The greatest thing about this stay was the super friendly and helpful staff! They helped us arrange a tour on the lake, find nice restaurants and arranged transport to and from the hotel. Breakfast was really good as well: you can order any kind of eggs at your table, which is beautifully set and has a great view over the lake. The pool was nice and private and the rooms were decorated beautifully and had a really authentic / old school vibe with different colors for each rooms. All in all a great stay!

Nothing really. One thing to recommend (nothing to do with the hotel): book a car to drive around the lake and towns, as there are not many taxi's and they are relatively pricy.

The room had a stunning view of the lake and was spacious and well-furnished. It also had a balcony overlooking the lake and beautiful manicured grounds. The bathroom was luxurious, with fluffy towels, a Frette robe, and lovely soap and lotion. The balcony had a small table and chairs for guests to enjoy the view. The breakfast was a traditional Italian meal, served formally, and any special requests were accommodated. The restaurant for dinner was exceptional and intimate, with a gourmet dining experience, a lovely wine list a knowledgeable Sommelier, and expertly served. This family-run hotel is well-managed, with friendly and accommodating staff, and the Family is charming. The location is outstanding. It was the perfect way to end our vacation.

Unforgettable! Having stayed in numerous hotels around the world, I can confidently say that I have never come across such an extraordinary level of service: 1. Geographically, it is situated in a breathtakingly green and beautiful area right next to a large lake (lake major). This location makes it an undeniable oasis of relaxation, and it also offers easy access to the islands in the lake. 2. The hotel itself boasts impeccably maintained green spaces that are truly exemplary. Every photo I took could easily be framed and displayed on a wall. My room was exceptionally beautiful, and when I opened the window, I was greeted with a scene that can only be described as a living and dynamic masterpiece of beauty. 3. While the hotel may not be a modern building, its Italian identity adds a delightful charm to the overall experience. I was glad that it wasn't modern because it allowed me to feel the authenticity of an Italian family-run business. 4. The hotel manager, fluent in English and French languages, (I don't know whether he likes to mention his name here or not) can only be described as an angel. I have never encountered such exceptional service in any of my previous trips. Not only did the staff adhere to all hotel etiquette, but the hotel manager also provided unwavering support in every situation that arose, treating me like a close friend. They went above and beyond, from giving a ride and providing me with printed maps for train routes to lending me a jacket on a cold day. Such unique and extraordinary hospitality is something I had never witnessed or heard of before.

Beautiful grounds, fantastic staff, and 5 star food worthy of any top class restaurant. Special mention to Andrea, he was very friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to return and use all the extra facilities we didn't have time to use on our short visit (pool, steam room etc). The room was in keeping with the rustic nature of the grounds and hotel and even though we didn't request a lake view we enjoyed lovely scenery overlooking the lake.

We booked a one night stay and wished we would have stayed longer.

Such a perfect hotel. Location, pool, room, staff, restaurant all made for a lovely few days. Very large rooms with great views. The restaurant was a draw for people from all around it seems and rightly so. Great to sit out on the veranda and enjoy great service food and views. Felt very special.

Bed not the comfiest.

Amazing staff, especially the man who served breakfast and checked us in and out of our room. A true gentleman with a passion for hospitality. The rooms were large and well put together, we even had a little lake view even though we hadn't booked such a room. The pool was clean with an amazing view over the lake. Lovely restaurant, however, at least for us, not for every night (quite expensive).

Upon arrival, the room smelled like cigarette smoke (probably from the previous occupants). It went away quickly but was quite disappointing at first. The matres was very firm.

Amazing location with views over the lake, our own relaxing chairs outside. The infinity pool (unheated) with sauna and steamroom were great. The food was amazing. A very calm, quiet, relaxing place (note we were outside of high season).

The room decor wasn't our style.

The hotel setting and grounds; the building and terrace where dinner and breakfast were served under the wisteria is exquisite as are the gardens all tended by the mother of the current owner manager ( family run hotel/restaurant for150 years ! And it shows in all the kindness of the staff who each played their part perfectly in the intricate running of both restaurant and hotel. The pool needs also be mentioned as a place of gentle tranquility overlooking the lake through palm trees and olive trees and beautiful borders of magnolias and jasmine arched paths to the hotel.NB the food was excellent from the assortment of pastries all home made to the evening meals with gratuitous generosity of service and an elegance of menus that is hard to find

We could not find fault in anything ! We arrived by the local ferry (which stopped service to Ranco the following day due to the low water level of lake Maggiore ) but on our departure took a 12 min taxi to the next town to take a local train to Milano from there, all arranged by the kind receptionist !

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Gorgeous views, a wonderful spacious room, INCREDIBLE restaurant and a staff that couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Really couldn't recommend this place more

Andrea was exceptionally helpful and professional. The restaurant was lovely.

Some of the restaurant staff (not the owner's daughter) were pompous and unfriendly. There were no prices or details of wine by the glass on the wine menu.
