Rooms have everything you need, clean and spacious. Beds are comfy. The food and drink is very reasonably priced, really good value for money. We ate from the bar menu the first evening sat on the terrace, the second evening we went into the restaurant, both meals were lovely with good choice. The staff were amazing both on reception and the restaurant/bar. So accommodating and friendly.
This isn’t a negative about the property, just some advice to others. Our first evenings stay, we had an upstairs room in the annex. The room itself was great and the views from those rooms are stunning. But travelling for a dog show with a very large Dogue de Bordeaux who has never been upstairs it wasn’t ideal for us. The staff were great and managed to move us downstairs. We know now to ask when we book for a downstairs.

My husband and I were in a room in the annex. It was really nice with all the usual facilities . Very clean and tidy with comfy beds. We did not have any meals at the hotel as we were visiting family but on a previous stay the meals were very good. All in all a nice break.
Noisy guests upstairs. At 5-5.30 am they were walking about, slamming doors and up and down the stairs to their car. This went on until 7.30 a. m when they thankfully left. Also the shower was over the bath and as I am 76 years old with an arthritic hip I couldn't use the shower. Next time I will be sure to request a walk-in shower!

Have stayed before and this time went for the suite as it was my husbands birthday, room was fantastic! Spacious and extremely clean, had spoke with the hotel before hand and the sorted balloons in the room for us on arrival with a bottle of wine for a small fee!! Great commilunication throughout!
Heating wasn't working properly second night, wasn't freezing but cool, went to reception to speak to someone around 2230/2300 nobody there called the number on the notice no answer multiple calls, however went to the bar and the lady at the bar got me a small heater and the heating sorted. Didn't ruin our time though and will definitely be back!!

The room was nice, clean, and well-maintained. The receptionist was polite and helpful. We were delighted to see that there were three chairs provided, which was perfect for our three-person room.
I almost booked a different hotel due to a concerning note in "The fine print" on Booking.com stating "Please note that the property does not accept any arrivals after 23:00." Fortunately, after calling the hotel, they confirmed that arriving after midnight was acceptable. This discrepancy should be clarified on the booking platform.

I arrived a little later than anticipated and the staff were very friendly and accommodating upon my arrival ... including a nice piece of humorous banter with the duty manager when I rang the hotel earlier! Although I arrived mid-evening food was still being served and I ordered a steak pie with chips (and a pint!) which was really nice and decently priced. The room I was staying in was much larger than I'd anticipated and it was clean with all the facilities I required for my one night stay. I didn't take up the offer of breakfast as I needed to make a quick getaway in the morning. There was ample car parking space in the hotel grounds.
The largeness of the room was quite overwhelming for me staying just the one night and on my own ... the ceiling was very high and the blinds and curtains required a bit of effort to close given their sheer size. These are not criticisms of the room per se but observations given that I usually don't stay in rooms quite so grand! What appears at first glance to be a double bed is actually two single beds adjacent to each other which wasn't a problem for me but thought it was worth pointing out in case people have a preference for a double.

We originally just booked two double rooms, when we arrived, it looked like a large bus of tourists had filled the hotel, so when we received our keys to our room and opened the door, we were amazed! It was the honeymoon suite, and, it was fabulous!!!! Little did the staff know that it was our wedding anniversary. We have never enjoyed a better upgrade as much!!
We only received two bath towels… total. There were no hand towels, bath mats, wash cloths etc. at all. We went to the front desk and asked for some hand towels and they informed us they had a shortage and could only give us another bath towel. It worked but it was rather odd.

The overall aesthetic was stunning. I’d like to also put a little mention in for young boy Nathan who was absolutely exceptional. We arrived around half 6ish the night before my wedding and Nathan provided 10000/10 customer service. He was out of this world, and deserves some recognition for it. He went out of his way to help bring bags in and to our rooms, always asking if we needed anything and if we were doing okay. He was just a breath of fresh air. I’ve never had service like it anywhere I’ve stayed before. My family and friends agreed. The girl who was on shift at the same time and helped with stuff to the room was unreal too. She was so kind and lovely, and helpful. Each and every member of staff we encountered were absolutely lovely, and couldn’t do enough for us. An absolute pleasure to stay here. The suite is out of this world too. Absolutely stunning. Nicest room I’ve ever stayed in. We didn’t want to leave!! And despite living down the hill from the hotel, my now husband and I will definitely come for an overnight stay!

For a single room, there was plenty of space in the room itself and the bed was of a decent size with a very comfortable mattress. The room was very clean and came with plenty of tea/coffee and complimentary biscuits
The shower was very small and made it difficult to be able to actually wash myself. Creaky floors mean that every movement in other rooms can be heard. Hotel is not miles away from the centre of Bo'ness but the walk from the centre is very hilly and certainly caught me by surprise with my bags

The bar area is a fun place to gather. The staff are excellent, from the front desk to the dining room. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. A special call out to Cameron, our superstar, for his excellent customer service skills and sense of humour. He recommended the K-Bob for dinner and it was superb. There was also a lovely young lady on breakfast duty two days in a row while we were there. I didn't catch her name (long blonde ponytail), but she made a cup of stronger coffee the first day when I asked and then had it waiting on the second day when I returned. Great staff makes this place. The food quality was excellent. Breakfast included was delicious. The price of drinks was surprising (to the good). We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Bathrooms could have been a little larger and a little cleaner on the floor. And it's an old hotel so the noise of people walking through the hallways and the squeaky floors was a little disturbing late at night and early in the morning - but the quaintness of the Inn makes up for it.

The position of the hotel near our relatives and the helpful staff. The car park is good even when busy and although the climb to the bedroom was a bit circuitous we were well able to do it. The room had a good view of the sea which we miss at home now.
The door to the bathroom was sticking a bit and the bathroom was a bit tight for room and short of handholds for elederly like us. The breakfast was a bit variable at the weekend with slightly frazzled bacon though perfectly edible. It also had DIY toast which is a bit time consuming.
