The hotel location was excellent for getting about being on the lakeside. However it was the staff who were truly exceptional…they were caring, attentive to our needs especially as we had a baby with us. The reception staff made checking in and out so easy and helped us when we needed them. The food and beverage staff especially Tiara and Sidath Medagedara were exceptional in how they treated us. This is our second stay in a month with the hotel and we highly recommend anyone to stay here. Mevan and Marina Fernando

We stayed four nights here and cannot say enough good things about it and especially all the staff. One of our family had an emergency medical situation whilst we were in Sri Lanka so we transferred to Kandy for an operation at the hospital. We picked to stay here as we needed somewhere safe, quiet and quality for us all to recover and process what had happened. The hotel and staff delivered exactly what we needed for those five days and we will be forever grateful to them all. Was everything perfect, no. We're there some communication issues sometimes, of course. Was the food the best I've ever eaten, no. BUT, as a high quality hideaway in central Kandy this place IS perfect. We loved our garden suite rooms, pizza by the pool, beautiful gardens, stunning dining room, snooker table, relaxing armchairs and hallways echoing with history. To all the staff, a huge thank you again and I am sorry we could not stay for a month!

The hotel is really lovely especailly if you appreciate historic architecture, the location is perfect, the staff were amazing and the room was clean and comfy. The shower might be the best I've ever had, great water pressure and temps. Having a fan on the balcony/terrace outside was a really nice touch. The wifi was great most of the time and only a few times toward the later evening did it go slow briefly, a mix of storms and lots of users I think. When we checked in, our first room had a problem with AC, we called reception, and they sent an engineer immediately to fix it but rather than make us wait, they gave us a free room upgrade. The lake in front of the hotel is teeming with wildlife and makes for a really nice walk.

Leaving, we only stayed 3 nights, but wish we had booked longer.

The hotel has been refurbished and recently reopened, some areas are still being refurbished, hence I think we got a very good rate! The gym wasn't open yet but the pool looked lovely although didn't have a chance to use it. We enjoyed playing billiards but otherwise no other entertainment/gamea to play. (Note to the hotel - the top reception room would be a great location to play Carom!!). The location was excellent for a leisurely walk to the centre, even in the evening it felt safe to walk.

The food was fine but a little disappointing. The breakfast choice was limited for a large hotel buffet style. Hoppers would be a great addition!!

A beautiful property with nice pool and great location on the lake.

The property in some areas is a bit tired and could have been a bit cleaner. Our room was large with wooden floors and they felt a bit dusty which felt awful in bare feet. However they are working on it and maybe from the building work. It has such great potential as it is a beautiful building but it is lacking some level of comfort in the rooms. Even some cheap slippers would have been nice or a rug on the wooden floor. There were lots of staff at reception but didn’t see many cleaning staff. This felt like it could have been an incredible hotel. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay there.

The ambience and food was good. Should have been part of the package. But they charged separately.

One of rooms AC was faulty and we had stayed one day without AC. They didn't even bother to deduct the amount from the bill for not providing the basic facility. Price is a bit on the higher side for the facility. No elevator for all the floors (may be because of the old building). Then the price should be according to the facilities provided.

The staff was very friendly and supportive. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffets. The rooms were very clean and well-equipped with all necessary facilities. The bathrooms were also excellent and included all required amenities.

One suggestion is that the bathtub may be a bit difficult for elderly guests to use. It would be helpful to consider an alternative option that is more accessible.

Large and clean room, very comfy beds, good shower... After having stayed in several small hotels of private hosts, which were nice as such, it was a pleasure to stay in such a luxurious place (no mold, no bugs, no strange smell). Nice pool too, and of course very good location. Having booked last minute for a very low price, I can only say that value for money was great for us.

Food was so so, but luckily not overpriced.

Great views, really chic pool as well. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Plenty of food choices for dinner and breakfast. Staff is really welcoming, amazing service and hospitality especially from Kanishka Nirasha and Tiara

No plug converter for foreigners, did not find an iron either in the room

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Suisse Kandy. The location is excellent—very close to the city center and with beautiful views of the lake. The room was spacious and clean, though it could use some modern updates. Breakfast had a good variety of local and continental options. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
