We loved the location, just a few mins from Parksville, restaurants, and big park for kids. Beautiful spot - right on the the water. We loved that there was an outdoor kids pool and hot tub. The Queen Suite was large and had enough space for us. Great to have a little kitchenette and laundry in our room and our own room, skylights, fireplace, verandah and dishwasher. An excellent bar & grill (with incredible view) is located on-site as well as gym, sauna and spa. Reception staff were AMAZING in rearranging things for us so that we could stay in our room for an extra night.

For the cons: the bed could have been less squeaky, every time we turned over, it made noise - not ideal for a light sleeper unfortunately. The room is slightly outdated with wallpaper everywhere, old photos, blinds (but it’s great they are blackout), and an oversized dining table (as 6 people could never comfortably be in this space). Other con is that that the room is not serviced daily. For over $400/pn we were expecting refreshed coffee/towels without needing to request - which when I asked 2 housekeepers and front of house there were no extra coffee pods or face cloths available.

Location is fantastic! Facilities offered are fantastic as well, lots for individuals or families to do. It actually has a resort feel to it. Grounds are well kept and we like the suites. It is great that you accomodate pets.

Insulation between rooms are a little thin. The bypass door allows everything to be heard as if the people are in the same room as you. I think it would be great if there were more everyday items supplied in kitchen suites such as a vacuum or broom, basic spices like salt and pepper....

The location was central, we were able to travel to Nanaimo, and Courtenay easily and in a timely manner but also able to enjoy Parksville too. The bed was comfortable and the room came with a double pull out couch that my linebacker son said was comfortable.

The exterior could be cleaner, there were huge spider webs everywhere. The tub was also slippery but we could not find a non slip tub mat or stickers. The tub was deep and had jets though in both rooms we had.

This resort exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful and had a private little patio looking into the forest. We had our dog with us and it was very dog friendly. The beach was just behind the resort and was absolutely stunning.. there is a little walkway that goes along the water all the way around the shoreline. We didnt have a chance to check out the hot tub complex but walked by and it looked amazing. We will definitely stay again just to try that out. It was also great to have a nice restaurant in the resort so we didnt have to leave our dog alone for too long. Definitely recommend.. we will be back.

The RM was okay for the 2 of us, considering that our original RM had a funky smell, and we asked to be moved, for which they graciously did.

The beds were very uncomfortable, and we didn't get a kitchenette that was shown when we booked the vacation. We arrived on Family Day. I won't book again as the quiet vacation was full of screaming children (my bad). The pool was dirty, dirt, and hair all over. The hottub was dirty on the bottom. You can actually see the dirt build up on the floor of the hottub.Couldn't enjoy.

Everything, except bikes without brakes and no one tells you about it until you take it :D

Bikes!!! You have to warn people that they don’t have brakes and they just leisure bikes on a free of an obstacle road. There is no bike trail but they let you rent the bikes without brakes. My 13 years old boy, trying to look brave (well, they let us ride them, so people must have been on them) fell off the bike luckily missed all the rocks flying off the small cliff. He was pushing pedals back with all his might, but it was down hill and steep turn. Honestly, I don’t know how no one still didn’t break anything with these bikes and personal not even telling anyone how different the bikes are from the ones you got used to. Why they promote them?!!! If you don’t taught the bikes, then it was very good.

The location is excellent. The grounds of the resort are beautiful. The sunsets, wow! The path along the water is nice, along with the table and chairs viewing area. The outdoor BBQ dining area by the water - so nice. Maybe consider having a reservation system to use the BBQ and tables. Add a couple of BBQs in the viewing area; also a reservation system. It was simply was SO nice to BBQ and dine outside, by the water as the sun set. The pet friendly-ness of the whole resort was wonderful (e.g. leashed at the hot tub, on the patio of the pub etc.) While there, it was warm but the breeze from the water and the black-out curtains kept the room comfortable. We did use the fans a few times so please keep the fans. The two sliding doors to the balcony and opening the front door, allowed for a breeze. The balcony with table and chairs, was so nice to have; we used the balcony a lot. Having a washer and dryer was also very handy. We honestly, did not want to leave. Keep up the great work. Pacific Shores Resort is a destination spot :)

A "it would be nice" comment is, have an outside lounge area with lounge chairs by the pool, with doors that open to that area. That way, on warm/hot days, guests can sit in the sun and easily dip into the pool, then back to the sun. To be honest, the sofa bed is not very comfortable. It may be time for new mattresses.

Liked the location. It was so easy to walk to the water and we got a lovely sunset. The The room was spacious and clean, with towels, soap and hair products too. Nice little balcony. Big enough for two people and a dog. I Love that it is pet-friendly. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub where great.

The shower didn't work properly, kept leaking out of the bath tap when I was trying to shower. However, was still enough pressure to have a decent shower.

Great location. Great views (if there wasn't the fog, but you can't help it!). Great food - especially if you like fish.

Honestly, difficult to tell. What I somewhat was missing (but new) was the absence of a pool. The hot tub was a satisfactory "substitute" but it was unfortunate that it only opened at 10 am. One would expect it to be open early in the morning, especially in the absence of a pool.

The location is lovely. The pool was great and we were really appreciative of the barbeques available for use. There was lots of easy and close parking.

The bed was really not comfortable, with a noisy head board. Also, we were between two units that each had dogs so whenever we opened our door or walked down the hallway, one or both would start barking. Very unexpected. One suggestion, perhaps a few cleaning supplies in the unit...with young kids some cleaning is often needed..perhaps a mop?
