I would like to epecially commend the staff at the hotel for looking after my mum -who booked seperately- after she suffered a minor incident in front of the hotel hours before I was able to get there. We can't thank them enough. The staff could not be more helpful without exception. The room was clean and comfortable. Very good standard for a hotel in this price range. I also found the staff in the businesses nearby to be very warm and friendly.

My single room had a shower and sink but had a private toilet across the hall.I knew this on booking but I might book a bigger room with all facilities if I stayed again. The car park is tiny for the amount of customers using dining facilities. There was little room information nor wifi code in my room: No information on how to contact anyone and other than the housekeeper there was no one around until 10am. There is a liitle bit of tlc needed in places (windows and doors) however, despite this I was very impressed with the hotel. I've worked in hotels all my life including as a duty manager in a major international chain- I was surprised to see a small family run budget hotel operating at this standard.

Wonderful friendly staff, all very helpful. My room and ensuite were very clean. Bed and bedding superb. The location was a lot further from both the city and the airport and trains than i had anticipated. This made for expensive taxis. There was however, very easy access to buses right outside and both sides of the road. Aside from having a very busy bar and restaurant in-house, the area has ample eateries both dine in and takeout, also convenience store and supermarkets all within close walking distance.. I was very happy with my stay thank you.

The room was nice and large with 2 double beds a settee a table with glass on and a mirror also tea and coffee making facilities, this was room 2 on first floor, above the restaurant 😀, The bar staff was friendly and welcoming but we are known as stay here regularly on visiting family and grandchildren. Location is good for visiting family also not far from livingstone centre, a bus ride from Edinburgh and not far from train station in Uphall.

The downside to our stay is that the tv in the room only had 5 channels which also had no radio stations on, so could only watch either BBC1,BBC2,ITV,CHANNEL 4 OR CHANNEL 5, just like in the 1980s lol so watched glastonbury concert all night.

Large room and good sized bathroom. Nice duvet and pillows. Meal in the restaurant was tasty. Waitressing staff were friendly.

Only minor dislikes but it was quite noisy until late. It is Christmas party season... but it was only a Wednesday! It would have been nice to have better coffee in the room, especially as there is no breakfast option. Parking outside the hotel was busy, when I first arrived I had to park on the street. Was expecting a cozy coaching inn style bar but it was bright with a massive TV screen!

We booked the hotel due to its name, and we are also OATRIDGE . I told them we wanted to stay there as it was our 20th anniversary. Upon arrival, there was a complimentary bottle of fizz, card, and helium balloon. Such a thoughtful gesture. The staff were so friendly and the restaurant food was outstanding. Best meal I have had in a long time. Really large room and great comfortable beds. Crisp clean linen. Can't believe it's only a 2 star.

The only negative comment would be the noise from above our room. You could hear people walking quite loudly, but the next night I bought ear plugs and slept really well.

We booked the hotel because our name is also Oatridge . We were visiting Edinburgh for our 20th wedding anniversary and when we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of fizz, a card and a balloon for us. So thoughtful. The bedroom.was huge and very clean . The bed was also very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is exceptional. We were amazed. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and I will definitely return.

This is an amazing hotel for the price. If I had to nit pick it would only be the noise from above our bedroom. Apart from that excellent.

Gordon, the host, is a very lovely person and kind and helpful. His staff is excellent and always speaks to you, checking everything is OK. The restaurant is very attractive, and the menu is value for money, The rooms are nice and cosy as well as spacious with all conveniences supplied coffee and tea making facilities along with the iorning board and iorn. Local shops nearby, free WiFi in rooms. Onsuiet bathroom, comfy bed and sofa, 2 double beds in room. Table for working.

A nice small town with lots of places to eat. The X18 bus from Edinburgh Waverley stops outside and the 902 bus to the airport stops across the road. The room was compact but had everything I needed. The landlady kindly looked after my 20 kilo suitcase for me and left it in a safe place. I had a superb dinner in the restaurant - I highly recommend it. The hospitality tray was really well stocked so I had a nice coffee ☕ before leaving. I am going to stay here again on my return journey.

There's nothing not to like.

I liked everything about the oatridge hotel. I stay here on all my visits to Scotland when it isn't fully booked. The staff are excellent and very welcoming, the properties are very welcoming and friendly, the restaurant is good value for money and the food is excellent and fairly priced. The rooms are all equipped with tea and coffee making facilities along with a tv wardrobe and nice comfy bed, it is a key fob entry system to your room which is good security. I would rate at a 10 out of 10.

Comfy room with great restaurant... best steak pie EVER! A nice blend of classical inn with modern facilities. Very friendly staff.

The pub is "THE place to be in Uphall on a Saturday night and if you want to see Scots partying like Scots can, then there's a free show to be had. But the party on a Saturday night will be noisy until the wee hours, so there's that. My room had a "private bath" across the hall. The water pressure on the 3rd floor was low. But hey, it's a classic hotel with very friendly staff and I enjoyed my stay.
