Stained-glass windows, carved wooden furniture, colourful tiles, hand painted ceilings with ornaments. We felt literally like in a fairy tale palace. Moreover, the building itself was surrounded with beautiful spacious gardens. The stuff was exceptionally helpful: not only she printed boarding passes for us in the early morning moments before the flight since we forgot to do so the day before, she even knocked our room as we nearly happened to overslept the flight. All of this happened before 4 a.m. She didn’t have to do anything of it at all, but she did.

Totally nothing.

Gotta love this place. Just 6 bedrooms, tucked away in this beautiful, authentic Moroccan house, with its indoor courtyard and spacious common rooms, an architectural perfection, and our host, the lovely Mekki, told us the story of the property, built by his Father, and his own ongoing project to turn it into an ecolodge. It is, in some ways, a work in progress, with the pool yet to be completed and other works in hand. Inside, it is a sanctuary. Cool, calm, elegant and stylish. The library is particularly beautiful, with its old books and large outside terrace, my favourite room, but the whole building is an oasis of calm in a frenetic world. The staff are delightful. The food is excellent and good value - I particularly recommend the chicken lemon tagine (although with a rather limited choice, we found 3 nights exhausted the dinner possibilities) The villa is not licensed but Mekki is happy to fridge wine/beer for you to enjoy on the terrace or with dinner. The whole thing is a mad romantic folly and we absolutely loved it. Dont stay in an anonymous modern hotel block, stay here, in the middle of a a dream of Arabian Nights. It's so worth it.

There were a few hiccups. The hot water can be a little random, choose your moment. Be aware, they do not accept cards, but online bank payment can be arranged on request. It's a little hard to find - thank heavens for google - but once you are behind the huge gates you are away from the traffic and the noise and in a different world. And, tbh, the bed in my room was a little firm for my old bones. Only other note, we had 2 rooms, the double room was much nicer and roomier than the twin.

Villa du Souss is on the outskirts of Agadir, so it is perfect for anyone with a car. The villa itself is tucked away off of the main road, and there is a 24 hours manned gate at the entrance to let you in at any hour. The rooms are lovely, and the villa has many open rooms for common space. The hosts we met, Miki and Khaoudr, where kind and helpful for us, offering really great suggestions for things to do and places to see, and also helping us make arrangements for dinners and laundry. This is a great location from which to drive south, for example to Souss-Massa National Park, or to to head inland, for example to Taroudant. We did both, and it was lovely and relaxing at the end of long days to pull into Villa du Souss. it is also possible to drive into Agadir for the evening, but it will take 35 to 45 minutes to get to the port or Founty neighborhood. The breakfasts were excellent. We also arranged to have dinner at Villa du Souss one evening, and it was one of the best tajines I had in Morocco (it was the beef with prunes and almonds tajine).

The location was not very close to many eating establishments. This is something to be aware of if you arriving later in the day. If you are arriving late and plan to relax, it would be a good idea to consider arranging for supper with Villa du Souss before your arrival.

This old family estate is turned into a wonderful riad. It has a great atmospher. Lovely garden. Kautar and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. My daughter was sick, so we stayed in all day. The staff took really good care of us. The homecooking is excellent. We think it was very kind of Mekki, the owner, that he got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything worked out with the taxi to the airport.

After travelling in Marocco for 3 weeks, this whole area, and also this riad, appeared to be far more expensive than in the rest of this lovely country. This also goes for the transport to Agadir. It was a pity that the pool is still being built and the airco was maybe to small to keep us cool.

If you’re looking for a truly authentic Moroccan experience, this is the place to be. It is a traditional old family house now turned into a hotel. The architecture of this house is so unique and elegant. Rooms are decorated with traditional Moroccan designs. The food is also delicious, all home cooked meals. The lady who looks after the place helped us so much. Thanks to her we were able to experience a true Moroccan hospitality.

You’ll need a pre booked taxi every time you head out and the taxi app drivers don’t want to come near hotels to pick up guests. I think it’s an ongoing problem all over Morocco, I hope they find a solution soon.

This was our second stay here, having already stayed at the beginning of our trip. Really handy for the airport so we booked in again for the night before our flight home. What an incredible place! A very traditional style Moroccan family run boutique hotel with beautiful exteriors and interiors, multiple public rooms (library, living room, dining room, courtyard) and an incredible garden that we enjoyed walking around and sitting in. We were welcomed and looked after by the lovely Kawtar who was the most amazing host and she made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped through the door - one of the most genuinely friendly and helpful members of staff we've met at any hotel in our travels! We also met Mekki the owner, who was also lovely, and who told us the history of the place and how it was built by his father. The traditional Moroccan dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Lovely homemade food! Can't recommend this place enough!

We loved it all!

Beautiful villa, with many stunning shared spaces available to use. Beautiful setting and incredibly welcoming and helpful staff who arranged all our taxis, (including airport transfers) gave travel advice, and supplied hot drinks at no extra charge). The home cooked food was delicious too. Perfect if you want total peace and quiet and relaxation, and very close to Agadir airport. We stayed for a few days at the beginning of our trip (before getting the bus up to Essaouira for 4 days) and then again for one night at the end before flying home. Both the rooms we stayed in were beautifully decorated and had balconies.

There was nothing really, but I guess people do need to know that you can't really walk anywhere from the villa. If you're going out to explore you'll need a taxi and Agadir city is about a half hour drive.

The property is very nice to walk around. It has beautiful vistas and a well kept garden. Inside the villa there are very stylishly styled rooms that are nice for reading, studying, and eating. The food was 10/10! We enjoyed our Tajin with meat and the freshly baked bread was out of this world. We can recommend staying here if your aim is to relax a few days in between longer travels. The staff was very friendly and organized. We had early flights (06:00) and they had ensured a taxi was there to pick us up and bring it to the airport. Overal we felt very well kept after and welcome.

Nothing negative to share about our experience or the property.

A marvellous ensemble of a former famliyhouse with a splendid garden kept it's atmosphere despite being turned in a 6 room accomodation. The detailing, objects and furniture give it a peculiar distinguished shine ... Thank you for opening this home to your guests. It was a fine final stay in Morocco before getting on the plane.

We would have loved to be able to have breakfast earlier in the morning. :)))) That little minus was largely compensated by the coffee we received . :))
