This property is a hidden gem. We chose to stay here as it was conveniently located on our vacation route from Cooperstown (Baseball HOF) to Niagara Falls but didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be a great find. The hosts were extremely helpful. They have obviously put a lot of work into making this a clean, comfortable and well-appointed facility. The indoor pool was very enjoyable. The fitness room is more extensive than any hotel's I have used. The bedroom is gigantic with much more space than we could use. I highly recommend this resort.

Despite the sign at the road, upon arrival we were uncertain that we had found the right place as the street side of the resort does not look particularly inviting and (presently) has only dirt/mud driveways. However, once driving around to the back of the building where the parking area and main door to the resort are located, all was good and our enjoyable time at the resort commenced.

The owners were absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough positive things about them and their hospitality. The hotel was perfect for our family trip to Cooperstown. We’ve already recommended family & friends to visit too. We enjoyed breakfast being included (fresh fruit bowl was a favorite) and being able to warm up our dinners in the commons area. My husband enjoyed the gym downstairs and we all loved the pool!! Our favorite parts though were talking with the owners & other guests at meals and outside around the firepit. The kids loved playing cornhole too and being able to see the horses on the farm. Our kids referred to Janet and Dave as their vacation grandparents! They asked how many stars we could give then said to add at least one extra. We would highly recommend Allen Lake Resort!!

Loved all of the amenities on the resort and the size of our room was huge! It was me and one of my best friends and the first thing we did was go into the pool, it’s very spacious and has a volleyball net where we played. Unfortunately, we couldn’t figure out how to work the sauna. But the hot tub jacuzzi was also nice. We enjoyed the common area in the dining room and played the supplied games post dinner. We even had a chance to commune with other guests.

The drive is serious, especially at night. The roads aren’t lit and there a lot of animals that dart out. While driving back from dinner, we had to avoid several deer, frogs, a woman walking her dog in the middle of the road in the dark, and a swooping owl.

Pretty setting. Good swimming pool, sauna, and exercise room. Very good breakfast with lots of choices (eventhough our booking app told us that breakfast was not available). I had called to check and was told that it was only a limited continental breakfast. It was not that limited! The rooms were clean and spacious. The woman in charge was very friendly and helpful,.

The room was very large, but lacked places to put things and outlets for plugging in chargers. No ground floor rooms and no elevator...a bit of an inconvenience for eighty year olds. .

The property is very clean and new. The rooms are big and they have smart TVs. We stayed here since my son play at Cooperstown Dream Park. It was a 25-30 minute drive. Very easy and beautiful drive. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back and stay here once it’s my youngest son’s turn.

Just 30 minutes from Cooperstown, where we had to drive to each day - the trip is easy with rolling hills and farms. A distraction to get the kids off of their screens. Staff is a couple that give personal attention to your comfort and really care about their business - very helpful and easygoing. Very new and clean. Kids loved the indoor pool.

Breakfast selection was somewhat limited to pretty basic and hours were limited, but we didn't starve. The property is small, quiet and hands-on family run.

The whole area is pretty rural, outside of downtown Cooperstown there are few stores (of ANY kind-even convenience stores are few and far between). While not necessarily bad, it is difficult at times to find your way around even with Waze.

This is a great location in relation to Cooperstown and other areas in Central New York. It's a great alternative for someone visiting the area who wants a more relaxed and rural setting compared to staying somewhere like Utica. Janet and David are wonderful hosts. The rooms are large and clean and worked well for our family. Our kids enjoyed the pool and seeing the horses outside. The continental breakfast had a great variety and was a great start to our day. It was the perfect blend of the amenities you look for in a hotel with the service and seclusion you'd have at a BNB or other type of accommodation.

The owner of the farm was friendly and helped us get into our room. The pool was large and there are only ten rooms on the property; so we were the only ones using the pool. Most of the hotel was just a couple years old. Very spacious bedrooms!

The sauna didn’t work. The back of the hotel was missing siding. The bed made a noise whenever my husband rolled over; it was loud enough to wake me up. Some clutter on the property.

Room was clean and spacious, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the location was very beautiful. It was close to a nice restaurant on a lake.

The lighting in the room was a little odd. The location is extremely rural and this wasn’t clear on the booking cute.
