how peaceful it was to us!

This little hotel was a grand experience in every way! It is beautifully located at the top of a hill (though a little difficult to get to, a steep climb for the car through winding roads) with a breathtaking view of mountains surrounding it and the valley below. Gorgeously designed building, excellent food and service, just the best possible in every way.

We liked everything! Had the best time with the friendliest service and wonderful meals! The view from the room and balcony was so stunning that we rushed to get back in the evening just to sit out and enjoy it...

Spectacular view over Kandy which was panoramic, interior decor of the room and hotel was tasteful - a very pleasant space to spend time in. Delicious welcome drink upon arrival and breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly but not overbearing.

Far away from the center and tuktuk drivers will try to rip you off, asking for 10x the price for locals. We managed to negotiate down to 4x. We were lucky to get an uber to the hotel but we had to walk halfway into Kandy before we could flag a tuktuk down. We could not get a pickme or uber from the hotel and unfortunately the staff did not have any arrangements to order us a tuktuk other than suggesting pickme. On reflection we would have rather stayed in the hotel for dinner than heading into Kandy as the hotel was such a nice space. Some of these negatives may have been because we unfortunately timed our trip with an event in Kandy making it the busiest it had been in 16 years.

A hidden gem above Kandy’s lights, this place is totally worth it. In every room, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of Kandy and the rooms are positioned such that you’ll get to see the sunrise. The place is clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. You could truly tell that this is owned by an architect that paid close attention to details. Kogul is an absolute superstar, and we found every staff member friendly, respectful and attentive.. There aren’t very many hotels I have been to where I felt that “I could live here”. The Summit made us feel that way. P.s. they offer candle light dinner at rooftop, that is well worth it.

Nothing! Some dishes could be a bit better but I am nitpicking

At first we couldn’t find the hotel as it looked like someone’s house. And when we walked in to reception if did feel like just that. Welcoming and warm. The room were spectacular with a view over Kandy. The size was great and immediately you felt at home and didn’t want to leave. As you open the door to your room the view and room take your breath away. The staff were fantastic and took real good care of us. Breakfast was delicious. That had adopted two street dogs they looked after and fed who were so cute! Take meaty dog treats if you go

Nothing to dislike

Great hotel in the hills overlooking the city, we did't realise how high it was until our ride brought us there! Single track roads, often steep and vertiginous climb but worth the journey. Amazing place, uninterupted views, 4 or 5 rooms, staff were so friendly, nothing was any trouble. Many thanks to Kogel, he got us a tuk tuk on the first night to take us into town and Mr Madhu the driver became our driver for the whole trip, driving us the long journeys to elephant orphanages and tea plantations/factories in a tuk tuk or undeterminable age, truely an experience we'll not forget. If you're faint of heart I'd recommend a cab instead as it was a little white knuckle at times! Fish curry at breakfast time, delicious. And we stayed in for dinner one night, also recommended this as the menu is short but absolutely top quality. Overall, I'd recommend this place 100%.

I seriously can't find fault in the place!

Nestled amid Kandy's majestic mountains, The Summit Hotel offers a breathtaking view that steals the show. Watching the sun dip below the horizon during our arrival was simply magical. And rising early to witness the sunrise from our balcony with a steaming cup of coffee was the epitome of tranquility. You can even catch a glimpse of the stunning scenery from the reception, and there's a cozy viewpoint atop the hotel with a bar where we wished we could have lingered longer. Upon our arrival at The Summit Hotel, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome that set the tone for our entire stay. The offering of cold towels provided instant relief from the tropical heat, while the tantalizing aroma of strawberry and mint tea infused the air, inviting us to unwind and indulge in a moment of blissful relaxation. This thoughtful gesture exemplified the hotel's commitment to providing a holistic experience of comfort and rejuvenation from the very first moment of our arrival. Such small but meaningful touches added an extra layer of hospitality that truly elevated our stay to new heights. The service at The Summit was top-notch. The staff, including Jagan and Dharma, were incredibly polite, helpful, and always ready to assist. Their excellent command of English made communication a breeze, and they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Inside our room, modern elegance awaited. The sleek interior design and spotless cleanliness impressed us from the moment we stepped in. Every essential was thoughtfully provided, from the tea and coffee station to the plush towels and refreshing air conditioning. The bed was cozy, the shower was invigorating, and the view of the mountains added a touch of magic to even the simplest activities like brushing teeth or showering. Despite arriving later than planned, our dining experience at the hotel's restaurant exceeded expectations.

Despite Google Maps leading us astray, the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful in assisting us to find our way. Their patience and guidance made a stressful situation much more manageable. While the hiccup with navigation was frustrating, the positive experience with the staff left a lasting impression.

The summit is an excellent place to stay if you're in Kandy. Views are incredible, food was lovely (sri lanken or western) and the staff were brilliant - especially Pradeep who helped us greatly from organising transport and day to day activities to sorting out train tickets. The rooms and bathrooms were pristine. Waking up to the mountain sounds and a panoramic sunrise view was a once in a lifetime experience. Unbeatable!

I have no complaints about my time with the summit. I will be staying there again next time in sri lanka

Perfect. 💯 worth it. Very spacious open hotel with a breathtaking view. Very clean and attentive staffs. In-house restaurant was very good, tasty food and 100% recommend the continental breakfast. Amazing. The room - clean, spacious, big windows, very clean bathroom, comfy bed with amazing view, free tea/coffee in room, best thing an expresso machine in room 💯. In the balcony you get friendly visits by parrots 🦜 .

I loved the room, it’s big with huge windows that allowed natural sunlight to come into the room. Also, the balcony was big and nice to sit and admire the view. The hotel is not that big yet cozy and lovely. The staff were welcoming and kind.
