The room was clean and everything felt new, although you could tell the building was an older motel. The refurbishment is great. On looking at the map, I thought the drive from off the Sunshine Coast highway would be longer but within a minute, VOILA! There it was. The mirror in the bathroom was cool with buttons to control the backlighting. Our view of Porpoise Bay was magical with the distant sounds of wildlife. In the morning it was all foggy and my girlfriend was able to take a mystical photo with the sun slowly oozing out of the dark shadows.

Although I had ordered a room with a King-sized bed, we got one with 2 Queens. That actually worked out well for my girlfriend as I have a CPAP machine and she has trouble sleeping.

I got a call two days before our stay, and they upgraded us to their sister hotel, The Oceanside, across from Davis Bay. Our room was a double king suite (King bedroom and King in the main room). It had a full kitchen (fridge, tw-burner stove, Micro, no dishwasher though) with dinnerware, cookware, flatware, utencils, and cups for 4, and an awesome deck that looked over the bay. It also had an electronic blackout shade for the slider which was great to keep the room cool during the late afternoon sun. Our room looked like it had just been remodeled too. The bathroom was spa-like (shower only as an FYI).

I like how the place has been renovated. I appreciate the staff's exemplary customer service. I like the scenic view by the room's window. I like the provided shampoo, condition, show gel, hand soap, & lotion in the washroom. I like how the washroom the temperature regulator. I like how spot clean everything is. I like the comfortable bed. I like the lighting of the room.

I don't like how the glass windows are not completely clear (had paint stains in them). I don't like how the door did not have a "security peep hole". I don't like how the faucet in the bathroom sink would splash everytime it was opened and how the extra water would wet the floor. I didn't like how fluffy the pillows are. I didn't like how small the room was.

They were able accommodate early check in for us which we greatly appreciated. They were very kind and friendly when we were on site and cleaning was fantastic.

Before we got there we called a couple times with questions, and each time the staff member would be unable to find our booking, which made us a little stressed. They would eventually find it but it would take about 5 mins of them insisting we didn’t have a booking. Anyway, all was well after they were able to find it but it added a bit of needless anxiety.

-Helpful staff Nisha and Hector who went the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay -Let us leave our bags in a safe place (as we came early for check in) -Very clean -Beautiful views of the water (Porpoise Bay) -Walkable to main part of town, right next to a cool pub and close to a delicious BBQ restaurant (Lucky's Smokehouse)

-General area felt a little bit rougher than I expected but not unsafe

Nice Ocean View, comfortable beds, bathroom & shower, microwave, bar fridge, nice bedding & linens, comfortable pillows. Staff was very friendly and check-in & check-out was easy. Parking was great. Very convenient location, the Lighthouse Pub & Restaurant was right next door for lunch & dinner. Note: No elevators, so if you can't do stairs, stay on the main floor, if you can the 2nd floor would be great as the view would be even better.

Bathroom - shower & tub - would have liked a grab bar in the shower, as bathtub was slippery when showering. - Inner plastic liner on shower curtain needs replacing as it is very hard and stiff. Bedroom - Would have liked venetian blinds that could be slightly open to let some light in, rather than the blind (which had to either be up, or down). On our next visit we would stay on the 2nd floor (stairs only/no elevator)

To our surprise the hotel was very comfortable and the staffs I’ve encountered during my 3 days stay have been all friend and easy to talk to.

Just two very small things. 1) Every time I open the door the “Do Not Disturb” sign keep falling to the ground. Annoying I have to keep picking it up. 2) the bathtub drain was a little slow so when shower the water is not being drained fast enough resulting in a small pool of water where I stand

Great location, clean except partially plugged sink, great view, staff was very friendly,

The odoor from the plug sink was permeating everything. They need to clean that P- trap. We kept fen inside the bathroom running all day, but had to turn it off during the night because of the noise, and it was not pleasant in the morning, the stink was overwhelming, and you could smell it on the room too

The washroom

We paid for an ocean view room but what we got was a room with some water-floating structures blocking the scarce ocean view. I didn't like the fact that when I arrived at the reception they had changed my room number and gave me the last available room because they thought I was not gonna make it to the hotel that night. Poor assumption! Once you have a reservation your room should be kept for you not given to somebody else who arrives at the facility before you. That is the reason why customers make a reservation ahead of time in the first place. Management needs to pay attention to small details like this because they show a lack of customer service skills on the staff.

Location, price, view, TV selection, amenities- ie coffee maker worked perfectly, fridge and microwave were both used by us. The staff were so pleasant, helpful and professional and a small but important thing - the room key cards worked perfectly.

We are seniors so a second chair in the room would have been nice. King size beds were not available which was too bad as there would have been a bit more unencumbered space available. A quick “how to” note re accessing the TV -- 2 remotes were confusing (perhaps it was just a “senior” thing).
