The hotel was full of atmosphere with feeling of cozyness everywhere. The room was fairly basic, but the interior furnishings and the record player more than made up for it. The staff were friendly but not intrusive, and the fellow guests all seemed good mannered and courteous. Hotel was a short walk from downtown and the riverfront pathways, with many interesting shops and cafes in between.

The road noise from Galloway St. was a bit more than expected, but not enough to be bothersome. It would have been even nicer if the Lakely restaurant offered breakfast.

Gorgeous hotel, not sure why there are negative reviews. Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel is cute. Room was spacious and some drinks and other items can be bought on site. The little shop beside it is also great for gifts. Lovely location, a short walk to restaurants and shops and the nearby River Walk is beautiful

There is a smell of damp plaster or something similar in the communal areas but we spent very little time in that area, so no problem at all. Explained other people's comments, but as a minor thing it didn't bother us at all

The ambiance and comfort of the room and lobby area. The location downtown was exactly what we needed, and it's close to great restaurants, bars, and shops. The cleanliness was great. I also like the history of the building. My grandpa stayed there when he returned from France in 1957 and caught a ride on the bread truck back home. So cool to see history restored and kept alive.

I would've loved a few more breakfast options included with the stay. There were items for purchase, but simple pastries or a grab-and-go would've been appreciated. I believe they had some oatmeal available, but that was it.

We loved the laid-back, artsy feel of the hotel. The location is superb. This section of Eau Claire is going through a rebirth and we were happy to take advantage. We had a 25-minute walk to a ballgame one night, and 15 minutes to live outdoor music the next. The city's magnificent trail system is just across the street. The Oxbow is also a terrific value. We will definitely be back.

The futon/couch in our room was not comfortable.

Loved the turntable in our room, with LPs at the reception area to check out (on an old library card check-out) and enjoy. Walked all over Eau Claire for dinner, then landed in the hotel's restaurant on drag bingo night instead. Great hors d'oeuvres and atmosphere.

We never really found a good casual restaurant in our walks. Part of the problem could have been that we didn't really know what we wanted.

Loved the record player and that you could check out vinyls from the front desk. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about things in the area and where I could find things that I may have forgotten.

I wish that the restaurant was open and that they had food being served. It looks like a really great place. It would have made this day well over at 10. I did have to leave to go get food, but that was OK.

It was clean. We liked the retro minimalist vibe of the rooms, spacious king suite, comfy bed and 3 sided view. The Lakely restaurant craft cocktails and open mic night was a fun surprise. We also enjoyed listening to a couple of vinyl LP records in our room on the record player. Great location near the River Walk and Civic and Arts Center downtown.

No towel bar or trash can next to the sink area. The very hard futon as a couch. The art in the hotel felt a bit juvenile, but not offensive.

The bed was very comfortable. Cute, rustic, decorated for Halloween. Complimentary breakfast of individualized Bob’s Red Mill organic oatmeal or Quaker Instant Oatmeal, fresh fruit, small muffin, great coffee or organic Jasmine Green Tea. A choice of a cozy lounge near the fireplace to eat breakfast and relax, sitting at the polished wood window bar to look out at the street or the gallery room with local art and good “alternative” music playing. A chance to bring up to three vinyl records up to your room to play. Very handy to have a cool restaurant also attached, sometimes playing live music.

Wished the restaurant, The Lakely, had more choices for food. The food was pretty good, but the menu was extremely small. Their cocktail list is enormous, and looked like fun.

I loved the Scandinavian/Mid century/ quirkiness of the hotel and our room. There was a record player in the room and you can borrow vinyl records from the lobby. Our room was sparse but very comfortable. The room has a small refrigerator. The location was perfect! And the restaurant connected was great! AND the jazz performers rocked it!

I was expecting plastic cups or any sort of beverage holder. There was none.

Room was very spacious with very comfortable beds. It was fantastic to have a record player in the room as well as a refrigerator.

We stayed on the second floor and the music from the restaurant was very loud despite them having only a few patrons at the time. We did not mind hearing the live performers singing until 1000pm, but after that, there was loud music until after 3am. They do provide earplugs in the room, but honestly for $210 a night I would think the music could be turned down to a less intrusive level after midnight.
