I loved my stay at Bethel. The room was very specious and very clean. There were all facilities from cloth hangers, hair dryer, fridge, kettle.They had hanged mosquito net based on my request before I arrive. They had water filter to refill my bottles and use less plastic. There was hot water at convenient pressure for shower. The room overlooked green area. I felt sad that I couldn't enjoy the view from the balconies of the homestay enough, since I stayed in Kandy 1 day. The hosts were amazing people, very informative and friendly. The breakfast was fresh and of good variety. All from welcome to goodbye went great in their homestay. The rating is reflecting the reality of Bethel😊. For sure I will stay in Bethel, if I go and visit Kandy again one day.

Amazing hosts. We had a delicious home cooked meal and breakfast was great. We felt very welcome and this was a perfect stopover before getting the train to Ella. It was more “homely” than other homestays we have had so far. The family chatted with us over dinner and they dropped us to the train station in the morning. A lovely experience! Also, room was lovely. Better than expected for the price. Shared balcony with a view over the city below. Excellent value for money. Perhaps a 10 minute drive from the station, but feels more rural as is up in the hills overlooking the city.

This family-run hotel had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was simple but comfortable. What really made our stay special was the family—they genuinely cared about us, always being lovely, helpful, and making sure we felt at home. Breakfast was good, and we especially enjoyed the communal dining setup, where we shared a table with other guests. This led to some really nice and interesting conversations, making the experience even more memorable.

The hotel was located on a hill, which added to its charm but also made access by car a bit tricky. Additionally, it was a little far from the city center, so getting around required some extra time.

Very friendly and hospitable hosts from arrival to departure. A comfortable room with a fridge and kettle available. There is also a very nice, comfortable balcony area with lovely views which was nice to sit out in the evening to listen to the birds.. It is quiet and high above the humdrum and air pollution of Kandy below. It is a five minute tuktuk ride to the centre or about 30 minutes on foot using pathways and steps. Some nice views on the way down . The way back up is quite a climb ( and easy to lose your way for a moment) so best to pick a tuktuk if your legs are weary. A tuktuk cost us about 400 lkr which is good value. The breakfasts were delicious on both days and Dilini was able to cater for my wife's gluten free and vegetarian diet. Excellent value for money and I will happily return if in Kandy again.

Cosy homestay in the hills of Kandy - the view from the balcony is spectacular and the hosts were extremely warm and welcoming. They kindly arranged dinner for us (at an additional cost) which was very tasty - it was great to try local home-cooked food.

The location is close to Kandy's centre but the steep hills mean it isn't a straightforward walk and TukTuks booked via PickMe/Uber would often cancel once they saw the location of the Homestay. That being said it was easy enough to walk down the hill a little bit and find a tuktuk by the side of the road.

A hospitable house and a wonderful place to discover Kandy. Quietly situated in the hills above the city, surrounded by greenery with a marvellous terrace and view over Kandy. We were warmly welcomed with cool towels and fresh juice. The cookery course with Dilini was great and very informative, Rasika helped us to get train tickets. The family room was wonderful, the beds very comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay. A clear recommendation!

Lovely guesthouse up a hill in a beautiful area with stunning views. Really nice owners, great breakfast & lovely large room with a balcony & great views over the city. There's also a larger communal balcony where you can hang out, eat Takeaways etc, plus a communal fridge. A really great place to stay, highly recommended

The guesthouse is only a 15 minute walk down into town, but you'll need to get a tuk tuk back. Totally worth it for the views

A well-presented mid-price family-run homestay in a leafy neighbourhood above Kandy. The 3 rooms are simple but comfortable, with private bathrooms, fans and aircon. The largest room has a private balcony; the other rooms share a small terrace. Tasty meals are available. The host family is helpful. To reach the guesthouse, you should be prepared for a 20-minute uphill walk from the town centre, or to hire a tuk-tuk: you will appreciate the calm and the clean air when you arrive.

The hosts were amazing and made me very comfortable. Rasika sir helped me with travel arrangements and checked on me even after I left Kandy. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was quiet, although not easily accessible from the city center and gets dark in the evenings.

Given the location, it was a little difficult to go out and have dinner in the evenings- especially if you are a female solo traveler. The hosts did offer me delicious home cooked dinner one of the nights.
