The location is perfect. The rooms are cute and clean (we have stayed here before). The bar is wonderful.

We had good food at the restaurant on the night we stayed and decided to have breakfast in the morning. The waitress seemed a little overwhelmed and there were not many customers. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict - hubby ordered the breakfast burger. It took an hour for our food to arrive. Hubby’s food was good, mine was awful. It was not smoked salmon but I believe left over salmon from the night before smashed into the croissant. The eggs were overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was non existent, very disappointing. However we will come back to the hotel as we do really like it here

Visited for New Years Eve Prohibition event. It was probably the best New Years experience we've had. Encouraging patreons to join staff by dressing in era appropriate clothes created an authentic feel. Dinner was lovely. Drinks in the Copper Room made the evening perfect! The musicians & singers were great to listen to all night. Normally we would never go out on New Years. Many public events in Sacramento (where we live) aren't even safe to attend anymore. Drunk unruly crowds have led to more than one shooting in Old Sacramento (very similar historical town). It's sad when we have an equally cool spot in our own backyard yet it is too dangerous to enjoy. Sutter was safe, not overly crowded, no obnoxious intoxicated people. Just a relaxing & enjoyable experience. We will be making the drive to visit in the future. Well worth traveling for.

No tiny fridge/microwave made us order less at restaurant downstairs no way to safely keep/reheat. Missed opportunity to capitalize on the restaurant by offering some sort of room service; even limited menu & hours would go a long way to add to the luxury feel.

The room was very clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We really liked being able to go downstairs to a nice restaurant and bar.

For the price, the small amenities we're missing. For example, the towels were not very luxurious but were on the small and scratchy side, there was only one washcloth, and no glasses for the bathroom. The lack of a mini fridge was also a negative.

Comfortable bed. Adequate storage to unpack luggage into. Good restaurant in the hotel. Staff were very attentive and friendly. While they say breakfast is not included, they did have a few pastries and coffee available gratis in the morning before the restaurant opened. Restaurant opens at 10. We went to Sutter Creek for the ragtime festival. Staying in that hotel was in the center of town and perfect for us.

The hotel is very, very old. It does have updated plumbing and bath fixtures. Lighting in the room and bath are okay, but not good. In the bath, for example, you would not want to do elaborate makeup. It is difficult and expensive to maintain such an old building. The place is not slick and modern. We have no complaints, but we were aware of the effort and expense it takes to maintain the place, and that the room price reflects that. We plan to stay there again.

We were only there for a night and settled for one of the smaller room. It was clean and confortable, it had a nice clean shower (no bath). The room itself was a bit small (with a double) which was not unexpected at that price point, but if I was booking again, I would probably try to get a slightly larger and pricier room. I have to say that Cole from the front desk service who did our check in was very friendly and offered us some great dining and wine tasting recommendations.

Not much to complain about, other than some muffled scratching noises from within the walls, which sounded like a rodent scurrying about throughout the night. Might wanna have that checked out.

Sutter Creek was delightful and staying in this traditional hotel was special. The foyer, and balcony were very attractive. The kids loved the tortoise elevator story!

Our room had everything we needed or expected but the high and non-opening windows made it feel a little closed off. We weren't there for long so it wasn't a big deal.

Wonderful location for Sutter Theater. Very comfortable bed. Great bathroom. TV volume complaint addressed while I was out of the room. Thank you! Restaurant for breakfast was amazing!

Long wait for hot water in shower. Conditioner and bath gel dispensers inoperable. Volume on tv but … taken care of.

The bed was super comfortable and the room was charming. Shower was fabulous.

It would have been helpful if the staff knew the address, knew that they had extra toothbrushes, and remembered who ordered food and what their room number was. These people were pleasant and accommodating, however, I missed having my food delivered and getting a toothbrush.

The people who work here were very kind and accommodating. The person who helped me at the front desk was friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a good conversation whenever we interacted. The hotel itself is very nice and my room was quaint, with that old time feel to it. I loved it. The room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The small town itself was pleasant to take a walk around and see. The hotel is located in the middle of the downtown area so everything is within easy walking distance. I would come back here in a heartbeat and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visited this area.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about it. We had a perfect weekend stay!
