Nice view on Kandy lake, nice rooms. Awesome Rooftop pool. Friendly Staff, have been served by Nuwan on first day breakfast, he is doing a great job, takes care of you and is very friendly.

There is no A/C in the restaurant, therefore it is already very hot during breakfast. High Tea was not available while it was advertised in the room booklet. There was no buffet breakfast and unfortunately on the swcond day the breakfast staff was more busy with the manager than with the guests. Overall I think it is a nice hotel but a bit overpriced.

I had a booking at another hotel and they canceled. So, I had in matter of urgency to find a acomodation. I found a new listing- The trees hotel. I booked and I am happy I did that. This hotel it is much better than first one that was canceled. Better location, service, staff, food. I liked very much the room is amazing, view is the best and of course food-delicious. The staff is very nice. Guys prepared an wonderful evening on Christmas for us. I wish all the best to The Trees team and hotel.

Beautiful hotel and rooms in a great and lively location in Kandy. The welcome was warm and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The rooftop terrace with a pool offers an amazing view over the city — perfect for watching the sunset. The food was excellent and very generous in portion and variety!

The only downside was that it was noisier than we expected. We could hear our neighbors walking around, which made it harder to fall asleep and caused us to wake up earlier than planned. This might partly be due to the guests themselves, but with a hotel this luxurious, you’d expect better soundproofing.

We loved staying at The Trees Kandy. It's a gorgeous, new, and well maintained modern hotel. The view from our room overlooked the lake and was lovely to wake up to each day. The roof of the hotel has a great large infinity pool on the same side, we spent a sunny afternoon lounging here and never tired of the view. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. We had something at the restaurant each day which also never disappointed.

The bed was a little hard for my personal taste although I still slept well. The light switches are a little confusing in the room, maybe too many options 😆 although with a little persistence you can get the lighting "just right"

The location of this hotel was excellent and the views from the balcony and pool were outstanding. The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar area were very well designed and we really liked the natural feel of the hotel. All staff were friendly and attentive. We also had a lovely dinner - the Sri Lankan options were especially very good. We’d highly recommend staying in this hotel - especially for the poolside views over Kandy!

The facilities that the hotel did have were excellent. However, it didn’t offer a gym or spa which is surprising for a hotel of this quality and price.

We had a brilliant stay at The Trees Kandy — a highlight of our 10-day trip to Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming. First impressions were great — the room was spacious, and even when we had a small issue with the TV, it was resolved quickly. The hotel feels surprisingly large and airy given its location on a hilltop — it may look small from the outside, but it’s impressively spacious inside. The rooftop bar and pool were a definite highlight — stylish, relaxing, and with incredible views. The restaurant was fantastic, both in terms of food and service. A special thank you to Romesh from the dining staff, who really made us feel at home. All of the staff were especially kind and attentive to our son Noah — they remembered him and went out of their way to engage with him every day, to the point that he insisted on having dinner at the hotel every night. One morning we had an early tour (6:30am), and the team thoughtfully packed snacks for our son — a small but deeply appreciated gesture. The hotel has an urban chic vibe — very cool and well-executed. Its location is perfect — just five minutes from the center, but elevated enough to offer amazing views. There’s also a lovely café and snooker area, which we didn’t get around to using, but it was great to have that option. It’s one of my husband’s top 10 hotels worldwide!

The only small suggestion would be to offer a bit more variety at breakfast — a few more Western options would be welcome.

Jaw droppingly beautiful coupled with incredibly friendly staff is what you can expect from this fabulous hotel. From the moment of our arrival, we were shown such incredible hospitality, warmth and friendliness. Staff here clearly pride themselves on the high levels of service they provide and this was apparent from both reception and waiting staff during breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is substantial with a wide variety of choice and served in an attentive but unobtrusive manner. We had a 7am start during our stay and the breakfast staff went to the trouble of providing us with a breakfast hamper of sandwiches, fruit and pastries to take with us. We took dinner by the pool on 2 evenings and service too is incredibly friendly and efficient - a special mention must go to our waiter Dashan who ensured everything was kept up to the mark on both evenings. Whilst the hotel does not have an alcohol licence it does serve wine and beer and Dashan ensure the white wine was chilled before serving it. Another special mention must go to the luggage porter who not only assisted me twice with reopening the safe in my room and subsequently gave me a tutorial on how to operate it (there were no written instructions) but also provided me with his own personal umbrella (a tip to the hotel might be to have umbrellas for guests). From check-in to check-out our stay was sublime and having had a nose around some other hotels in Kandy whilst there I can honestly say we made the correct choice by staying at The Trees. We will definitely return to stay here again. Quite simply I can only provide you two words - stay here!

Very nice ambiance at the Trees, we were greeted with a lovely welcome tea and flower and kind staff. Everyone was so nice and really went out of their way to help. The room was spotless and a special effort was made for our honeymoon which was very sweet. The pool area was gorgeous and very relaxing. Towels provided too. We had cocktails and dinner one of the evenings which was very tasty and staff were very attentive. Great breakfast and nicely designed rooms and bathroom. Great location, 10min walk to the lake and other sights. Easy to get tuk tuk back.

Not much to complain about. The monkeys are a little troublesome on the balcony, hard to relax there but difficult to control that. Staff were very helpful when one came into our bedroom!

Superb building designed to maximize views from its high hillside location. The main floor entrance hall is spectacular; the lounge and bar airy and pleasant when the doors are open; and the dining room is beautiful. While the rooftop terrace and pool are nice, the emphasis on selling food and drink here is off-putting. I would have preferred an active lounge and bar on the main floor — the bar here is lovely but unstaffed during 3 days. The numerous staff were excellent and efficient. Everything is very well tended. My room was just plain perfect. Of note is the top-of-the-line Samsung air con unit. It is quiet and effective, unlike so many such units I encounter on my travels. A lake view room is well worth it since one can enjoy the view and balcony. My room on the road side was just fine, but offered no view. Beware of invading monkeys if you leave your sliding door open! The restaurant breakfast was excellent. My dinners varied in quality. The best night was when a set menu was offered.
