I had a bit of stomach trouble when I arrived and the manager was quite concerned for me even bringing me some medication to my room without being asked. Brilliant customer service!!

The breakfast was terrific. Cut fresh fruit (bananas, papaya, water melon) and scrambled egg, both Western and Sri Lankan. Ceylon tea of course! The views are very good as the hotel is up high, though you can't see the lake directly I think - not from my room anyway. There is a lookout point nearby (about 250 metres) with great views of the lake. Laundry service OK, and Whatsapp used to communicate with reception when closed. Courteous, friendly staff.

Some people may find the location a little inconvenient, but it's just a tuktuk ride from Kandy station - 500 rupees is standard price, but I gave 100 tip to my driver from hotel to station to catch train in the morning, weaving impressively through rush hour traffic!

The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived till we left the hotel. This ensured a hassle-free experience for me during my first trip with friends in Kandy. The staff at the front desk were friendly, courteous, and were supportive when we required assistance to leave our luggages at the hotel a few hours prior to check-in as we had planned a tour of the Sinharaja Forest. In addition, I am someone who has multiple dietary restrictions (Gluten-free, GORD-friendly diet), but the hotel was more than accommodating with regards to my requests to exclude certain items from the breakfast as well as prepare a bowl of oats (with the raw oats I had brought along) for me. With regards to the hotel room, we got a Deluxe Family Room. It was clean, spacious, and the beds were huge and super comfy! The bathroom was well stocked and clean. The view from our room was beautiful as well, especially during sunrise and sunset. Truly a memorable experience for us as a group!

Honestly, we don't have any major issues to point out since our stay was pleasant and the hotel had met our needs. Even when we did make a complaint about the mini fridge not cooling enough, they promptly arrived to adjust the thermostat and resolve the issue so we could have our food and drinks cooled without spoiling!

During our trip in kandy we had an excellent stay at the Cassandra Hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view is amazing as you stay up the hill. But the outstanding service from the hotel manager Nuwan made our stay even better. His hospitality is on a high level as he provided us with many recommendations, even in other places. When we left for the train to Nuwara Eliya hè even kept in touch if we had any questions. On our way back to Kandy we couldn’t wait to stay another night at Cassandra hotel as we really felt like home.

the location, Nuwan the manager & the Concierge person as people in the property & the way they welcomed us speaks a lot about the hospitality. Nuwan was able to find a nice eatery for us & text me to get my family going out for lunch. There were loads of baggages & the way they managed it truly deserves a big Thank You to them. Would strongly recommend this place.

The in-room services could be an area of improvement.

We only stayed here for one night, as we had a train to catch early the next morning, so our experience was limited. However, we did find our rooms to be large and comfortable, and the staff friendly and hospitable. As we had to leave before breakfast, they provided a generous packed meal for us to have on our journey.

It's a small thing, but although tea and coffee were supplied, our kettle didn't work. No doubt if we had been around for longer, it would have been replaced.

Nice welcoming staff and he prepared welcoming juice for all my friends who just dropped me at this hotel. The room is well maintained, clean, and with nice balcony looking the town.

There was not bath towel in the room when I entered. I asked and it took around 30 mins to receive as they said the clearning was delayed. Breafast did not have breads so I asked again and they prepared. All things sorted out after I asked for, so it's okey but these are something expected to be prepared.

This place worked well for our 1 night layover. On arrival we were greeted with a hot sweet tea and check-in was friendly. The room was comfortable. Unfortunately, we had an issue upon leaving early the next morning. At check-in we informed them that we will be leaving early (2:30 am) to catch a mail train to Ella. We were told that there will not be a problem as they’re is always someone at the front desk… this was not the case. We had a difficult time finding a way out of the building and had to scale a wall to get out.

The staff, particularly Nuwan, Sugath and Lakni were all wonderful; very friendly, helpful, accommodating and enthusiastic to please and help with any need. The rooms were excellent; comfortable beds, clean, the water was hot, the tv worked well. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty with unlimited tea and coffee. And the location was great.

The room had tea / coffee, milk / sugar / cups.....but no kettle.

Liked the proximity to the lake and city centre. Also very close to the shopping district. View from the window, and the balcony was fantastic.

The hotel is in a steep driveway and not so easy to climb. Also, we were informed that the staff from the restaurant were not working that day and nothing was available. Nearby restaurants were not so close to the hotel.
