It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel, from the moment you enter the Auld Mill House Hotel you will be welcomed and looked after into this family run clean hotel by the hard working owners who will look after all customers requests with the best Scottish breakfast EVER owners also have a huge knowledge of what to see and do in this area of Fife and on to Edinburgh this helped us plan all out trips with ease.

Would stay longer next time four days was not enough for this visit.

The place was in a great location, very close to the train station and not far from the city, Dunfermline Queen Margret Doesn't have too much around but overall it's a great place to be, staff were helpful and friendly, I had accidentally locked myself out one time and they were more than happy to give a hand, had a great time staying there the facilities were clean and easy to use, the rooms was spacious and very tidy.

No complaints about the hotel what's so ever, had a great stay and felt welcomed from the moment I checked in, it was a safe place too myself being a solo traveller sometimes places can feel a bit daunting but that wasn't present here at all.

Stayed here a year ago so knew what to expect. It’s a good value property with nicely appointed rooms. Good freshly cooked breakfast plus cereal, yogurts, fruit and juice options. Lovely friendly staff. Decent parking. Tea/ coffee making facilities in room. Rooms a decent size. The location although a little out of the city centre is walkable in about a half hour and is close to bus stops. It has easy access from the M90 and there’s a big supermarket along with a number of other stores 10 minutes walk away. It suited us as very close to where our family live. Would definitely always stay here on visits to our family.

The road leading down to the hotel is a bit rough with potholes. Could do with an extra wee shelf right by the washbasin ( there is a mirrored cupboard directly above the basin however) and in the shower ( not the most powerful but did the job)

I needed somewhere within striking distance of North Queensferry, but a little bit cheaper than the extortionate rates of central Edinburgh. The Old Mill House fitted the Bill perfectly for me. At only just over five minutes walk from Dunfermline Queen Margaret Station, and a 10 minute bus ride from the city centre, the location was perfect. My room on the ground floor was comfortable (particularly the bed, which I would happily have stayed in all day…), and the breakfast good. The thing that really made it for me though was the friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietor, who took time to help me orientate myself within the building (I am visually impaired and use a long cane), and even went out of his way to drop me at the station a couple of times. He really made me feel incredibly welcome and valued as a customer, and I would not hesitate to stay again if I am in the area.

The accommodation was clean, fresh, and modern. The on-site bar was a treat after a long day, and the optional breakfast exceeded our expectations in terms of quality, quantity, and preparation. The host has lived on the property for 25 years and is helpful and knowledgeable about the town and its history. The hotel is a very short walk from the station and only about 40 minutes from Edinburgh by train. We’re an elderly couple and a private bathroom is important. This was a convenient, affordable solution that ticked all our boxes.

It was a bit daunting arriving on foot at night and encountering a long, dark, uneven driveway, and I worried that one of us would trip. The torches on our phones barely made a dent. Motion activated lights are worth considering.

Owner was able to add an early slot for us in for breakfast although we had not booked (note you cannot book through breakfast through booking.com - discovered you have to contact the hotel). Hotel was in a convenient location for our drive south from Orkney isles to Buckinghamshire. Not far away is a retail park with good choice of restaurants and fast charging for our EV.

Venue accessed down a lane that is not obvious from the main road; on Google maps it looks like you are turning at traffic lights and in fact it is a bit before the lights. Lane to the hotel could do with being resurfaced. Site obviously going through some renovation work but that did not impact our stay.

Room was spotless with a big very comfortable bed. Also 2 comfortable chairs and a table with tea and coffee and a kettle. Thermostat on the radiator so the heating easy to control. The bathroom was gleaming. Perfectly cooked to order breakfast in a lovely little dining room. There is also a welcoming looking bar where the host will serve you on request. Very convenient for picking up our son and daughter in law from Edinburgh Airport the next morning. Restaurants and big supermarket nearby so evening meal was no problem. All exceeded our expectations for the location and the price we paid.

The property is hidden away down little drive way. It only has 8 rooms which is great and plenty of car parking spaces for everyone. The room was a lovely big room it had everything in there we needed like a kettle, tea bags, sugar and a little biscof biscuit. The bed was really comfortable so had a great nights sleep. The shower was great, hot too and we had little body wash bottles on the bed with the towels when we entered the room. It’s one guy that’s does everything he is so lovely and helpful and makes a tasty breakfast for you in the morning at what time you would like it between his breakfast hours so I would highly recommended paying for that at check in if not booked at the time of booking. We will definitely be back when we next head up that way. We would highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a lovely stay and helping get a jumper back to us that we left in the room. Really appreciate it.

Really nice hotel very friendly and nice owner who was helpful in showing us to our room and explaining everything about the room and said anything we needed just ask payed for breakfast and was not disappointed really great freshly cooked breakfast with toast also and juices coffee tea and fresh fruit yoghurt and cereals really great place plenty of parking plenty of places to eat near by and really great room all in all a great stay and would definitely stay again thank you for your great hospitality

Room was large and spacious, big comfortable bed, nice large towels, modern bathroom, tea and coffee within room. Quiet area, near local shops and within walking distance to train station. Plenty of parking.

Electric shower which didn’t have much power, a shower took ages. Tv in room too small and too far away from bed. Room window looked straight into car park so couldn’t have the blind up incase we ended up staring at people directly outside. Bathroom sink quite small.
