The rooms were a good size and we appreciated having more options for if we needed tidying/restocking in our room. We opted for them to not come in during our 3 night stay, so I wasn’t so concerned about keeping the room in order. We stayed with our two daughters (6years & 2years) both of whom loved the pool. It’s a bit outdated, but worked to cool off, or jump in the hot tub after a day of adventuring.

I would have appreciated a small table to sit and eat a quick bite at in our room. There is no place to sit and eat aside from the beds. That is my only suggestion!

The breakfast was really good, except if you had dietary restrictions you were limited. Pool was great, just very humid inside, which is to be understood but it was great that the sliding doors could be open and one could sit on the patio in the cool but still be able to watch kids in the pool. The location is very central, so great everything is just a few minutes away and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

My personal issue, because I have dietary restrictions breakfast was limited for me. I understand though you cannot accommodate everyone.

The housekeeping staff were exceptional!! The hotel is conveniently close to almost everything in Parksville!!

The noise at night!! The rooms are not soundproof at all, for bumps and thumps from nearby rooms! Although we had not requested an adjoining room, ours was, and you could see right through the space between the doorframe and the door into the next room! So, no doubt that worked both ways and left us with an uncomfortable feeling.

While the hotel is short staffed, the staff that is there, is exceptional. This was a last minute booking, as our booking for another place fell through. We had booked to stay at this hotel for 4 days in Aug 2024. We arrived around 5pm and the front desk person was very friendly. You can tell they are in the process of updating the hotel. You can smell fresh paint & carpeting in the halls. The room we were given was recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately after an hour being in the room, the smell of fresh renos resulted in an asthma attack. The room had a window that opened (though no screen). Since it was late, we decided to make due. The staff was very understanding of the situation and we only stayed one night. We didn't stay for the breakfast.

With the new renos, the smell resulted in multiple asthma attacks. We didn't use the pool, but did check it out. The smell of chlorine was very strong. The laundry room is very small and felt dirty. This is probably on the list to being updaed

location was the plus...close the sandcastle festival we where mainly there...walking distance to Mcdo where my kids favorite place to eat

the only thing that made the stay a little bit off was the day of check out (7.21.2024) I went to the fron desk for help...I waited atleast 5 mins. before she appeared. And when she was there, she was on the on. ask me to what I wanted and then I told her I needed ice for my cooler...and then she directed me the ice machine... but I said I have a big cooler to fill up and the lady yesturday told me they have a big machine for the coolers. and then she ask me to wait...but I am waiting more than 10 mins. and she was still on the phone... so I ended up getting ice from the ice machine ob the first floor

Loved the seasonal decorating, large bed, BIG breakfast room and buffet,I walked down for coffee and milk and took that up to my room. Liked the upper floor sitting area on the stairs landing, large tv coffee maker and fridge, bathroom soaps and creams, the room cleaning paper requests was a good idea. Also liked the parking lot and covered entry

Wish the pool was deeper and a larger pool bathroom or changing room. Flip flops as an amenity would be a good idea-just thin ones would be fine.

They have spruced it up even the outside!!

They made me go to a cash machine to get cash because their machine would not accept my amount ( 2 nights ) w/o a pin & I did not know it. I made sure I corrected this & got a pin the day, But this can be corrected on their end as the next two nights at a different hotel did not need a pin!!! Also I disagree with hotels collecting deposits!! Both places I stayed at one took it & the next two nights did not, very inconvenient!

I’ve stayed here before and was very impressed with the terrific renovations. My room was very spacious, amazing king size bed, large bathroom, with much appreciated coffee machine and bathroom toiletries. The very comfortable and clean breakfast room with accommodating open times offered a fresh and tasty continental self serve breakfast.

Couldn’t get the tv remote to work…gave up and went to bed. Glad I did, best night’s sleep in ages!

The hotel was easy to find in a great location. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The pool was an excellent bonus. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with a fridge and its own microwave. Great value, we will certainly return

The hotel had recently changed its name from a Travelodge to Feng. This caused problems using Google maps as we were concerned when it said it was permanently closed?

The room was a good size and was very clean. Perhaps the carpeting seemed a little dated but otherwise the room was great. Good black out curtains. The air conditioner was also a little loud at times but worked well otherwise. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including at breakfast, which was pretty good. The place is in a good location as well.
