Lovely little hotel with extremely helpful staff. Food was good and helpings very generous. The rooms at the front have balconies and a wonderful view. There is even a fleece blanket to wrap up in if it is cold! It is well worth the little extra to have one of these. It is a good centre for exploring west and central Fife. The village is lovely. Our visit was in June when the flowers were wonderful. There is also a bus stop directly outside the hotel which we used to have a day in Dunfermline without having to think about parking.
Just to warn you that the mushy peas on the menu are not the same as these in the north of England!

The staff were exceptional during our stay, very polite and friendly, they were super helpful whenever we needed assistance with anything. The food was amazing and reasonably priced, the portion size was great as well. The breakfast was fantastic with a good variety. The location is great, in a nice quiet village. It's a great location for those visiting Edinburgh who don't want to pay Edinburgh prices. Overall a fantastic hotel with very friendly staff, great food and reasonably priced overall. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Wifi was hit and miss at times but that's the only very minor gripe.

We loved our stay at the Inn. It’s set in a beautiful village overlooking the Firth of Forth and the bridges. We had a room with a balcony which was amazing to sit and take in the view and we were so lucky with the weather. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. We loved the delicious breakfast which also had seating with great views. A wonderful place to explore the local area.
The only problem we came across was the shower in the bathroom didn’t drain very well and the shower tray quickly filled up, had to turn the shower off half way through to let it empty!

Room was spacious if a bit cold but the hotel had provided 2 small electric heaters which helped. Staff were very helpful. Afternoon tea and the meals at dinner were very tasty and good value for money. Noticed they have 4 pods and 2 new lodges which have not opened yet so would consider trying these in the future.
Not the hotels fault but the main A road to the hotel was closed and we eventually managed to follow the rather long diversion to get there. Would have been helpful to have gotten an email from the hotel to let us know in advance. Although breakfast was ok, we went down 50 mins after it starting and the food was not the warmest, so that was a bit disappointing, but there was a good choice.

The sevice was great. The staff was very helpful. The building has character. The location is great. To have the bar and restaurant inside is very convenient. It was very quiet. The luggage was offered to be carried upstairs for me without having to ask. There was always free bottled water in the room which was replenished every day. My room was made every day and the used towels replaced. The shower was small but the shower head and the flow of water was great.
The food was ok but we went out for meals most of the time. The heating system wasn't on. The oil heater was good for the bathroom but the extra fan heater I got was noisy. The stairs are narrow.

As we had our little partially blind Lhasa Apso with us we opted for a pod in the grounds of the hotel. These pods are recently built and very relaxing to stay in . Our little Missy loved it as it was very quiet. The staff were amazing with her too. I can’t say thank you often enough for the welcome we received, we were spoiled. We were visiting family in the area and decided to stay another night which was arranged with no problem at all. Thank you all for making our stay so pleasant, and that’s a Woof woof from Missy too. I would highly recommend any dog owner to consider this Hotel.
Wi-Fi in the area is not the best, totally not the hotels fault, but it was relaxing without phones and emails.. Even the weather was good for us, and that’s a big bonus.

This place is a hidden gem 💎 situated in a quiet village with amazing views. The staff here are very professional and greet you with a welcoming smile, very helpful and attentive to your needs. We booked the glamping pod very clean and cosy. A very great feature for a hotel to have, it was a peaceful night's sleep no noise or traffic to disturb you. The pod had everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The restaurant was also great. The food was delicious, and the service was super fast, although they had a function on and busy. The credit goes to the staff and owner of this hotel, who made our stay great. I highly recommend this hotel and will be returning in the near future. Thank you 😊
There was nothing to dislike.

The Inn is a cosy small hotel, well positioned in the quiet and historic village of Charlestown. There's a pleasant five minute sea-front drive through nearby Limekilns to join the main A985 with easy links to the Forth crossing and the motorway network. The Inn is very tastefully and comfortably furnished in the public areas and in the bedrooms. The staff went out of their way to feed us when we arrived late, after the kitchen had closed. The breakfast is an excellent help-yourself buffet of good food, well cooked and nicely presented. They have a good dinner menu - and they all made a great fuss of the dog!
My only tiny niggle: The shower control of smooth polished chrome is quite impossible to turn with soapy hands.

All the staff we came across where friendly and very helpful. This hotel is very dog friendly and made a fuss of our wee pug, the location was perfect for what we were looking for, a peaceful break next to the shore. We had dinner and this was good pub grub and breakfast was cooked to order, really good. Plenty of free parking. If looking for a calm, peaceful break this hotel is perfect.
There wasn't a lot not to like, however just an observation was there was no atmosphere in the bar area where we ate. A little bit of background music would have been nice, perhaps radio on in the morning.

This is our second stay and it was a comfortable stay. We enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast both days and ate in the restaurant one of the evenings, the food is classic pub food with no frills and the portions were huge. Rooms were warm and comfortable and we had a little balcony overlooking the Firth of Forth. The hotel is extremely dog friendly which is always a bonus for us.
The hotel is now starting to show signs of wear, especially in bathrooms and paintwork around skirtings and woodwork. Although the cleaning standards are clearly very good, there is some perished grouting\ sealant and chipped paintwork that could be improved upon.
