Nice enough: The hotel is located in the heart of the Gruyères enclave, which can be both a blessing and a drawback (more on that below). The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean, and the beds were comfortable, no issues there. What follows is more advice for future tourists than criticism of the hotel itself:

This is not hotel-specific: if you can, I’d suggest avoiding an overnight stay inside the Gruyères enclave. Parking is limited to paid lots outside the village, prices are high, and there isn’t much to do that you couldn’t enjoy just as well on a day visit. As for the hotel itself, my only real criticism is the breakfast. The selection was very limited and the quality left something to be desired. You’re probably better off spending your euros on breakfast elsewhere.

When we arrived in the afternoon the hotel restaurant and terrace was packed with tourists and the staff was extremely busy. Despite this Jasmin and Victoria found time to welcome us and to have us checked in eventually. Our rooms was extremely large, locaed on the third floor with view of the inner part and the fountain of Gruyere. Water pressure and hot water supply was excellent. There is even a lift to the third floor, which makes for a very comfortable stay.. We can recommend this hotel for one night stay to experience this quaint village after all the tourists have gone.

My fondue for dinner was not the best I ever had. Not sure what kind of cheese was for Moite-Moite. There was not a single piece of garlic inside, nor a little Kirsch. Ok but could be improved.

The location was excellent. We enjoyed staying in the village. This gave us an advantage to walk about early in the morning, before the busloads of tourists arrive. There is also a Catholic Church within the village in case you want to hear mass.

We were not aware that we could have taken the car to the hotel at certain hours to unload our luggage instead of dragging the luggage up to the village on foot. We eventually figured that we could take the car to the hotel to load our luggage before our early morning departure, as long as we leave the village before 9 or 10 am. We were happy to have an elevator, even if it was tiny.

Large room, amazing views, reduced price for parking in village available. Clean and comfortable. Perfect location for all of Gruyères. Restaurant was nice.

Breakfast not worth the €15 wish we'd eaten elsewhere. Wasn't replenished thoughout the service, so ended up picking at scraps after 9am. Had to ask for butter, had to wait to be able to ask for a coffee, staff unavailable. One lady with blonde curly hair was great, the day she wasn't there seemed chaotic.

We had the new apartment next to the hotel, well equipped and laid out with a good terrace with a lovely view. Friendly staff. We parked in P2 as P1 was full about 4pm but were able to move up to P1 at 6pm - not a long walk.

The only mistake made was not to provide any lighting in the sitting area of the apartment so impossible to read there. Should be easy to fix

A very cosy hotel, very central, very warm. The room was clean, with enough space for two people and for a short stay. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant, just a small snack, and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly, they allowed us to check in earlier and on departure they kept our luggage for us. A pleasant experience, which I would definitely recommend.

While I slept, I felt the cold, so the only negative was the temperature of the room. Maybe it was possible to regulate the temperature, I don't know. For the rest, very good.

Location was great, staff was very friendly, room was pretty and cosy alpine style, pillows and blankets&sheets were very comfortable and i appreciated 2 pillows per person (extras were in cubboard so no need to go request them separately)

Bed was too hard for my liking, but I know many people prefer "sturdy" mattress. The curtains didn't block light enough. Also room was a bit too warm (visit in october so outside was cold) but I should have just opened window more i guess.

Great location, rooms nicely fitted out, four-poster bed was a nice touch. Hotel is smack in the centre of the village.

Be prepared to drag your luggage over the cobblestones in front of all the tourists to the hotel - cars not allowed into the town even to drop bags off…

Fantastic location and views, we had a studio apartment. It was lovely and spacious.

There was some confusion about the restaurant. Apparently, they don't run a tab to pay at the end of stay. Staff were confused about the protocol.

A nice hotel along the main drag in the quaint and picturesque medieval village of Gruyères. We had a very spacious room offered at a discount, and enjoyed the nice breakfast in the morning well worth the CHF 15 per person.

We had a miscommunication and understood that the room was available for check-in from 10:00am, which was not the case. We were, however, able to secure our baggage and enjoy a hike during the day before ultimately checking in later in the afternoon.
