Niblick is everything you could reasonably expect from a B&B of this type. A quiet area, close to the sea, safe parking, and a lovely garden and patio, where we were able to enjoy a picnic supper without having to go back into town. Our room was not exactly huge, but was clean, comfortable and well appointed with a nice en-suite. Breakfast was more continental than full-Irish fry-up, and all the better for it. It was generous and delicious. The owner is friendly and helpful. When back in Bantry we'll definitely be checking Niblick for availability.

Eileen is the most gracious and welcoming host anyone could ask for. Her house is immaculate, her garden is picturesque, and her homemade breakfasts are superlative...but the best part of our stay was Eileen herself. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home. As soon as we walked through the door, whatever the hour, she would offer us refreshments: tea was always served in the sitting room, on a properly laid table, complete with cakes and fresh flowers from her garden. Everything people say about the breakfasts is true- Eileen bakes her own brown bread, serves delicious local produce (some of the best yoghurt and honey we have ever tasted).. and she went the extra mile for my friend, who is coeliac. She advised us about the area, warned us not to hike Sheep's Head when the weather was inclement, and was simply lovely to engage with. We tend not to return to the same place, as there are always new places to explore, but my friend and I have agreed that we want to return to Niblick in spring 2026.

The hostess was wonderful, very nice and attentionate : she made sure we had everything we needed every time we came back to the house and she translated into French the breakfast menu. Speaking of which : the breakfast was absolutely delicious, with summer berries, pancakes, cakes, homemade yogurts, salmon, scrambled / poached eggs... truly amazing ! The room was very nice and clean, and the beds comfortable. The house is very conveniently located to explore Beara. It's also a 3 minute walk to a lovely small beach. We had a great stay and definitely recommend this place !

We spent 2 nights there and wish we could have stayed longer !

Eileen was a wonderful and helpful host who was a pleasure to talk with. Her home and garden are gorgeous, private and quiet. The rental portion has several very lovely bedrooms with particularly comfortable beds, modern en-suite bathrooms, and a large relaxing lounge/breakfast room. And her very generous homemade to order breakfast was comparable to that found in any gourmet restaurant. We would for sure stay again and would recommend this to all.

Loved everything!

Breakfast was fresh, delicious, varied, healthy and plentiful. Beautiful location, quiet and private, with outdoor and indoor places to sit and relax. We loved watching birds and views of beautiful flowers and plants outside while we enjoyed breakfast. Lovely helpful hostess!

We loved everything about our stay, beginning with the gorgeous and peaceful location of the B&B, its lovely garden, very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms, and ending with an amazing and hugely satisfying breakfast. The host treated us as if we were part of the family. Many, many thanks for making us feel so very welcome!

Not a single thing comes to my mind.

Eileen was so welcoming & helpful. Our car had met a wall and dented a fender and she helped us with calling the car rental. Gave us a lovely cup of tea and cake on our arrival which helped us feel better! We had a delicious - and filling- breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She is a wonderful host and we'll recommend Niblick to any friends/family traveling to Ireland. Beautiful property and excellent location. 10 stars! Thank you Eileen. Arlene (Canada)

There was nothing we didn't like!

Eileen was a great host. We arrived tired and hungry and she even prepared a lovely cheese and cracker platter. Her breakfast was unbelievable, the best we had in Ireland without having the "full Irish." Loved the pancakes! We had a very nice twin room with a great view of the garden. Very short drive into Bantry but we liked the quiet location.

Nothing - it was perfect!

Our stay in Bantry was lovely, made just so by our gracious host. We were welcomed with tea, traybakes and a history of the home and area. The rooms were comfortable with well appointed ensuites that met our needs. The hand cooked breakfast was a particular highlight that started our day off on the right foot. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.

Everything met our expectations.

We usually choose our sites with the hope of engaging our host, particularly during breakfast, on any number of issues associated with the Irish culture. Both pleasant and informative, Eileen met our highest expectations. In addition, the breakfasts were equal to the craic…most enjoyable. If we are ever back in the southwest of Ireland we will certainly look to the Niblick and Eileen to enhance our stay.
