This property was close to Mayo which I needed. The staff were kind, breakfast was ok, not many options for someone with restricted diet other than yogurt. The room was nice, bathroom need a little work, caulking wearing off, but it did not affect using anything. Not all the outlets worked but we found a work around so it wasn’t a huge deal. All staff were excellent. One small issue with housekeeping, I was down getting breakfast and came back to housekeeping in my room with my daughter. That was a little uncomfortable but was a teaching moment for my daughter about answering doors. I can’t say enough about the front staff and breakfast attendant, very kind, respectful and accommodating!! The pool was very nice, not over crowded or over chlorinated. My daughter enjoyed the pool and I was able to stick my legs in the hot tub(unable to submerge due to feeding tube). Met some other Mayo patients who had shared experiences which is always nice! The shuttle service was great as well! Super entertaining drivers!

We stayed as my husband had to be at Mayo early for his total knee surgery The night before his surgery, the hotel shuttled us downtown to eat & picked us up which was helpful so we did not need to drive & park. The shuttle to Mayo Gonda / Charlton building was wonderful & quick. My husband had total knee surgery & it was very helpful to use the hotels shuttle as we had to be their very early & did not have to drive & find parking. Once he was in surgery, I was able to shuttle back to the hotel, eat breakfast & rest a bit & then check out & drive to Mayo. Would definitely stay here again. the staff were very accommodating & the rooms were spacious & clean.

About 10 minutes after we arrived in our room, the door was opened by another couple using their key card - which opened the door to our room! They went back to the check in desk, and then - nicely - came back to tell us that the room number they were given was misread (or something) and that their key card was changed and they were in their correct room. Okay. A good thing. However, when we came back to our room later - after dinner - our key card didn't work! We went down to the lobby and then redid - whatever they do - so we could get into our room. It was very scary to have someone simply open the door - with a key card - and walk into our room.

The attached restaurant is a favorite of my daughters for their gluten free menu. The shuttle to Mayo Clinic was much nicer than walking the tunnel system! Loved that breakfast was included and I did not have to pay for parking as well.

We stayed in one of the oldest detached buildings and would not choose this option again. While it was a comfortable bed and the room looked clean, it smelled musty and was outdated. The air conditioner was not actually in the bedroom. There was an exhaust looking fan in the wall that was noisy and the only way to blow the cold air from the living room into the bedroom. We were also up on the 3rd floor farthest from the elevator and found it be difficult to access the room easily.

Well. First thing no remote for first TV. Went to call front desk telephone not working in both areas. To tired so set ice maker while took a nap. Got up to few ice cubes and a sheet of frozen ice in bottom of tray with ice cubes trapped in top. When went to eat stopped at front desk to report problems. Maintained came about hour or so later with remote and fixed one phone and told about ice maker. Both employees very nice. And this kinda piddly but could you have matching dishes. I guess for $189 I would expect better. Room 940. I wasn’t gonna say anything but needs to be fixed for next person. Any chance of compensation?? Sherrie Wilken

The hotel is always very clean, the staff always friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast is very nice. They also have a very nice restaurant called Twigs that is located inside the hotel and the food is very good. The location is only two blocks off of Broadway and very close to the Mayo Clinic.

This is our second time staying and the first time I had experienced any problems. I didn't have any hot water on my last day, it was lukewarm if that. We will stay again and hopefully that was just a fluke.

Great breakfast choices. Hot, appealing. Very pleasant! The shuttle with lift was very helpful to getting to Mayo Clinic. Free parking. Very accommodating with a late checkout when we got tied up longer than we planned on at Mayo.

My husband is in a transport chair right now. There is only one "ramp" area up the curb in front of the main entrance. If you are not fortunate to secure a spot near that ramp, it is difficult to access that area. Thank you! However, the shuttle with the lift is very helpful for trips to Mayo Clinic.

We stayed due to appts at the Mayo Clinic. We love the location of this hotel and the shuttle. They have their own shuttle vs a shuttle that stips at multiple hotels. The breakfast is always very good as well. The beds are very comfortable.

Our room for this stay was very hot. We could not get it to cool down. It was below zero temperatures outside but we had to turn the air conditioning on to try to get the room to be a little cooler and we still could not get it to cool down. We were in a top floor room. It was hard to get good sleep.

Breakfast fine. So many disposables and plastic though. Staff was great at desk and rebooked me to another room at my request even though they were almost full.

I started in a suite with kitchen but immediately on entering the room I could smell cooking smoke and soon after my eyes were watering. Everything else was clean in the room but it was environmentally irritating. Happily staff found me a room in the hotel itself which was just fine.

I especially appreciated the free shuttle service. I was in Rochester to help my son after he broke his ankle and being able to get to a grocery store, Mayo Clinic and the airport was a huge help. All of the shuttle drivers were very friendly and provided helpful information. The room was quite large with a microwave, refrigerator and hot pot. I did not eat at the restaurant on site so I cannot review that. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the downtown area.

The breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing special with paper plates and plastic utensils.
