Loved the location - perfect! Loved the size of the room, size of the TV (large), had a balcony - small, but adequate, table & comfortable chairs at a picture window towards the great view. Loved that there were TWO luggage racks! Loved that a bald eagle frequently sat atop a tree on backside of hotel. Great restaurant right across the street!

The bathroom had a strange smell - can't pinpoint it, but not a typical smell for a bathroom. Didn't care for the espresso coffee that was provided, but appreciated the instant hot water, so could make instant coffee instead.

the deer visiting the back yard was a nice surprise. The View during sunrise and the tide changing vista was marvelous. Cruise ships in the distance. Pub and restaurant across the street was convenient. Hwy 19a is NOT a busy thorough fair, and 95% of traffic noise was eliminated once windows were closed. Parking my 20ft truck was easy. Luggage cart was helpful.

no matter where i stay, i am still not use to price increases from the old days when i travelled 20-50 years ago. Everything is more expenses, that's just the way it is ( i understand )

Beach views, sound of waves crashing gently onto the shore. 3rd floor room had balcony & kitchenette facilities. Clean bathroom with good shower pressure. Fantastic, friendly property manager. Good wifi. Wildlife viewing (bald eagles, deer, seals, waterfowl). Excellent restaurants nearby. Easy access to beach walks. Short drive into village. Even saw an entire rainbow! This was our second stay here.

We had a lot of rain, but that’s not the property’s fault, it is November in B.C., so we were just glad it wasn’t snowing! We still spent a lot of time walking by the sea and exploring the village.

The property is located right on the coastal highway and gives exceptional views onto the beach and ocean. Shady's bar and grill is opposite the venue and is a great place for dinner. The hotel has parking at the front of the property with some under cover along with a charging station bay if required. There is a very quiet and efficient elevator to the upper levels.

If you don't pull the blinds down on your ocean facing windows, any guests walking to the elevator or their rooms have a great view into yours.

The property had a charming appearance and was well maintained. There was enough parking even when fully booked. I personally loved all the flower baskets and the nice landscaping at the front. The property provided all the necessities like washing machine, dryer, hairdryer etc. All rooms had ocean view and if lucky you could spot seals in the water. I loved the view and our room had two chairs and a bay window which gave you the perfect viewing cold days.

The Island Highway was running between the property and the beach and it could become very noisy during the day. The area seemed to be frequently visited by motor bike riders and this contributed mostly to the noise level. The room was very small and so was the balcony. I personally found it difficult to be confined to such a small space even if it was just in the evening. I had booked a room with a kitchenette but unfortunately there was no countertop to actually even prepare a proper breakfast. I can’t really comment on the staff, since there was only minimal interaction but if you needed something like toilet paper etc. everyone we encountered was friendly.

This is a lovely quiet, quaint and convenient beachside inn with a lovely outlook over the water. The hosts / staff were so lovely and helpful & even waited for us when our journey took longer. Beds were so comfy. They even told us where to see deer nearby. We would come back in a heartbeat! Great place to eat across the road. Great swimming at the beach. Conveniently located near Goats on the Roof, Englishman River Falls & Cathedral Grove.

We liked everything.

Location was perfect for exploring the area, went to Cathedral grove, parksville, rathtrevor park, little qualicum falls and Englishman river falls, Coombs market. The kitchenette was well equipped and perfect for making simple meals. Coffee maker is a nice touch. Very clean, comfortable and friendly/helpful staff. Nice view, walking distance to a good restaurant, Easy check-in and good communication with staff.

The location. Access to the beach. Good restaurant across the road for our first dinner. We walked along the boardwalk into town for breakfast the next morning. We drive an electric car so it was great being able to charge our vehicle on site using their adapter

Suggest the elevator be replaced with a new one, old rusted door, smelled and get rid of the throw rug The bed frame creaked every time time we moved in bed.

The property has a gorgeous ocean view, it is extremely clean and the staff were very welcoming. Beautiful location and rooms. It is evident that care is taken in looking after this property. I loved the back area with the swing and gazebo. The window table and chairs as well as the outdoor chairs by each room were a great feature. A wonderful place to relax and watch the sea lions and sea otters play in the water. Beautiful view of the sunrise as well.

We would have preferred a king bed but maybe there were none available.

The staff is very welcoming and kind!!! The room was really clean and comfortable, it was cold enough as soon as we got there, which appreciate coming from a 30 temperature. The jacuzzi was really clean and in perfect condition the views are amazing, I really like the body wash and shampoo options they had (good for sensitive skin) The whole place is beautiful, I liked the green space they have with the gazebo and some games :)

The bathroom sink was leaking a tiny bit, nothing that ruined our stay at all.
