the resort is beautiful, located on the beach, 2 pools, private sun loungers and not overcrowded. would definitely come back!

the rooms are way too dark, there was barely any light inside. the bathroom was also often smelly, and the shower floor was moldy. water pressure is poor, but maybe thats not something the hotel can control. the food was pretty good but the portions are very small and the prices are very european (10-20$ per a meal) which is too much for what you get. also, for each meal we needed to wait at least 30mins, sometimes over 50mins, which isn't a problem itself, but maybe there should be a better system of ordering food in advance (especially breakfast which most of the guests need, and we would always lose probably more than an hour just sitting there waiting for our food).

We absolutely loved the windsurfing beach - it is always windy here and it is a pleasure to come out on the beach and cool down from the breeze. You can swim in the ocean as the water is clean only take into consideration that if you want peace and tranquility you will have to buy something from the local or Masai peddlers. Don't worry they are friendly. Look at it as a sort of beach tax - a 10$ Zanzibar shirt or souvenir will not hurt you, but will put food on the table for locals. If saltwater and negotiations are not your cup of tea there are 2 lovely swimming pools, and a truly magical garden with huge, old trees full of fruits and canary birds. Play area for toddlers and a generally very safe infrastructure for children. Rooms had good AC, well-maintained and developed bathrooms, mini fridge, kettle, and deposit box. All at high standards. Hakuna Matata all day - every day.

The only shortfall of perfection here was the kitchen. The Menu is extensive but the kitchen small and the wait time is long. But that is not the main issue as people are having Hakuna Matata time and are not in a hurry. The issue is the inconsistency of the food served - overcooked veggies, salty sauces, and no presentation on the plate. Kind of your typical Gordon Ramsay Kitchen nightmares episode. So don't expect fine dining or culinary experience - embrace the facilities and absolute relaxation. Go for pizzas from the wooden oven and hit the bar for fresh coconuts and cocktails instead.

All staff is really friendly and helpful, they are amazing! Food served in their restaurant I totally recommend! Location and all facility is wonderful we really enjoyed every moment there Resort manager helped us to organize some amazing trips

I don't like the owner of this resort. I've booked 2 rooms and by mistake the booking was made for single rooms when in fact we were 4 persons so we had to pay some extra money - no problem until here of course I have to pay for double room My problem is the owner of this resort insisted with Booking assistance to charge us 20$/day/person which meant 360 $ in total - this 20$/day is in fact a tax for extra bed in the room which was not the case - he also told me this is a tax for last minute change. Also not the case as I tried in 28.09.2023 to make a reservation for 30.09.2023 and the difference between a single and double room is 6$/day - I have screenshots for this

Extremely nice place, very cosy, it’s is a nice complex with 2 pools (in front and the back), great a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, great view on the beach from the sunbeds, clean, staff is really polite and helpful. WiFi was working great, we have no complaints. Good variety of cocktails and very good prices - cocktails around 8 dollars, gin tonic 6 dollars, bottle of prosecco 25 dollars. Easy communication with the owners and staff before our arrival, they are very responsive. Also - we came there to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and I had a special request that the rooms awaits decorated- they took care of it and it was amazing! I am so glad they made it happen and would recommend it to everyone who wants to celebrate special moments there!

Breakfast offer is very limited, not much to choose from and that could be improved.

I think it is one of the most welcoming locations in Zanzibar and I spent some time on this island in different hotels around Zanzibar. First of all, the quality-price ratio is very good. At Mambo you have almost everything you need for a quiet vacation: good food, nice staff, cleanliness, beach, pool, nature.... I highly recommend Mambo Ocean Resort.

The service here was amazing, very attentive staff. Very big food and drinks menu which we never got bored of. Little touches like providing mosquito repellent and spraying rooms at night really made the trip even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Everything there is absolutely wonderful, it's like in a beautiful story, it's something from a fairy tale. Surely in this resort you can only go and relax and feel good. The staff exuded so much good energy that it was impossible not to feel comfortable around them. The food is one of the strong points of the resort, we ate the best seafood and the most delicious fruits and desserts. The beach area where the sunbeds are located is always clean and very well maintained. Being an area with low tide and high tide, the water recedes quite a bit in the morning, however, the resort has 2 pools where you can cool off. Both pools are cleaned every evening and every morning. If I could, I would like to live here every day.

It is a small piece of paradise located right on the beach, a very wide one with very fine sand. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms are very clean, spacious, equipped with everything you need, including a safe box and a hairdryer. The staff is extremely kind and the food is delicious and I tried a lot of dishes but especially the seafood. Congratulations to chef and his team!!!

The hotel has a pool at the back where are the family rooms but now a new one is being built at the front, very close to the beach...I would have been happy to have been ready and enjoy a gorgeous view of the ocean in the new pool but that will be fixed soon so I think I'll be back

They are 3 accommodation options and they are for any budget. You can choose between the budget room (slightly smaller), triple (fairly large rooms) and you also have the deluxe option. The cleaning in the rooms is very good, every day someone will come to clean you. In some of them you have access to the ocean almost directly from the room :) The restaurant is a very good one: pasta, pizza in a special oven, various types of fresh tuna fish, seafood, all the food is excellent. The staff consists of simple people who work with love and do not always greet you with a smile

I am so glad i made the correct choice by staying at Mambo Resort. The place is amazing, the beach is so clean and beautiful, the view is magical as you can see pretty sunset/sunrise. The rooms are clean and as described in the website pictures. Every single staff member from the housekeeping to the manager and in between are AMAZING and super helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient as its in the middle if you want to head north, south or west. The resort (like other resorts in the area does not have activities around so you always need a car or a driver. But you can wonderful meals at the resort as the food is delicious and the place is nice to dine in. If you face a power outage don't worry it's only for few seconds and electricity is back at once.

Just to set your expectations that the wifi is not super speedy but not bad at all and was not an issue at all.
