Great location, on the Barbican with its many restaurants and bars. Our room had nice views over the harbour. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and were able to sit out at the tables the pub had set up across the road overlooking the sea. Our room was large and comfortable, although the bathroom was teeny weeny! Although the pub itself has no parking, we parked in the nearby Lambhey Hill car park, well within walking distance, for a cost of £14.90 for 24 hours. Although the pub does not serve breakfast, we went to Monty's a few doors down where we had a great one at a reasonable price.
There were a lot of motorbikes speeding past the window late at night, so we had to close the window. The stairs to the rooms are very steep and partially without a bannister to hold on to, so beware if you have mobility difficulties.

The location worked well for me. I just got off the ferry from Roscoff and arrived later than expected. Communication with the manager was excellent and nothing was a problem. It's not far from the ferry terminal so it was ideal. Arriving in the evening was good for parking as well, right outside across from the accommodation. You are on the edge of the Barbican so plenty of choice for food and drink. The room was cosy and clean with everything you needed.
The road outside must be part of the Plymouth moto GP as heaps of motorcyclists did numerous bog laps in a circuit. Mostly two pot screamers. Speed humps would sort it out.

Great location, nice view over the harbourside. Outside seating area for drinks from the bar next to Mayflower Steps. Generous, if unexciting tea/coffee tray. Comfortable bed. Plenty of hangers for clothes.
Very small bathroom, could have done with some hooks on the back of the door. Wifi not great, kept cutting out, meaning I had to sign in again. The stairs leading down to the entrance door were difficult to negotiate, especially with luggage (although to be fair we were offered help with luggage when we arrived). No handrail on the bottom part of the stairs, which could cause difficulties for anyone older with knee trouble.

The location is brilliant. Staff were friendly despite it being very busy for mans day out and the pub being very busy. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the feather duvet. I slept very well.
There was a tapping sound that kept my partner awake most of the night. However, we understand that it is an old building, and old pipes will make noise. We couldn't use the main light in the room as the light switch was broken. I'm partially sighted and struggle with dim lighting, so maybe something to look into getting fixed.

Brilliant location, directly opposite the Mayflower Steps at the Barbican. The pub is also really good - choice of locals ales, smart with food and staff put the FAC game on for us, being away from home!
Nothing, actually to not like too much. Room rather dingy in comparison to smart pub downstairs. Don't usually watch tv when staying away in hotels - but trying to watch said football, couldn't as channels froze every few seconds. No breakfast, parking conveniently a short walk along the road - though rather pricey! Nevertheless, room rate reflects this.

1 - location was great, close to the shops bars restaurants but far enough away not to be in the thick of it 2 - clean basic & everything worked 3 - if we needed new or extra towels, toilet rolls & coffee/tea/sugar/milk pots then it was no problem 4 - bathroom was just right, clean fairly new, shower worked well & the water was nice & hot 5 - close to parking area, we managed to park about 20 yards away from the property in a pay to park space. 6 - effortless key hand over….told the lady in the admiral McBride we had a booking, gave her my name, she gave me the key with info on how to enter the property and that was it.
Nothing to dislike about the property…but…I’ve just got to say, as our room (No5) looked out onto the street you can hear late night goings on from people going home from a night out (not a problem for us) & cars going at breakneck speed up the hill which starts outside the property, let me stress that it’s not all night, just every now and again & it wouldn’t stop us from booking this property again.

Location location location! Opposite Mayflower steps about 20m away. Viewed from our room . Nice and warm in our room considering it was cold outside during our stay. light and airy given it was a small. room. It is a very old historic building.
Bar prices were very high and it was almost always empty during our stay with no atmosphere. Few offers e.g. happy hours ,2 for 1s etc that other bars seem to offer. In a way that helped us as our room was above the bar and so there was little no noise to disturb us. Nevertheless it would have been nice to sit in the bar late on for a nightcap after a day exploring No breakfasts but there were a couple of great cafes a few yards away one in particular doing great coffee and plenty of breakfast options.

The location and view is excellent as are the staff, whoever cleans the room is amazing, they do above and beyond
The ensuite is very close to the side of the bed so a little tricky and the bed was I think a standard double so a little small, but measurements were in the details so I'm not really complaining, one thing that needs sorting is the dressing table stool! The legs need tightening

My mum and I really enjoyed our stay at the Admiral MacBride. The room and facilities were excellent, with an amazing sea view, and the room was superbly clean. The staff were friendly and staying was so quiet and peaceful. Amazing value for such an excellent location and superb room. I can't wait to return with my partner later on this year and will certainly be booking to stay here again in future. I highly recommend!

The location was just perfect, myself and my young daughter was very happy with the room, it served us well...within walking distance to the aquarium and the beautiful surrounding area. For the price we payed we would definitely consider returning. Thank you
There was a few little things ( the stability of the stool.-.wobbly legs. , some of the wall was crumbling - could do with a freshen up with paint) we did notice the main ceiling light wasn't working but as we only stayed one night we just used the side lamps
