The National Hotel is an older place that's really charming and a throwback to what hotels must've been like decades ago. Besides the visual attraction, it offers good value. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The room I got this time was much larger than the one I had a year or two ago. Bed was large and comfortable. GREAT WiFi speed! I got there late and had to work until 04:00 so I missed breakfast.
I wish there was a little closer parking when checking in/out. I don't mind having to park in the underground facility below the police station next door, but for quick loading/unloading upon check-in/check-out, it would be more convenient to have parking at the front instead of hoping the two spaces in front of the bank next door are vacant. Not a huge deal but.... Would like'd to have had a mini-fridge and maybe a microwave in the room.

we were told there was a continental breakfast included, which to us means coffee and stale toast or rolls, but this was way beyond a continental breakfast. It had everything from cheese omelettes with sausage and bacon, oatmeal, large muffins, great coffee, and much much more. The staff was constantly keeping everything stocked. The breakfast area was in a nice large room with booths and large & small tables. Also, the entire hotel had been recently remodeled so everything was new & clean.
couldn't have been better!

The hotel is beautiful and has an amazing history. The locals and shop owners were so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed talking with and getting to know the hotel history from Holly, who works the front desk. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. We will definitely go back to visit and explore the town some more.
The beds were hard. My back and hips weren't too happy about it. It wasn't that bad, I just prefer to have a mattress a bit softer. The breakfast wasn't the best, very slim pickings. The kids enjoyed the bacon and cereal.

This is a historic property that has been renovated. It was quiet and clean. We enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was standard fare and good. I'm not sure why the TV came on in the middle of the night when we were asleep with my name across the screen. Maybe it's haunted!
Because it is older, it lacks some room amenities such as coffee in the room, no bathroom counter space, and the pillows looked wonderful but had no substance or support so your head sinks straight to the mattress.

Our room, while very small, was clean. The bed was comfortable. And, while our room was next to the elevator, it was mostly quiet. We had a delicious dinner downstairs in the attached restaurant. Breakfast the next morning was great! I appreciated the offerings.
The bathroom was lovely. However, the condition of the mirror (scratched or something) made it difficult to apply makeup. Also, there is no space in the bathroom to put things down (pedestal sink☹️).

Great location in the very center of town along with convenient free parking. Although an historic building and decor, the amenities were very modern; i.e., the shower/bathroom; etc. The bed and linens were VERY comfortable--right up there with five-star hotels that offer their bedding for purchase!
Early May is the offseason, so the hotel restaurant was not open nor were there many options in the historic downtown area of Jackson. I would suggest the continental breakfast offer a few more choices such as toast and toppings other than just plain cream cheese for the bagels--there are individual packets of peanut butter and jams available that would be nice.

This hotel, located at the head of the old town Main Street in Jackson, is beautifully furnished, with period furniture and historic photos of the town. Location is literally about the most ideal spot for those wishing to wander in the many shops and restaurants lining Main Street. Our stay was over New Year's weekend, however, so most of the shops and restaurants on Main Street were closed. Our room was spotless and a blend of historic furnishings with modern appliances. An elevator is available. The king bed was really comfortable with a soft duvet and down pillows. Breakfast was very basic on the holiday weekend, with microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and cereals, plus juices, yogurt, milk, etc. Plastic plates and utensils. Not in operation was an industrial size espresso machine, sigh. However, coffee in thermos was good and plentiful, and the attending lady kept everything clean and stocked. All in all, we had a very pleasant experience at the National Hotel and we look forward to staying here again.

Lovely old historic building right in center of old town. Has had recent updates and room painting. Staff were very helpful. At least one very nice restaurant with half a block. Breakfast included
Note that rooms are smaller than in modern hotels but seemed to have everything needed. Breakfast was different from most---bacon, eggs, etc prepackaged and heated in microwave but amazingly tasted just fine.

The staff, the ambiance (Victorian) and the comfort. Heat and air that functioned well. Breakfast offered.
The shower head was very high up and the control was a little difficult to figure out. Access to the Internet wasn't functioning. While all areas I encountered were spotlessly clean, the carpeting in the room was obviously old and faded. It detracted from the otherwise lovely room.
