Nice location, high over Kandy with views across the hills, birds singing in the morning and a daily monkey show as they climbed along the wires in the afternoon. A 15 minute walk down to the lake and short tuktuk ride back. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. A good breakfast, local or English and food could be ordered during the day. Internet good. A special thank you to the staff, Dilrukshi is the only name we know, who were all wonderful, concerned and kind during a period of illness (unrelated to the hotel). They were unfailingly helpful and friendly.

Beautiful hotel, high standard rooms, amazing view from balcony, very nice and professional personnel, we stayed longer than planned because we were amazed by Cassandra, thank you to the manger and to Dilrukshi and Dilhari for amazing experience, also great food as we ordered dinner from the restaurant. I will for sure come back ! Less than 5 min.from the View point, also a short walk to the lake and center when using the shortcut downhill. It was great also watching monkeys running down the hill when surrounded by the beauty of hills and palms, so stunning views, cannot recommend it enough

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cassendra. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Isuru was especially helpful, courteous, attentive, and ready to assist with anything we needed. Chef Selvakumar prepared delicious meals and was happy to tailor them to our preferences. Overall, a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend!

The shower temperature was a bit inconsistent at times. Occasionally becoming very hot before turning cold, even when set to a comfortable level.

The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The bathroom was also lovely. There was a little bit of a smell from the drains but it most probably because the property is on a hill and I would imagine almost impossible to address. We really liked the elevated position of the property because it was nice to be able to retreat from the hustle and bustle of Kandy town centre and also allowed for great views. The best thing however about this hotel is the staff. They are lovely. The girl on reception helped me dress appropriately for our visit to the Buddhist temple and we were also given advice on taxis and places to eat. They couldn’t do enough for us. Top tip - Sri Lankan porridge is good to try (my Sri Lankan friend tells me it’s incredibly healthy) but maybe not to everyone’s taste, whilst the Sri Lankan omelettes also on offer were very tasty - recommended.

Everything was perfect for us

What a wonderful place to stay. I initially booked the cheapest room they had, which was more than adequate, but during the night there was the noise of a pump going on and off. In the morning I mentioned the noise, and they said they could turn it off. I thanked them and left it at that. When I returned after a day out the receptionist told me that the manger had said I could move to another room if I liked. They showed me the room, which was a big upgrade, and I agreed to move. They didn’t have to move me, but I am very grateful for the consideration and attention to detail.

The room is bright, full of nature light, with private balcony and private bathroom. The bed offers a warm blanket, the wifi connection is strong.

The room is not soundproof at all. You can hear everything from the hall, the stairs, from other rooms and as well as the kitchen. The bathroom has a window to a connected porthole which you cannot close. The bed was not so big as at the picture. The sheet is even smaller than the bed so it is not at the right place when you lying. The warm blanket is not big enough as it supposed to be for 2 person.

We were able to store our luggage there early then went to explore the city. When we came back we were greeted By Subash and he was excellent. He showed us to our room and our bags were already there and then he sent me the dinner menu and wifi password etc. to my WhatsApp. I ordered room service and it was delivered quickly. We checked out before breakfast so they gave us to go boxes. I would stay there again and definitely recommend.

I honestly can not think of anything.

The room was a great size and very comfortable with fairly modern furnishings. The bathroom was clean and I felt the balcony was a great place to chill in the evenings. I ate at the restaurant both nights as it was brilliant and very good value too. The buffet breakfast was excellent too. The staff were very attentive and overall made the stay even better.

There isn't much to dislike. Yes, it's located about 10-15 minutes uphill out of the city centre, but a tutuk costs very little to get to/from the hotel and it's a good walk on a nice day. If you do choose to walk there is a wonderful viewpoint about half way down the hill which not many tourists seem to go to.

The staff are really friendly and attentive and the location is quiet, high above the lake which we could just see from our window. It was an easy walk down to the centre and a short tuk tuk ride back up. The room was huge, very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. It was possibly the biggest bed I have ever slept in! Would definitely stay here again if in Kandy.
