I had a great two-night stay with Colin and Suzanne at Clarke Cottage Guest House - it was a private, comfortable room where I could relax and have a nice base for trips to Edinburgh for a wedding weekend. Just five minutes' walk from Dunfermline Queen Margaret, it was also pretty convenient :) But the highlight was the hospitality shown on arrival and when I was feeling pretty hungover on the last day, where Colin kindly provided me with some food free of charge - that helped me on my way to recovery! Thanks a lot.

Susie and Collin were very welcoming and offered suggestions for things to do. The breakfast area was very pleasant, tables set up beautifully and lovely food. great to have off street parking. 5 to 10 minutes walk to train station to Edinburgh. quiet at night. Nice lounge to sit in if you felt like it.

Was not a lot of room for suitcases but thats ok! bit of a walk into town centre but if driving only 5 to 10 mins drive. lots of great restaurants there.

Suzie and Colin were excellent hosts. Our room was comfortable and we appreciated that there was a little fridge in the room as we're road tripping for a month. There is a lovely sitting room for guests to use. We can recommend the delicious cooked breakfast for an additional 12.50 and my gluten free diet was catered for. There's a good pub a short walk away fur dinner:The Elizabethan. Suzie gave us some good advice on places to visit such as where to see squirrels!

Suzanne and Colin were perfect hosts. Coming from the States, they let me check in early. I heard other guests coming in the back door, but it didn't affect my comfort or sleep. Filling breakfast with the best croissant I have ever tasted hot from the oven. Room comfortable, bed perfect. It completely checks off everything I expect from a Guest House including a reasonable rate. Other guests were also friendly.

I did not experience any negatives during my one-night stay.

Great value for the money paid! The location was great as I had a hospital appointment very early in the morning it’s only about 12 minutes walk away since I can’t drive this worked out great, staff incredibly welcoming and helpful. The house is quite near a main road but you couldn’t hear the traffic at all so I slept really well. I didn’t have the breakfast as I had to leave early but the whole place looked very clean and just nice to be there , I would definitely stay there again and recommend as a place to stay for my family and friends wanting to travel further north .

Didn’t really find anything wrong with the place but I know that the rooms had quite thin walls of which you could hear occasionally walking up and down in the corridor but it didn’t affect me as I was the only one staying there at the time so that’s all .

The property is located within easy walking distance of the Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway station and several bus stops that can get you into town and back in under ten minutes. There is also a walking path that runs parallel to the main road and can bring you into town in about 30 minutes on foot. The proprietor was very kind and explained everything clearly. The setting was very cozy, with homely decor, comfortable furniture and wood accents. The dining area was beautiful with wood beams and natural light. The structure is right off a busy street but the sturdy walls and double glazed windows do a remarkable job of blocking the noise even at street level. The room was prepared in advance with both fresh air and a comfortable temperature. The in-room mini-fridge and ensuite (private bathroom) were extremely helpful. Room also included a place to sit, built-in wardrobe, television, desk space, alarm clock and bed-side table lamp. Black out curtains did a good job of blocking the light from the street, and the bed was very comfortable. The place felt very clean, safe and secure. Both pillows provided were a bit firm for me, and since I like some weight to the bedding the single duvet was a bit light, but I slept well nonetheless and I expect that additional blankets would have been provided had I requested them. The hot and cold bathroom taps are separate and a bit short, but the wash basin was nice and large. A shelf to set things would have been convenient. The water pressure of the shower was neither high nor low and the temperature was sufficiently hot, although it seemed to ignore my adjustments to increase it. I did hear a bit of activity outside the room in the morning, but it was muffled.

The Twin room that I reserved was facing the street which can be a concern if you are noise-sensitive, as I am, however this did not prove to be an issue. It is something to be aware of for those reserving in warmer months who may want to keep the window open.

Warm, friendly welcome from owner at check-in Comfortable beds Wine, juice glasses and proper mugs Enough tea and coffee (biscuits) without having to ask for more Warm shower Mini fridge and corkscrew Spotlessly clean A real gem of a place, it's not until you stay you realise that your getting excellent customer service and how much you miss it.

Nothing it was exactly what I wanted for my stay.

Fantastic place! The hosts were friendly and done everything they could to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms themselves are spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and is cooked to order. In addition to this, there are also cereals, fruit and yoghurts included too.

The hosts are very nice and work hard to make your stay comfortable. The room was well equipped and comfortable. Parking is available on site.

Some road noise was evident and an occasional train was heard but neither were too intrusive. Guests in the next room were heard as perhaps between room insulation is a little basic.

Place was quiet, clean and comfortable. Suitable for my needs. There's a microwave in the kitchen (didn't use this but it was there) There is a bus stop just across the road. Adjustment was made for my time of arrival which was great! If you're looking for just the basics at a good price, I'll recommend this place
