So cute and well-themed! Great location—right on the pedestrian mall and easy access to many fun shops and venues. The bed was a bit soft for me but that’s just preference. The common areas were very welcoming, clean, and bright. The team was friendly, fast, professional and personable. Rate wildly fluctuate and I’ll definitely stay here again any time I am in Iowa City and can get a good rate.

I’m not sure how much the noise from the pedestrian mall would bother travelers or people trying to sleep here before the parties end in the mall. I was there during a slow season (about four weeks before school started) so without all the college kids in town it was not loud at the ped mall.

LOVE the library-esque Iowa decor. The rooms and lobby were very clean. The staff were friendly. There were two full mirrors plus the bathroom mirror. The shower head was adjustable and had very good pressure/flow. There was free water in the mini fridge and free instant coffee. A little cabinet was between the beds with extra outlets. On the other side of each bed was a wall sconce with an outlet and small shelf for a phone & drink

Most of the pillows were down filled and I have allergies to down. Two of the eight pillows in the room were not so I just used those. Our bathroom was also missing a soap bar for hand washing. We brought our own soap so it was fine.

The location is great, walkable to restaurants, shops, history, etc. The ambiance and writing theme appreciated, perfect for U of Iowa.

The automatic light in the bathroom drove me a bit nuts last stay and this one. This time was even dangerous as the light would go off repeatedly while my daughter was in the shower. The light was not intuitive for me, perhaps some instructions on to how to use/adjust it. The danger was increased for me as I found the tub floor quite slippery when showering. The danger was increased again by the tub not draining well.

amazing staff, accommodated early and late check out request, always greeted with a smile. The location is great, you literally walk out in the heart of down town with all great restaurants and attractions at walking distance. The parking is only 15$/day, very convenient.

the AC was making a bit of noise, no big deal since I'm heavy sleeper, I mentioned that at time of check out and the nice guy at front desk did apologize. I'm pretty sure if I mentioned that earlier they would have fixed it or moved us to a different room.

The location is perfect, especially if you are there for the university. We stay there nearly every time we visit our child. We had trouble with the air conditioning system the first night. The maintenance man who came to look at it was absolutely amazing. He couldn't fix it, moved us to another room and gave us a history lesson on the pictures in the room.....AWESOME.

The only thing that is a deterrent to the hotel is no breakfast....but the location offsets that.

The location of the hotel was great. Walking distance to dining, shopping, museums, and campus. The attached coffee shop and bar were convenient. The hotel had that kitchty vibe going for it. Made it fun and unique to be in.

We requested a roll-away bed for two of the nights we were there for our 6-night stay - that being the first and last nights. We had to visit the front desk twice to get housekeeping to bring the bed up. Both times, the employee did not seem thrilled to be doing this task and we had to ask both times for bedding for the roll-away. This request was not well received by the employee either time.

The office staff was wonderful checking in, and checking out. I just dropped my daughter off for her freshman year at Iowa. While checking out the young man gave me his business card and told me to reach out when I come back, and he would take care of me. My daughter is my only child, and I'm. 11-12 hrs away...he was so kind!! We will definitely be back to stay again!!

Loved the vintage vibe of the hotel.

First room our TV and phone didn't work. Waited for maintenance which was too long. Got moved to a second comparable room that worked for us. Elevators had security scan that no one explained to us until I had to get someone to show us how it worked. My husband can't walk very far, so this hotel probably won't be best place for him,but I didn't realize that when I got the reservation. Fortunately the staff Tyler went above and beyond trying to fix all the issues that we had with the rooms.

The hotel itself was certainly unique and staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided complimentary bike rentals to guests, which really set this place above and beyond for me and my daughter. They had ball rooms on the basement floor and an attached bar and Cafe. The location was phenomenal, with plenty to do in walking distance. We were really wowed by our stay here.

I struggle to think of anything that would be considered a negative. At first I was confused by the parking arrangements, but the lady at the front desk was helpful in streamlining that process into something easy as well. Incredible hotel.

Perfect location, beautiful accommodations, extremely comfortable bed, I toothpaste is really well done decor both in the hotel room and throughout the hotel. Great public balcony. Coffee shop and restaurant in the hotel were fantastic. Very easy in and out parking garage that is part of the hotel.
