The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the room was beautifully decorated and very clean. We loved the private terrace and the huge bathtub (we had one of the feature rooms). The grounds are beautifully kept and I had the best ever Aperol Spritz in the outdoor area overlooking the small pond. We also loved the complimentary spa facilities! Would definitely return!

The breakfast was quite disappointing: I had smashed avocado on sourdough bread. The bread was not toasted and as a result it was quite soggy once the avocado was spread on and the avocado itself was bland -nothing added to it like lemon, chilly oil, salt or pepper. My husband's full English was quite underwhelming- looked very basic and was just ok. All in all, our breakfast was not of the standard and quality we encountered in every other aspect of our wonderful stay in Seckford Hall.

Loved the Hotel which is very old and steeped in history. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. It is also in a great location for visiting the Suffolk coast and countryside.

The room had minor faults which perhaps should have been checked before our stay. There were also two Weddings taking place over the weekend which restricted our movements in the grounds. The music was also very loud and meant that we could not sit on the outside Terrace and enjoy any food and drinks as the noise impacted the ability to speak normally. We had to retreat inside which was unfortunate as the weather was great. If you intend to stay better to check beforehand if any Weddings are planned.

I booked the feature room of a four poster bed and wasn't disappointed with the feel or ambiance of the room, it was truly stunning. The spa was excellent as was the service we received throughout the hotel. The outstanding part was the service we received in the restaurant. My partner has some specific dietary requirements, the staff could not have been more helpful with this. Adapting meal choices and creating a lovely evening for us both. Thank you!

The room, due to its location directly above a busy lobby was noisy at times, but quieted down OK later. Nothing to be done about that, its an old hotel and te walls are what they are!

The location close to Woodbridge and the A12 makes it easily accessible by car. We were taking the ferry from Harwich the next day and used it as a stopover. I had an early morning swim alone in the pool whilst my husband walked the dog around the grounds.

It was unclear when booking that there was a charge for a dog (£30) and when reading the confirmation email, it stated that you needed to stay in a junior suite if bringing a dog. This, however, was not the case. Clarification on this matter when booking would be appreciated.

The hotel and rooms are fantastic. The style of the overall furniture is mostly in keeping with it being Tudor. The attention to detail and service is exemplary. The Christmas decorations were still up and were some of the best I have ever seen. I would imagine that this would be a stunning place to spend Christmas. Breakfast was great. Big selection of buffet food and a varied choice on the menu. I couldn't fault the food at all. The evening meal was really lovely. Not sure how they managed to make an apple crumble souffle but they did!

Our blinds were broken in the bathroom and so we couldn't use the room which resulted in us having to change rooms. Disappointed as we had a feature room which we were looking forward to staying in but we were very pleased to be upgraded to a suite. Dinner was a bit expensive but not excessively

Dated from 1530 and absolutely amazing. Beautiful grounds, stunning entrance, situated in its own private valley and a dwelling on this site from the 12 th Century. An absolutely unique experience with fantastic service and wonderful staff. Particular thank you to Amelia, Arni and Immy for making our stay particularly memorable. Great food and a 2AA Rosette restaurant. Our room was beautiful, in the courtyard and like our own private cottage. Beautiful warm swimming pool and spa facilities. A lovely relaxing break .

I could not find a thing to dislike.

lovely place to stay lots of history , suite was nice comfy and clean with nice balcony ..the grounds where outstanding ..we where there for a wedding..all tables for breakfast where reserved for wedding party which was so nice...food at the wedding was lovely..my only criticism is food was coming out very slow..and extra food was coming out when we had already eaten our food ..eg potatoes..veg and sauces. top table had eaten when some people hadn't even got there food ..staff throughout the hotel where very polite and accommodating..Spa was lovely ...shame Sun lounges weren't on part of the grounds ..not just in the spar..definitely will be back

the overall experience was brilliant

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. We had a feature room with private terrace. Didn't use because of the weather but must be nice in the summer. Great size room with fantastic free standing bath and bed was very comfortable. Had a nice massage and Spa is adequate. Unfortunately inside Sauna was very cool and outside Jacuzzi's need an upgrade as jets not powerful at all. Breakfast made to order was very nice and vegetarian Sausages were of a decent standard.... Really great staff and customer service. Very limited Vegan dishes for dinner but I appreciated Chefs effort at making a special dish especially as it was my birthday. Overall a nice stay and we would visit again.

Fabulous hotel, clean room and great location. Staff were excellent, particularly the Manager, David and receptionist, Summer. Food was exceptional, fabulous chef, Jake. Beautiful grounds, so well kept. Spa was great, we had the pool to ourselves in the afternoon, all in all a lovely weekend stay! Definitely recommend… if it’s good enough for Elizabeth I and Thomas Seckford, then it’s certainly worth a visit!
