I'm a local and my husband and I wanted a last minute getaway for our anniversary, away from roommates. We didn't have the funds to go out of town and everything in town was over $300 for one night. Luckily this place had available rooms at a decent price and it was honestly perfect. The rooms have all been updated and they are very nice inside, the wifi worked very well, and it's a good location to go right down the street and enjoy a cocktail and some food at the Dogwood lot. The staff was very friendly, it was comfortable and quiet, and we enjoyed our stay.

We didnt mind that there was no pool/hot tub or continental breakfast, because we never use those anyway. But good for other people to know that those aren't available here

The rooms are hit or miss sometimes you get a really good room and then there's some rooms that just feel dark and a little dirty it's hard to get a downstairs room and there's no elevator so when it's snowing and cold you have to drag all your stuff upstairs sometimes making several trips they have alot of down stairs rooms they give them to mostly younger people I stay here often I think I've only had a downstairs room twice even when I send a message ahead of time However its very reasonably priced for a quick stay

Lovely motel, it exceeded my expectations much nicer than most motels! Very clean and comfortable. We had slight issue with shower in our room but they just moved us to a new room zero issues very accommodating. Location is fine only a 15 min walk to beautiful bend main street with shops bars restaurants etc. Would definitely stay again.

Bring ear plugs or maybe motel should have some for guests in the room as it can be noisy with the road but really not a big issue overall.

The front desk asked if I wanted to be on the top or bottom floor without me having to ask, or just picking for me without a conversation like a lot of places do. It was convenient to get to retail stores as needed (pretty much anything you memes is only 10 mins away), it is directly across the street from a Black Bear Diner, and just around the corner is the last Blockbuster Video ever! It was surprisingly modernized which I never expect from places at this price range. Even though it was on a busy corner I didn’t even notice traffic noises and I’m usually very sensitive to that. My favourite thing ever was that the hot water in the shower lasted FOREVER. It was dreamy.

Being on a busy corner made it a bit difficult to get out if you need to go anywhere during your stay. Not impossible but definitely busy. The bathroom smelled weird but it wasn’t overwhelming, just noticeable. The TV was pretty static-y on most channels but that could have just been an electronic issue in my specific room.

Location is an excellent spot, not far away from downtown or the park. Had an excellent experience and look forward to staying again soon 😀

Should've booked an extra day but it's all good, can't think of anything I disliked about my stay, the bed was absolutely wonderful along with the shower and having laundry on site is a sweet bonus. Overall it gets an all in rating of 5 stars in my playbook

The rooms are newly renovated and very tastefully done. Much thought has been given to the amenities. The bed was comfortable and everything provided worked - do look at the setting on the refrigerator (it froze my fridge items on the bottom. They probably turn it up to have it cold for guest's arrival - that's how thoughtful the stay felt). It's on the corner of some main thoroughfares, so their is some street noise, but not bad.

The location is central and next to a Black Bear cafe for food. The bed was comfortable and pretty nice overall for a budget motel.

The shower was horrible. The showerhead is low, so if you're tall you will have to lean down to wash your hair. But the worst thing was it fluctuated from scalding hot to freezing cold randomly! They definitely need to fix that as it really made taking a shower a scary experience! Will I get scalding hot water or get freezed out?!

The room was very clean and well remodeled. The bed was comfortable. There was a coffee maker and both a desk chair and a more comfortable living room style chair. Space was a bit cramped but was functional. Bathroom was modern and functional.

The creamer for coffee was vanilla flavored instead of normal half and half, and the property's ice maker was out of order. Minor issues.

Our room at The Dunes was clean, updated and pleasant, and the location is very convenient. Bed was fairly comfortable, and temperature control worked well. No complaints at all.

Keep in mind that the motel is located along a busy avenue/highway, so the road noise is unavoidable. The motel's rate seemed high for the level of the place, but I understand they are in line with their market. Bend is a great place but too expensive to visit as much as we'd like.

The property from the outside looks like a previously run down “no tell-motel” that had a family intervention. It’s got a fresh coat of paint and some rich colors in their signage… a desert oasis in the distance, or a mirage? Once you are in your room, you realize the intervention was a success because I felt like I was in Palm Springs, or even Vegas. A lot of fine details that you might actually miss if you weren’t paying attention. The one KEY COMPONENT for me, was the ability to sign into my streaming services or cast my phone at no additional charge. I feel like this should be something every spot should have along with free Wi-Fi. I can’t think of ever getting a better cost to value deal on a room, ever. Bend is not a cheap place to visit. The end.

Mostly I didn’t like the very aggressive management, which I assume are family and also the owners, but the first contact I had with them was a text through the booking’s site informing me that I must have X,y,and Z ready upon check in , and a pretty exhaustive list of common things that j don’t feel needed to be aimed blindly at a client they haven’t yet seen nor spoken to. I get it… the bad apples that ruined the bushel. But, save the talk for when it’s deemed necessary.
