Spectacular location! Enjoyed using the kayaks and swimming pool. Adult-oriented, which meant the pool area was fairly quiet. (The couple of youngsters around were well-mannered and respected the space.) We had a queen poolside room, which was small but well-appointed with a couple chairs and a small table. The bathroom had an extra large jacuzzi-type tub. Restaurant is surprisingly good.

Not a huge problem, but there is no a/c. The room stayed quite cool, however, as temps dropped from 29°C to 17-20°C at night, and room is supplied with a portable fan. Evening at the restaurant was very, very warm if you sat inside. Just adding a/c to the dining room would be a huge improvement. There is some seating on the deck, but be warned that if mosquitoes see you as a favourite dining source, it gets "skeetery" at night. Plan accordingly! I did not, and am well bitten!

The location was fantastic! Arriving to this beautiful view on the coast, we immediately went for a sea swim from the resorts beach. The pool area and surrounding boardwalk were beautiful. Check-in was efficient. The restaurant had spectacular views, and the staff were attentive. Great wine and delicious local food, the West Coast mussels, and The Pepin chicken were amazing. Absolutely stunning place.

We had the poolside room and felt it was a little tired, needed some updating. I was disappointed to find no glasses, teaspoons, or milk for tea making, no hairdryer, and the TV wasn't working (although quickly fixed). I think that housekeeping just need to refine some of these touches. The room was also very hot with no air con and the window was open all night.

This has to be the epitome of glamming . The boardwalk to the tents was a pleasant walk with a teaser of the views to be had from the deck of the unit. Bed was amazingly comfortable, it was all done a flair and style. After waiting 4 years for the experience, it was more than worth it! Sunsets were amazing from the decks and the boardwalk. I was impressed with the renovations and modernization of the resorts original cabins. Adding two brand new hot tubs was a great idea. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The new owners are truly showing their commitment to the property and their investment. Keep up the dedication and commitment to renewing this amazing property.

I don’t necessarily consider this a negative as i very much enjoyed watching the mama bear and 2 cubs at 3am on the boardwalk rifling through the garbage can. Yes the resort will now be ordering bear proof garbage can for the boardwalk. Morning staff had confirmed the upgrade in our conversation. I only mention this in the did not like section to showcase the staffs attention to the safety of the guests. Thank you evening staff. At 8 pm the staff were walking the boardwalk and successfully scared off the bear family.

We stayed in one of the signature tent houses for our anniversary. We had a great time overall. The tent house was very unique and facing ocean with amazing views and also surrounded by trees. The way to reach it was a very unique and gorgeous wooden path amongst trees and other houses to reach. The tent house had everything we needed exactly like a like a hotel room plus a private jet tub which you could fill with hot water like a hot tub with an amazing view of the ocean. There is also a gas fireplace which makes the inside cozy. The flooring is also stone tiles with some heating. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were also super nice and friendly and we had a great time.

We visited in winter and had a storm and don’t recommend to go to tent houses when there is a lot of rain or storm with strong winds as it was a but cold at night with a lot of noises from the wind going around the tent walls. The hotel gave us another heater and extra blanket though which made it better and warm enough.

I was originally going to be here for four nights but unfortunately the WiFi was too slow for me to work here. The - amazing - everything-else outweighs that though if you’re not working while here :) I stayed in the cabin and loved the details, the fireplace, the view (!!), the shower, the bed.. all of it. I had breakfast here and it was also super great, cooked perfectly and clearly good ingredients. (New ownership from what I was told :)) Everyone who worked here was kind and accommodating and they allowed me to cancel after the first night since I couldn’t stay because of the internet. That was very much appreciated! Will be back on a long weekend sans work to stay … and kayak when the weather allows it ✨

Wi-Fi was too slow for work so had to relocate

This was a hidden gem. The breathtaking beauty from every step of the way - into our tent house and out onto the balcony. Stunning. Different from a bustling resort. So peaceful yet always something to watch - the view, the wildlife, the sounds of the weather. The cosy fireplace and all those amazing gongs! The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The food delicious. I lost an earring, so now I simply must return ;)

Nothing. It could only have been better had we not had to leave. Even free vehicle charging.

Spectacular location with lovely boardwalk winding around the headland, many places to sit and take the sun, ample parking, good restaurant and friendly staff, lovely room in the main building

I didn’t appreciate my credit card being charged $200 deposit for just a one night stay - can understand for cabins and fancy tents. And as we left early I didn’t know if it had been refunded when I left. Also outside staircase up to the second floor was tricky with luggage (well for those of us getting on a bit)

The staff was very accommodating in providing us with a room on the bottom level so that we had minimum stairs to negotiate. This meant we were close to the action so we could hear other guests outside. However this was not a problem for us. The beds and room were comfortable, and parking very convenient.

I was a little apprehensive of several sketchy reviews, esp. of the restaurant. There really aren't other eating options nearby. We ate both dinner and breakfast there and the food was excellent. I can see why some might critique the wait staff, but my impression was that they were young and inexperienced and probably could use some training, but they were polite.

The location of Rockwater is absolutely stunning. We loved the property and all that it had to offer. The female server working at the restaurant Feb 17 evening was so sweet, kind, and personable. 10/10 service from her. She made our stay that much better!

Our room wasn’t very clean - there was a dirty coffee cup and banana peel on the patio outside and then inside there was an entire rotten banana on the floor which had turned liquidy and was pooled under the desk area.

There wasn’t anything that I did not like about the property, it was beautiful, great service, super comfy and relaxing! I waited a long time to come here, and this birthday it finally worked out… all I wanted was peace, comfort, wilderness and something to soak in, and this place had it all… can’t wait to come back again!! ❤️

Nothing… my only wish was knowing which tent to pick that was lower to the water so I can jacuzzi with the side of the tent open.
