Great location in the heart of Kandy. A wonderful roof top bar that has amazing views and the pool is massive and refreshing. We spent a lot of time in the pool and we were only there for 1 night. The rooms were a great size for 2 people and had a fridge and hot water. The breakfast was a standard breakfast buffet, we stuck to the western food - fruit, pancakes and omelettes. Club sandwiches were also amazing for lunch. It was walking distance to Temple of the Tooth and the lake. There is a supermarket just up the road. Our rooms had balconys that overlooked the central Kandy area, they were a great touch. Although in town it wasn't noisy to sleep. Good air con in the room.

We were very pleased by our choice of hotel. The location is superlative, being walkable distance for a normal tourist's range of activities & interests - the Tooth Relic Temple is virtually next door, as is Kandy Lake, the Kargils Food City & Lakshara Gift Shop. For those interested in Gems shopping there is Colombo Street around the corner (we went to Lanka Gold House). The Kandyan Cultural Centre & Kandy Market are each a SLR 300 ride away. We experienced superlative hospitality from the staff led from the front by Mr Saman Pushpakumara at the front desk. The restaurant was extremely good & the inclusive breakfast was appetising, filling & varied. The Pub on the 6th floor has a relaxed ambience & good cocktails.

The only negative was that the lift was unoperatoonal once in a while. This may cause inconvenience to guests on higher floors. An occasional monkey (or troop) may appear.

Central location, very polite and helpful staff (thank you to the manager who upgraded us to halfboard). Food good, especially the buffet the evening after the Perahera procession passed outside the hotel; set menu is also yummy and plentiful. Room with balcony was relatively spacious . Clean. Some sockets but near bed, you need to unplug lamp. Cupboard offers some storage space. Full range of toiletries provided (shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion).

Balcony is relatively narrow, to sit outside you need to move furniture from inside out. Suggestions, not critque In the cupboard, some more clothes hangers and shelves. Maybe a mosquito net for the bed. In the evening, if you leave balcony door open (which you might because balcony is narrow), the room fills with mosquitoes. Breakfast service , when not buffet, needs to become a little more organized. On two days, bread basket arrived only after we had finished with the omelette. Ask staff to remove shoes when they enter the room.

I enjoyed the central location of the property. The staff were extremely attentive, and quickly met all needs. The meals that were included were very good and there was plenty of food. The rooftop bar was a nice bonus, and I enjoyed the swimming pool area. The room was spacious and comfortable and the balcony provided a view of the lively streets.

It didn't really bother me, but there was some noise from the streets and other venues during the later hours of the night.

Big comfortable rooms, outstanding service and hospitality standards, special thanks to Saman for going above and beyond in ensuring that my stay was super comfortable. Also, Raaziq was always helpful and polite. Despite being off season, they took very good care of me. Bang in the middle of the city, Cargills Supermart is next door, all major restaurants walking distance, as well as the tooth relic temple, and I had a clear view of the Buddha Statue from my balcony. Yes it’s an old building but you need to be able to appreciate such legacy buildings. The pool was well maintained throughout. Last but not the least, everything I ate at the Hotel restaurant was just fantastic. I strongly recommend staying here. My only regret being I couldn’t come back for a second round of stay due to change in my itinerary.

Wifi was weak initially but was fixed by Saman right away. As I said, it’s an old property so manage your expectations accordingly. There’s dampness in rooms but that’s almost everywhere in Kandy, but it wasn’t a problem for me.

Fantastic location, courteous and friendly staff, very clean, beautiful old fashioned hotel, with beautiful wooden flooring and furniture but well maintained, not smelly or worn out as some other even pricey hotels and for really good money value. We had a lovely, cosy room on the 3rd floor with balcony with nice view of the street and surroundings however not nosy at all. Breakfast was served a la card out of 3 sets and English breakfast was good, with fruits and eggs, coffee, tea, juice. Fantastic swimming pool made it a really great stay even though in the middle of the city!

The toilet flush wasn't always properly working, you needed to get it in the right position. WiFi was a bit poor

Well located and amazing staff. Breakfast was of a great selection. We did had the set menu for dinner as well at only $8 for both of us and uauuu was so delicious and soooo much food. The hotel has a 40s vibe to it and we really liked that.

The front facing rooms have amazing view but with the traffic in the street they tend to be a bit noisy. The bathrooms are a bit dated but taking in consideration other hotels washrooms that we saw this one was very clean

Perfect service from all staff - so welcoming and helpful! Comfortable and spacious rooms with hot showers. Very central yet very peaceful inside. Right next door to a cool little cafe and a short walk from the temple and traditional dancing (choose the Red Cross one!) - both are a must see. The large central fan is perfect for keeping the room cool and keeping insects away, so no need for AC (we always prefer fans!). Breakfast was delicious and they even boxed up some cake to go for the train :)

The hotel was very nice. The reception was amazing . Specially the lady ( sorry to say this , chubby , pleasant, since I don’t know her name ) was very welcoming and always catered to the needs . The issue was with the chicken, it was supppperrr dry , and not moist at all. The food needs to be improved . The pumpkins were raw. Food needs to be looked thoroughly and adviced. But to sum up apart from the food , rest were fine

Location was great. The breakfast is a buffet and you could order omelets. Kitchen and room service staff were always very nice and helpful.

When we did the check-in, the receptionist offered us to have dinner in the restaurant. We politely rejected the offer because we want to visit the city and his reaction was quite rude. From that moment he was not nice at all.
