Splendid modern hotel with - superb breakfast buffet - very comfy beds - great sunset views - nice pool with more great views - smiley staff. Got to be the best hotel in KK, though we didn't stay anywhere else.

Slight smell of mold/damp in room but the whole of KK smells like that, often with an undertone of sewers and/or dried fish.

Brand new (Nov 2022), so it was amazing. Super instagrammable decor with Japanese vibes. Good service, great gym + lap pool, spacious King Room, and excellent breakfast spread. Location is just a 5 min walk from Jesselton Ferry Point, so it is great, for boat trips /diving and also directly facing Sabah Suria mall with good food options and the usual shopping brands (Watsons, Sephora, Cotton On, Levis etc). Fantastic sea views too.

Room Lighting too dim ('atmosphere'), even with all lights on. Friendly staff, but still a bit inexperienced - probably will improve as they handle more customers. Room rates are pricy though, so need to book ahead.

The hotel is situated right by Jesselton pier so easy access to the off shore islands and has a great roof top pool and bar on the 23rd floor where you can watch the sunset across the South China Sea. All the staff were exceedingly helpful and if you requested something it was pretty much done instantaneously.

I can’t think of anything that we didn’t enjoy here -we had 3 nights there and I guess that on all of those days and nights there was some private function or gathering happening but these didn’t really interfere with what we wanted to do. Everything modern and new and very clean although the building next door to the hotel is a bit dilapidated. I was a bit disappointed with the beer on draught ( carlsberg ) and given the emergence of craft beers in Malaysia I think the hotel should offer a local beer in the bar but have to say the selection of different guns from all over the world one of the best I’ve seen.

Had an amazing time here. They upgraded me to a suite, and it was massive! The bed was super comfy, the living room was great for relaxing, and the bathroom—wow. Beautiful design, with perfect water pressure and temperature. Location-wise, it’s super convenient. I literally just had to cross the road to get to Suria Mall. Breakfast was top notch with lots of variety and great quality. And I have to say, the staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous—they really made the stay even better. Honestly, I’d come back even if it’s just to stay in the hotel all day. It was that good.

Ddidnt like the fact that it was a temporary stay. Wish I could stay there forever.

Spacious deluxe room. Lovely sunset views from the bar and area by the pool. Gym had basic equipment and do what we needed it too. Staff at the bar and restaurant were accommodating and helpful. Hotel is located very close to the pier to take the boats off to the islands. Room has all the things you need such as ironing board and iron, hairdryer, supply of coffee/tea and bottled water as well as lotions, shampoo and conditioner.

A very busy hotel. Was fully booked when we were there so it meant pool, restaurant, bar, lobby was very crowded and noisy. Someone threw up in the lobby which took the staff a while to clean up. Not a pleasant sight. Pool area didn’t have any sunbeds and isn’t the place to catch any sunrays due to the design.

Love the sea view, love the spacious room with amenities, front office staff very helpful. Near to Suria sabah mall and jesselton duty free mall, walking distance to Gaya street Sunday market, near to restaurant and tong hing supermarket. Near to jetty if you plan to go for i and hoping. Love the hotel design simple and yet modern.

If there will be a Dyson hairdryer and locitane body wash shampoo and hair conditioner, variety of nepresso capsule and fruit basket instead of all green apple it will be more better. Hope there is more car parking for in house guest, with such a huge room and price range should accommodate for 3 people instead of 2 people only hope management can add more people maybe 4 people for this room.

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is a brand-new hotel from the renowned Hyatt chain, and it shows. The rooms are standard, very clean, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Special mention goes to the thoughtfully designed robes and slippers that perfectly match the hotel’s modern aesthetic. The breakfast is absolutely exceptional! With stunning views of the city and an incredible variety of dishes from different cuisines, it’s easily the best breakfast we’ve had during our trip across Asia. Another highlight is the massive pool with breathtaking views of the city and the port — a perfect spot to relax and soak in the ambiance. Highly recommended for those who appreciate style, comfort, and top-notch service!

As is common with this chain, the staff can come across as slightly aloof, but they are still friendly and professional.

We had an excellent stay at Hyatt Centric. The decor and decoration was beautiful and very tasteful. Our room itself felt large and was wonderfully equipped, in particular we loved the Nespresso coffee machine. We didn't use the minibar but the prices seemed very reasonable. The views from the sky bar were excellent and cocktail prices were slightly expensive but the happy hour deals were good. Good vicinity to the ferry port and easy to walk around KK from here. Would definitely stay here again.

I value properties that are clean, well-maintained, and offer excellent value for money.

During my stay, I encountered a strong, unpleasant odor in my room that was nearly nauseating. Interestingly, after returning from work and re-entering the room, the smell had vanished, leaving the room smelling pleasant. The hotel staff promptly addressed the issue by relocating me to a different room. However, the sudden disappearance of the odor upon re-entry was quite perplexing and suggests there might be an underlying problem that needs attention.

I cannot fault this Hotel. Best hotel I ever stayed in in all of my travels. We had the biggest room on level 5 with a walk in wardrobe. The breakfast buffet had the most amazing selections to cater to all taste and to top it all, the menu had something different everyday. Every single day. And the fruits and chilled food were all kept in refrigerated coolers which made me feel safe to eat - hygienic and fresh. The staff were all amazing and friendly. The whole hotel was very clean. The bar and pool were excellent - great entertainment and food. Pool was great. Location was perfect. Shopping mall was just across the road and good location to catch a boat to the islands. And best of all, when I lost my ring in the pool, they did everything they could to locate it. It was finally found by another kind patron (thank you whoever you are) after we had flown out of the country. But the amazing staff at Hyatt Centric organised the return of my ring back to Australia. What hotel does that? None - only Hyatt Centric KK. We are booking this place again next time - for sure.
